People have been falling off cliffs in Tenerife for at least 25 years that I know of, I lived there for years when Palmer ruled the roost. The clumpers were known to take timeshare workers that had upset the wrong people into the mountains for a fall when they played up. Some would come back with broken arms legs etc and get treatment payed for, some didn't (Depending on the level of discipline ordered). Some washed up on the beaches. The guardia civil have never given a toss about foreigner's, they were either on the take or turned a blind eye.
