Depends on the calligraphy script, but for blackletter I would learn a script called Fraktur, then get creative and customize the strokes. If you mean digitally, i can't recommend a software, as I have yet to make my own font. But I do know you will need to learn how to use bezier curves.
Himalaya for sure. Just make sure to add the Steel flex or Steel ultra flex option when purchasing to ensure you can write calligraphy. It is easier for beginners to start with the steel flex nib.

@@leenthelnah it does look awesome but the Himalaya is better for beginners! Remember that there are many colours available to choose from for your pen. When buying from FPR: 1. it may take some time since it is a small business, but it's run by a good guy(Kevin Thiemann), and he will help you if need be. 2. Check if they can ship it to you before purchase, just in case, shipping might be expensive. 3. Take care selecting your options on your pen (specifically nib and colour)
