I know I hardly ever comment, but I truly appreciate ALL of your "techie" videos!! I know they are time consuming, but you have helped me (and countless others) tremendously! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!
Very helpful! I am still in the early learning stages with perfecting my videos but I have come a long way yet still room for tons of growth when it comes to lighting and editing. Thanks for doing Tech Tuesdays. Love it!!
I just two weeks ago understood my camera with the whitebalance stuff. I regularly take pictures of my drawings whenever I'm too lazy to go scan them. all the lighting in our house is different. I thought putting it on "Auto" would just be easiest but then I remembered when I first shot at a real photostudio, the guy helping me out did some wizard stuff with whitebalance and then it hit me..I finally understood the custom white balance. It really helps out on so much. If you don't like to edit for too long and want to keep every color natural, custum whitebalance is the thing to go for. I'm looking forward to more cameratips!!
Maya! You just really helped me beyond belief. I didn't know I had manual setting on my camera! I finally can fix that blue cast that I get! Thank you.
Hey girl,i was just wondering...when you put the camera on custom...you take a white object, and then?do you force the focus? Or does it focus the lightest object in the frame? I have been doing hours and hours of research..and I really do appreciate all your education, that you have bestowed upon us. Thanks again.
Hi girly its MACBROWNIEBOMBSHELL Im back and ready to rock it out girl, I love maya she has taught me a lot. Since now Im working with my dream camera!!!! stop by my channel sometime soon girly miss u
At first I was disappointed that you hadn't been doing as many hair videos, but now that i've watched your tech videos, I love them! I've been thinking of starting a youtube channel for a while now and these videos are really helpful and inspirational!
Thank you so much for this tutorial! Your videos are so clear and you have such a unique personality that makes it so much more enjoyable to watch! I rarely comment on youtube videos unless I find them very helpful:) Keep it up!
I've learned a lot just by looking at your photo/video series. I'm a beginner beauty/fashion blogger and this has helped abundantly! I have a Samsung NX 1000, didn't know the first thing about using a camera besides pressing record or the shutter button. Thanks alot!
i just bought a Cannon T5i. Thank God for your video because I would have made 10000000s of videos and never noticed how crapy the yellow light is. Im starting my new vlong soon and you videos have been very helpful. Thank you so much!!! Doing me. Be blessed.
I’m so glad you’re doing Techie Tuesdays! I started my channel last year and lighting has been the most difficult to understand. Thank you for providing this information! It’s a great starting point and makes it less scary :)
Best tech vids 4 beginners!! I really enjoy how you keep it simple so that we can get a base understanding & with that can go look 4 more in depth lessons if we chose to. Thanks 4 real! Starting my own YT channel soon & grasping all the knowledge I can beforehand.
It's fate that as I almost chucked my camera while trying to vlog because even with all my new lighting, it was still yellow... you create this video. God is homie. Thank you for this Mama Shameless.
Oh wow! White balanace has always been a hit or miss thing for me. This is such an informative vid and so easy to understand! Your beauty (inside and out) always brightens my days! Much love from Japan!
Thanks Maya! I definitely needed this video especially that we shoot with the same camera lol! Definitely a big help for my youtube channel! Thanks boo!
These videos have been SO helpful for me just learning basic photography and my way around a camera. You make them so easy to understand and get the balance perfect between keeping things simple and teaching the concept in question. You've actually become my first reference point when it comes to queries like this. Thank you Maya!
Sooooo helpful! I'm starting a RUclips page and for me the filter for yellow lighting wasn't working but your tip on a custom white balance solved the problem. Thank you!
This lesson was much needed. A suggestion for a future video is how to hold a camera when not using a tripod. Any advice on avoiding that ultra-shaky handheld, dizzy effect would be much appreciated.
Absolutely loving your tech videos. I'm planning to start a youtube channel this year. I'm buying my Canon 650d/T4i camera next week and light next month. This is supper helpful and I can't wait to get my camera and start learning my camera.

I use a Nikon D5100, which definitely is not popular for videos, so it is a lot of playing around and tweaking. I love your techie videos by the way :)
I'm recently a new viewer and I've been obsessed with your channel, especially the techie videos!!! I'm learning so much thank you!!!! wondering if you know more about go pro settings and tips with go pros?
Your channel is the most helpful channel I've ever found!! I'm watching video after video after video. I need the best interior lightning conditions because I'll be recording in a place with no windows and I'm kind of freaking out!!
