great interview and good to know about Pivot. Great bike but for me I am waiting for the new awesome Pinarello Dogma XC which I hav been waiting for years! I think nothing will come close to a hand made in Italy and one of the sexies bike on road and now on MTB 😊
A friend is offering his to me for $600, BUT the carbon frame is cracked and the rear triangle is too. Should i buy it and attempt a repair? Or are they virtually unrepairable?
In order to shave weight out of the rear triangle, we made the tube profiles very small, especially on the seat stays. As a result, the chainstay was the only place strong enough to handle the braking forces, so we designed the brake to mount there.
@@pivotcyclesusawhy not flat mount. This bike would be perfect for me, but my heels rub bad on even normal frames. Now with the stick out tube I know it would rub through.
@@Bench_mark_113 At the moment, there are limited MTB flat mount brake options on the market. For example, Shimano has only 2-piston XTR & XT options, but SRAM doesn't offer any mtb specific flat mount options. So we chose to go with the traditional post mount to give riders the most flexibility with their dream Mach 4SL builds.
@@Bench_mark_113 Although flat-mount brakes have become commonplace for dropbar disc brake bikes, the options are still limited on the MTB side. So we chose the traditional post mount to give riders the most flexibility on what brakes they can spec on the Mach 4SL.
Imagine buying the last version that Pivot made a few changes last year and was advertised as their new model only to for pivot to come out with a fully redesign this year 🤦 shame on you Pivot.
Awesome video! Thanks for visiting us in Tempe. It was a pleasure showing you guys around.
Give me a pivot switchblade now
great vid!
im really interested in this bike!
gonna pull the trigger soon on it!
Nice release. As a Spark and Epic rider, I'm smitten on the XC version on of the Mach 4 SL.
I'd go 115mm rear travel trail build for sure
Hay Jono good job with the interview.

We are certainly excited about the Dogma XC as well. And we can't wait to see how it compares to the Mach 4 SL.
Thanks for the entertaining review, would a 120 fox grip 2 work better for a bit more cx trail combination??
Awesome bike and brand
Amazing bike
Awesome cool bike lovet ❤
Great bike! Hannah rides an XS, how tall is she?
How does this Pivot Mach 4 SL compare with something like an Ibis Exie?

Does this bike come with the Live Valve upgrade kit option?
It doesn't.
Does this bike have a maximum rider weight limit.
What’s the maximum tire width that you can put on this bike?
The Mach 4 SL fits tires up to 2.4" on 28/30mm wide rims. On narrower rims, 2.35" is usually the widest you can go.
What is the significance of the rear brake being on the chainstay?
In order to shave weight out of the rear triangle, we made the tube profiles very small, especially on the seat stays. As a result, the chainstay was the only place strong enough to handle the braking forces, so we designed the brake to mount there.
@@pivotcyclesusa Thanks.

Same chainstay length on all sizes is not being detail oriented, it’s being lazy!

Just never buy anything and you'll never have anything out of date!
A great bike and a bargain at £14000! 👍🏾
