I just realized with out Severus pleading with Dumbledore to keep them safe and vowing to protect Harry. They would’ve all been dead it was his pure love for lily that protected Harry. Severus sacrificed himself for Lily and Harry (regardless he let lily go but not his love for her and he hates himself because he had insulted her) He in his heart believed that his love for the dark arts was the reason they weren’t together and since her death has put her son first. He always protected Harry not once did he ever regret his decision. I don’t care what anyone else says about Snape he is a hero.
