Unfortunately, I can't listen to the entire conversation now, but he sounds interesting. I'm sympathetic to the absolute atheist perspective sometimes because many of my family have gone down the Christian ethnocentric nationalism pipeline over last 40 years. It is easy to bs oneself with rigid beliefs for the sake of simplifying life, but it doesn't actually make life better. However, I don't think religion is always about discursive thought or beliefs. It can be about ecstatic transcendence and / or immanent participation within a larger being. Apophatic approaches to theology can also lead to epistemic humility. The evocative / aesthetic nature of language and symbology is something that we should definitely use for personal and social benefits rather than allowing them to be coopted by advertising and media gurus. I'm personally enriched by a strain of orphic platonism that doesn't preclude secular criticism. Wouldn't it be great if more hard scientists were outspoken about the stupidity of organizing our politics around market ideology?
To smart for you own good! Academic word salad. And the believers are here to stay. The algorithm dropped you on my phone, listened long enough. Have a great day.
Claiming academic word salad is a definite way to communicate that this went over your head. If you just knew the definitions for these academic terms it would shift your understanding of this exchange. Any confusion should be understood through further research. It doesn't signal a failure of logic though. There's a lot of resources for those wondering honestly
House painter/furniture make Sculpture BFA in southern Colorado really loves this, thanks!

I absolutely think that the cultural divide between the analytic and continental traditions has to be overcome, totally agree with him.

Just because you believe something doesn't make it true. Belief is an emotion.
Is that response you just typed in also an emotion?
