What i really like about Sam's videos is the variety of subjects that he offers, from flying in an aid plane in east africa to flying in the finest private jets the Industry offers, from attending an air show in North Korea to a visit to a catering facility in Switzerland, from attending a cabin crew training session at Emirates facility to a visit to the largest planes graveyard in Arizona.. and that what makes him different than other aviation RUclipsrs/Geeks. Thank you Sam.
Sam, if you’re ever in Colorado again, I highly suggest flying to North America’s highest commercial airport. The airport is located in Telluride, Colorado, just south of Aspen. The only commercial service is provided by an airline called Denver Air Connection (DAC). The airline serves Telluride using a Do328 Jet, and the airline has possibly hands down the best snack service for such a short flight or just snack service in the USA. I’m glad I’m able to call Colorado my home, and a goal I have is to fly to every commercial airport in the state amongst others. Enjoy Colorado, it certainly has a lot to offer.
Back in the day, Aspen Airways flew from/to Denver’s Stapleton with Convairs. Puke bags were in high use as the route was subject to turbulence and wind shear. No glass cockpits..just steam gauges and pilots with nerves of steel!
From the beginning to the end of the program, I saw everyone's enthusiasm and the beauty of the scenery. At the same time, this is a beautiful plane. Thank you, Sam.
@ Yeah its basically the same as JSX, they even use the same planes. The main difference is its even more private than JSX and roughly double the price. A flight from LAX to Cabo on JSX is around $1,000 and on Aero from Van Nuys (A private general aviation airport in LA) is around $2,000-3,000.
@@The_la_spotter Dang! Thanks for the info.. so for a bit more space, wild.. Saw this plane in Van Nuys and the outside caught my eye.. Love JSX not sure Id use this for that amount :) Appreciate the repsonse
I remember several years ago flying into Aspen in a Cessna 172 out of Breckinridge, which is over 9000 feet amsl ( which is North America’s highest altitude airport). Both the descent into Aspen and climb out had to be done within the airfield boundary which made life interesting in a relatively low powered aeroplane. Thank goodness I had a local instructor with me which gave me lots of confidence and some great experience in mountain flying.
I have only flown into Aspen in the Pilatus simulator but have flown the actual airplane into Telluride, elevation 9000 feet. Pilots did an awesome job landing in a very challenging airport, this from a retired airline pilot.
I remember in the mid 80’s a 707 ( or that size passenger jet) had an emergency landing at aspen. In those days only private jets or “dash sevens” could take off in the thin atmosphere. So it had to be trucked down hwy 82. I loved flying to Denver in those old prop planes. Just magic
Thanks for the latest video, you're living a life a lot of us aspire to but very few will achieve. You're obviously a very successful and busy businessman so I really do appreciate the extra hours you put in to provide us with a quality production, it really shows your passion and genuine enthusiasm for flying. Have a great summer.
It's just like the Kai Tak airport in HK , coming in over the valley and houses, and when you land it's water lapping at your plane( it just looked like it) , way back in 1978 on a business trip with Singapore Air., just love Sam's enthusiastic voice when he likes something he has seen out the window. Keep up the great work Sam Philltheflyer (Australia)
I love your videos because there are really inspiring and unique. Like he goes from first class review to dangerous missions and even cargo aids and makes documentaries. Thanks for making videos
I was spotting at ASE earlier this month, seeing Aero come in on 15. Now I am glad to see what their interior is like and the approach everyone has to do.
Oh Sam, I've been watching all of your videos, I have several flights coming, and im afraid of flying, haven't done it since 2016, suddenly out of nowhere I developed a fear of planes after coming down of one... your videos are helping me to get use to flying again, I envy your good attitude up there, because I just can't enjoy being on a plane. Thank you for your good videos, always smiling and giving us a good experience. Hope some day I can enjoy flying as you do.
Hi stranger, just came across your post. We share the same fear. I developed my fear a few years back, and I haven't flew between 2019-2021. But the more you fly again, the less you worry about it. I just finished a 14 hour international fly and it was a lot better than I imagined. You can do it too, good luck.
@@yangdai3751 Hi! Thank you, i don’t have a long one, but I have 6 flights in the next couple of months because of the layovers to get to my destination. I’m doing, reading and learning everything i can to bare with this. Thank you for sharing your experience with me.
I loved how you only showed a few seconds of the landing in Aspen: I would have just over-used so much footage for the landing, but you did SO EXCELLENT!!! I REALLY ENJOY LIVING VICARIOUSLY THRU YOU, SAM🤠🤠🤠🤠
I remember Eastern Airlines the first time in 1964.. I got a filet mignon steak baked potato sour cream and chives vegetables a choice of drink..WOW... I was in Heaven back then today..🛬🛫🚀🛸 commercial airlines you're lucky if you get stale bag of pretzels to be on that Airline and get treated that way that's the way it should be.. I have my own plane now it's not as big as a Learjet but it's definitely better than waiting in lines at airports for 2 to 3 hours.. and going through all the security beautiful Learjet...👍👏👏👏
I ever ride United Express crj700 from San Francisco to Aspen when it's winter day in Colorado. And also I lived in Burlingame housing right next to the airport.
Belle balade.

All the while turning fossil fuel into CO2.
My dad is one of the top people in the world for landings in aspen. It’s a challenging airport for sure which is why he loves it so much!
Honestly, I was getting stressed out lately, and watching your videos always calm me down!! Keep up the good work!! 😇

When I saw this video I immediately thought no it’s definitely telluride (KTEX)
@@bruceL322 While KTEX is slightly less dangerous, it’s still as unique as Aspen if not more
This looks like nothing compared to flying into Telluride. How is Aspen more dangerous? Anyone know?
@@wesleyp8566 it has regular jet service
Aero seems like a great company. Worth the extra ticket price. In these days of cancelled flights, they will probably thrive.

Ooh, great to finally see an Aero review. I see them all the time since I go to school by van nuys airport.
