- IPS global has put together a simple video on how to replace the pick-up rollers and separation pad on the HP CP2025, CM2320, M351, M375, M451 and M475 printer. Visit our website at www.ipsg7.com for more troubleshooting tips and videos.
Your video and a $10 part just saved me bigtime. Even 12 years later, it's GOLD! I had the parts replaced in 5 minutes and no more blasted invisible paper jams! Thank you for the concise instructions!
I have had my CP 2025n for Y E A R S and I love it. After my last toner change, it kept cleaning and misprinting between every page. After some investigation, looks like a needed the pick-up rollers and separation pad. Found them on the jungle store that starts with an 'A' for under $10. Then I found your instructions. That first clip was a bear to get off, but I gently pried and inserted two flathead screw drivers onto each side to keep them open and then I was able to pull the roller out. You saved me from buying a new printer. Thank you so much for posting this.
Thanks for the video! Wish there was a way to zoom in to show how you put in the separator part as mine broke off a while back ago so I wasnt able to remove it like you did in your video but after watching that section a bunch of times, I was able to see how you place it back in The printer now works like a champ! Saved us from buying a whole new printer by spending $10 on parts. Thanks again, keep up the great work!
I'm still working on these old printers at our school. I much appreciate this old video! Thanks IPS
Thanks . Direct and to the point. This worked. You make the pull out of the pick roller easy. I got my daughter to help and we used two screw drivers (one held each) to pull back those white clips. Then rolled it forward but not as smoothly as you did.
I greatly appreciate this. One other thing. I used MG Chemicals 408C Rubber Renue to try and restore the pick roller. Did not buy a new one. We shall see. Thanks again.
Thank you. It worked!! I was thinking of replacing the printer but now it took only $15 to fix the printer
I also wanted to note that removing the color toners before flipping it on the back wil prevent any toner from spilling
Thanks for the great video. New rollers solved my issue and your video made it easy to install them and is strait to the point. Bravo and Thanks!!
Yes, video's very helpful, you'll likely need to replay it a couple of times. The larger roller's was a challenge to remove but it finally came out. The replacement part's less than $5. I did get the printer to work after cleaning the roller with rubbing alcohol but not sure how long that fix would last. I did order a new roller. Appreciate the video.
Best instruction video in RUclips. Took me the the length of the video to completed. Precise concise and fast. Cheers
Thank you so much. Really helped very very much I appreciate it
Also I wanted to know that removing the toners before flipping it on the back will prevent any toner from spelling
Excellent video; saved me a lot of money. The only point to note is that the separation roller has a bar on the left side so it has to go in the right way. Otherwise, thanks a lot!
I acquired the CP2025, and removed the feed tyre (undo one extra clip) turned tyre half turn and refitted. Thanks.
Thank you! I bought the parts but had no idea how to install them. You saved me a lot of time fiddling with the printer.
Thank you very much! Two printers back from the dead - much appreciated.
Yeah I finally quit using the printer & spent so much time fiddling, resetting printer & looking for the supposed paper jam - which there isn't one at all.
Just followed these instructions for the second time. Fixed the problems I was having with mis-prints and paper jams in tray 2.
Those clips on the pick-up roller are murderous. Jammed my fingernails when I did it as shown. I used a pair of pliers to hold them open, which protected my fingers and gave me a hand free to pull on the roller.
This helped me replace my rollers, thank you!
Thank you for making this video it was a great help & easy to follow
Regards
Steve UK London
Thank you very much! Straightforward and precise explanations
Thanks for this. On my unit, it prints one page, then just makes a whining noise after that. Any idea what's wrong? It seems the "cap" for the separation roller can be installed two different ways. I tried both, I think. Any other ideas what could be wrong?
Спасибо Thank you very much! Russia with Love))
Thank you so much for your video. It's working after I did like you do.
The video is very helpful I was able to replace the rollers easily because of it. Do you have a recommendation to make the rollers last longer? Like to reduce the dust or to somehow clean them periodically? we have several of this exact model and wondering what could be done in that regard. Thanks!
Great Idea to touch the new rollers with your fingers - will make the next deal earlier
I think my printer has the same issue. Where can I order the pickup roller?
