ERRA inspired riff on the Ibanez RGIXL7

- I wanted to do something ERRA inspired this week because their new album Cure drops TOMORROW. I'm so excited to sit down and listen through the whole thing. As well as that, Jesse Cash is one of my favourite songwriters and guitarists and whenever I listen to his stuff I feel so inspired. So this is the result of that.
On the guitar note, this has to be one of the best baritone guitars for modern metal; it holds tune really well and plays so great out of the box. Not to mention it looks incredible! What other baritone guitars should I be checking out for this stuff?
Running my Ibanez RGIXL7 through Neural DSP's Gojira X for all the guitar tones.
Bass is Submission Audio's UmanskyBass running through Parallax.
Drums is the Fairview kit from RS Drums.

This man just ghost wrote a completely solid ERRA track by himself. Subbed
Yo, thank you! That's a very kind comment. I appreciate you subbing!
Outstanding and needs a full version!!!
Cheers, man! I actually would like to make this a full track at some point, it just flowed so naturally while I was writing it. I don't have plans to at the moment but I have a few in this same boat so maybe I'll do a little collection of them at some point. 🙂
sounds absolutely awesome!
Thanks, man!
Them harmonicss! 💪🦖🤘
Haha, I'm glad someone liked the harmonics!
i envy being this good
also nice guitar, been looking at getting one of em
Enough of the right practice can definitely get you there! And thank you! It's a really great guitar, I doubt you'd be disappointed with it.
juicy riffs!🍍
Cheers!
👏👏👏

Amazing dude!! 💜💜
Thank you!
Love it
Awesome! Glad you dig it 😊

Knees heavy, arms heavy, mum’s heavy, everything is heavy 🏋️♀️
Mom's spaghetti 🏋️♂️
nice one bro
Cheers man!
This is pretty good. What are your settings for Gojira X and, if you're alright with sharing, what was the mastering process if it wasn't very long
Cheers man! This was quite literally the default settings on Gojira X haha. Funnily enough I've actually got my first tutorial style video coming out next week that will go through the master stuff I used, so keep an eye out for that. But it had a tape machine, bus compressor, EQ and Flatline 2 for clipping and limiting.
Your Playing is outstanding just the Guitar Anp Plug in dies not fit. If you saw the naking of Erra Self titled Album then you know that Jessie’s main sound cane from a Diezel Herbert Mk II with the Fortin Pedal in front ir you could jyst take a Diezel Herbert Mk III which comes already as tight as necessary for the Erra Sound & like Jessie said in a recent interview in Australia he does not use noise gates to the extreme like Periphery or Neschuggah. I hope that these are sone tips to help you fir your text Video
Great stuff here. Did you keep the stock pickups on that beast?
Thanks! Yeah I actually think they're really great. I know a lot of people tend to dislike the Fusion Edge pickups but I've been pleasantly surprised with them given what I'd heard. I don't find it hard to get a good tone out of them and have no plans on swapping them around at the moment. Also, Keaton from Invent Animate has them in his recent Ibanez custom build and he definitely has some very good tones so thats plenty good enough for me haha.
@@itsMEADOWS Heh, no strong bias here (aside from being more used to actives). I've wondered how these would sound in a modern metal context, and you have provided some compelling answers. They sound very clear for my tastes. Making that RGDR43 harder to resist.
Fair enough! Well they definitely sound good to my ear, and I think Invent Animates stuff speaks for itself haha. That's a tasty guitar! You going to pull the trigger?
@@itsMEADOWS I'm definitely going to check them out. As for the guitar(s?) well... it's a maybe but I might roll that into a single Aristides build this year. I checked out a H/08 a little while back and will probably take the plunge. The long wait will give me some time to practice. 😅
Ooooohhh! An H/08 will be amazing! I'm already excited for you haha
what tuning are you on? great work man!
Thank you! Drop F# on this one. :)
@@itsMEADOWSthanks man! btw, what gauge are you on for drop F#?
No worries! I'm running an 8 string 10 - 74 set, I just throw out the 64. I'd prefer a 72 but no-one really does 10-72 sets haha. Holds tune great on the baritone scale, though!
@@itsMEADOWSthis helps, thanks a lot! pls continue making music videos..so fun to watch
Awesome, happy to help! Cheers man, I will! New one coming later this week. 😊
That tone is awesome, do you have a preset link?
Thanks man! Yeah sort of, it's Archetype: Gojira X on default settings haha. I just turned off the wet FX. The amp just sounded so good when I loaded it up that I didn't feel like I needed to mess with it.
What drum sim are you using? Shit sounds insanely tight
Using The Fairview kit from RS Drums. It's SO good. I use it on most of my sessions now.
@@itsMEADOWS I've been using GGD Modern and Massive through Kontakt for awhile now and got it dialed very nicely, but man that Fairview kit just sounds way too clean in the mix..
@@TheBDUBProduction oh sick! Modern and Massive was the one I mainly used before Fairview, and I still use it a lot but Fairview does my heavier stuff now. It's so great having multiple kit options in M&M, though. I definitely think it's one of the most versatile virtual drum plugins around. Fairview complements M&M super well, really great pair to have!
