This video hit home for me! As a person who comes from a community which shuns disability. It took me years to accept it! Thank you!

This is full of wisdom and compassion and wonderful basics that are not at all "cheesey," as you put it. Because I have been guy that guy who didn't reach out very well when I faced a few challenges. So, Cindy Schaffner, that's still a very worthy Ground Zero reminder. As a newspaper reporter, I've written about loads of disability awareness folks over the past 30-plus years. And you have a real heart for this, and the practicality to be an educator for many. You go!

Thank you so much for those kind words! This is so new for me and I have so much to learn. But I am excited by this new project and hope that I can make some difference.

Great to hear you share your experiences and advice! And it's GOOD advice even for those of us with NO physical disabilities. I think everyone struggles with feelings of inadequacy and doubt. But it has got to be incredibly difficult dealing with those along with a physical disability. I know from having grown up with Brian Blair that it humbled me more times than I can count to see him always moving forward with the most positive attitude I've ever seen in a person despite his own disability! So powerful words in your video post to be sure. Keep at it and you'll have a growing audience to speak to.

Thanks for the honesty I its tough and I still struggle with using my cane sometimes too.

    • @SeeingBlind

Yes, excepting the label the cane automatically presents was a huge barrier for me. I really appreciate connecting to others who can relate and understand that struggle because it was a huge issue for many years. 💜 👩‍🦯