For the life of me i cant get the small roller back in correctly . Wish there was a more detailed view of the removal and replacement.
2021 e me ajudou. Muito obrigado. Brazil
This fixed my problem..thank you
I have a Canon ImageClass MF 8280CW and I think it uses the same Canon engine as the HP in your video. Do you know how to get to the feed roller replacement in the secret service menu on this machine? I want the rollers advanced to where I can replace them. THANKS!
Will this work for cp5225
Hello I have a printer hp m479 and I have the same.problem how can I fix it?
I have a CP 2025 that at first would not pickup paper at all, replaced pickup roller and fixed the sticky solenoid. Now it will pickup the first page (tray 2) every time, but 9 out of 10 times tray 2 jam on the second page. Tray 1 works as expected multi page. Is there another area that needs attention? Is the cheap pickup roller from Amazon a possible problem?
have the exact same issue down to the wire. trying to repair this for a customer so let me know if you have come across anything
It intermittent, occasionally it can print 10 pages without any difficulty. It prints from tray one perfectly. @@primarycomputer
It was the Amazon Pickup Roller Kit. I picked another CP2025 and decided to move the "new" pickup parts from the abandoned printer to the new one. Problem moved with the pickup rollers. @@primarycomputer
@@welcome741 Glad to hear you fixed it out. i swapped out the rollers however that wasnt the only issue i had to change paper type and weight settings to get it to fix.
According to the HP website, you should be careful when handling the Pick rollers with your hands-- you don't want to get excess oils from your fingers on them. Secondly, it also says specifically not to flip the unit completely on it's back like you did. This can cause excess toner to enter the mirrors and it's all over if that happens. Otherwise, thanks for the video.
good instruction video
Thanks you for the video!
I have a Problem on My HP5225 , The Paper is Stucking inside sometimes. I I need to pull up everytime it stucks inside. That make me very nervous. Is it the PRoblem Isue with the Pick Up Rollers?
I'm unable to get the 2ndary Pick Roller menu display
I have installed print roller and smaller roller on cp2025dn but when I did a print it pulled several pages while printing. I figured I did something wrong so I attempted to start over from the begining in order to reset the rollers.
1. I pressed OK at Ready, then menu display shows "Setup Menu Reports"
2. I press OK and Menu displays "Setup Menu 2ndary Services"
3. I pressed OK and menu displays "2ndary Service Reports"
4. I pressed OK again and menu displays "Service Reports Cont. Self-Test"
5. I pressed OK again and menu displays "Cont. Self-Test [Cancel] To Stop"
It then attempts to print a report but will not feed paper.
6. I press cancel and start over but it keeps repeating at step 4.
PROBLEM:
I'm unable to get back to the "2ndary Pick Roller" menu display in order to reset the rollers.
Great video! Thank you
Thank you!
pc with window 10 showing unavailable driver for my new printer hp2025.what i should do?
Read somewhere that perhaps cleaning the pick up roller(for cp 2025) with rubbing alcohol could fix it instead of replacing it first would you recommend that?
Rubbing alcohol will work as a temporary fix. Ultimately the roller will need to be replaced.
Indeed, that worked for me, wiping the roller with the rubbing alcohol. Presume it 'perks up' the rubber so its tacky enough to pick up the paper. Not knowing how long that would last I ordered the part.
Fixed! ... thx !
There are no white release tabs on my 1525. Does that mean it didn't rotate? the 2ndry service choice is now not available
Hi there!! I changed the rollers like in the video, but then the paper get stuck before pass the transfer belt, any idea to solve this?
Will this fix work on an HP Color LaserJet CP1518ni printer experiencing paper pickup problems?
Nice video, Have you or anyone here had the M2025 or M451 make a loud squeaking noise while printing? If so what was the solution?
Thanks!!
Hi my name is Marlon i am from Trinidad & Tobago i have a Hp 2025dn and i am getting a light red print on the sides of my print, it's just a faint red i can only print small if i print on an 81/2 x 11 sheet of paper it will have a red print to the both edge can you help me with this please.
Never Flip a CP2025 on it's back. Toner will fall on to the laser scanner and time to buy a new cp2025.
