I made the mistake of going in to my LBS yesterday. They had the Mach 4 SL in my size and color. Cost was $6,100 US. I'm considering selling a Kidney. All kidding aside, My 05 Blur has been the best bike, it's still feels perfect, but so much has changed in the last 15 years. As soon as the money is right, I'm going with a Pivot Mach 4 in Blue. Triple.
For xc/xc marathon racing/general trail riding would you get the Pivot Mach 4 SL with live valve, pro xt/xtr build or save $1000 and get the Scott Spark premium? I've narrowed it down to these two because of what's available to me locally. Could also splurge and get the Mach 4 in team XTR build with live valve for another $1900... worth it?
I prefer the Mach 4 SL overall. The Sniper has more playful geometry, but it's a little too light through the rear end for my liking. The Pivot feels a lot sturdier.
Great Bike, Raceface Next Sl Carbon Cranks are Total Trash! Had a it on my Trek Top Fuel 9.9 2017, my Xt SPD Pedal sheared off the threaded insert, had to have the drive side arm completely replaced happened twice! The bottom bracket from Raceface is also shit, any small amount of dirt or debris that may enter, one starts to hear a Annoying Creaking Noises! Washing the bike gets rid of the noises, but it reappears immediately after the 1St ride! Sold the Trash/Shit Raceface! Installed Shimano Crankset with bottom bracket, No Noises or Creaks even after riding my Bike 10 different times without Washing it!
There's no defending the price of this when it doesn't do anything more than it's competitors at much cheaper (still very expensive) prices. No doubt it's a nice bike though.
Yes very costly. I’m certain you would get plenty of techy shit to play with. I reckon when your are blasting some sick single track you will feel that high end quality under you . FYI the bike I ride cost $1200 and I still have a big smile at the end of every ride.
Want the top end? Gotta shell out. Same applies to S-Works, SC's CC series, or any high-end models of any brand really. www.pivotcycles.com/en/bike-trail-429-1
Awesome review! My buddy worked on the engineering of this model so he’ll be stoked on this.
Great review, so........ YetiSB100 or Pivot Mach 4 SL? I am deliberating.
Trust an Aussie to nail the price/battery comments section babies so succinctly.
Top review.
Just subbed you guys ,getting into MTB and the bike choice is mind boggling.
Not sure what I’ll get yet.
Aussie power 🇦🇺👊💯

In the US, this bike is $10,599 with XX1

Which would you say is the better descender/handler: the Mach 4SL or the Intense Sniper XC from last year? Which did you like more?

I won't touch a bike unless its over $20,000. Way too cheap for me, but then money is a joke for rich people like me.
I've already seen two on the trails jra
That intro XD
Looks like a Scott Spark, which is probably as quick if not quicker.
How on earth could you possibly know that. What a silly thing to say!
The Spark probably has the edge on performance for $$$ benefit. But quicker? Who knows..
True mountain bikers cars are worth less than their bikes. Priorities right 😉😁
Live valve is a gimmick, 16k for a MTB is Outrageous! Why don’t you Rename it to, “Pivot Rolex Timeless Master Piece”! Frame is made in Taiwan!
Think about this. This bike cost more than the new Apple Mac Pro and display!