Thanks for the tip! I didn't read this comment until after servicing my machine. I also read this tip in the HP service manual after I had already serviced the printer. Fortunately, I don't think I did much harm as I had taken the toner out of the machine and was very gentle when moving the printer around.
Did a CP1515 yesterday and I emptied the printer of toner cartridges and popped it on it's side. I noticed that the video didn't include a print test :) I'm sure the guy new this but you're right very bad practice.
How can this be done wiyh out putting it on its back
Jordan Meacham just lay it against a wall on a small table... than you have easy access to the parts. because the printer is so heavy weight, its stable enough
On its side perhaps? Or is that also going to contaminate the scanner?
know where I can get the complete part number for this printer? please.. thks
Any idea what todo when the roller will not rotate? When I press ok on the menu option to "rotate roller" nothing happens, i hit it again and it exits the selection.
What do you know about cleaning and misprint issue on the cp2025
You get a message every couple of pages, correct? This can be caused by a variety of problems from the software to the rollers, but we suggest checking your settings in your software first, such as HP ToolboxFX or the embedded web server, you may also try updating your firmware, or resetting printer drivers to 'default.' I wish I could be more specific, we will add this issue to our 'to do' list of videos.
Is it easy to replace ITB (transfer belt) on this printer? I look around and it does not look obvious.
I asked on of our technicians and he said it is not an easy replacement. The transfer belt is considered a lifetime component on the CP2025, and is rarely replaced, sorry.
thank you
thanks for your video you look professional , i want your help regarding my problem I am having a service point for these kind of printers and mfps .In these days i am facing a problem in hp mfp 2320 there is a problem of paper feeding . I replaced paper feeding roller but not separation pad when i want to get more than one print it prints only ope page and next will not pick and give paper jam message. Please guide me to solve the problem. regards
I have a HP CP2025 and wanted to know if you could tell me why the paper on one side comes out creased or wrinkled? I think it could be the fuser but wanted some ideas. Thank you
+Matthew Wilson
Yes, it is most likely the fuser assembly causing the issue. Unfortunately, it is not a serviceable part
so the device is basically reaching end of life.
Well done thank you
thanks a lot.
I have 2 CP2025's both paperfeed-error drawer 1 and 2, after upgrading newest firmware : NO PROBLEMS !!
The VERY FIRST thing you do is remove the paper from the tray or just pull out the tray. I was unable to get it into the 2ndary Service menu until I remove it.
I screwed up my 2025 by putting it on the carpet, not realizing the gear on the bottom is snagging carpet fabric. Now it only work intermittently making clicking sounds when powering on.
It shows "Menu access is disabled"
The pickup roller is not the same on both sides. This video does not show which side to insert left or right. The guy's hands are in the way. He also did not show the pickup roller close enough to show what to look for when putting it back in. He just pulled it out and put it back in without turning it around. Try pulling it out and spinning it around, then explain which side goes left or right. One side has a hook, the other doesnt.
I note the 10 tips for you
HP LaserJet Pro 400 m40ld , paper jam in cartridge, but it has no paper jam in. Now, I watching in youtube not see this problem
Service says not to put on back but I dont understand how you can do it without outting on back
Remove the toner cartridges first.
very halpfuly
It looks pretty easy here how to remove the pick roller by "just pulling the two tabs to the side". Ha, ha - that actually doesn't work, the two tabs are too firm, no chance!
JOE GMY i used two screwdrivers to put the two tabs to the side and used a finger to pull it out, that finally worked...
+JOE GMY It's firm but doable if you have some fingernails
It sounds like the roller is not positioned for replacement. The same thing happened to me. I had unplugged the printer after I had thought I rotated the roller. What I think ended up doing the trick to get the roller in position, unfortunately, was to do a hard VRAM reset of my printer. My configuration was pretty easy, so it wasn't going to be too big of a deal to reconfigure things. Once I reset everything, I had noticed the roller had rotated in its proper position for me to get it out.
Side note: I could clearly notice there was nothing going on when I tried to rotate the roller through the printer menus.
Hello, can the system that detects toner be removed from the hp cp2025 printer?
In my printer, the guides that move those mechanisms broke and sometimes it doesn't recognize the toner.
