    Dude the new edits are awesome. Every video is an improvement over the previous. Keep up the great work. Thank you for getting me into this hobby. My wallet hates you though.

    I like a chill gunpla video (& channel) like this. Feels like we’re along for the ride and less just getting reviewed at.

      Thank you so much!!! That's really the vibe I've been trying for, that's the kind of video I prefer too :)

    What's going on with YT lately? This just now popped in my feed for new videos.
    Anyways this brings back memories. This was the first gunpla kit that I ever built, I still have it and its box. I thought about rebuilding it and fixing my mistakes, but I also like having it as a memento of how far I've grown as a builder.

    • @LiamsHobbyRoom
      @LiamsHobbyRoom  5 месяцев назад

      I totally understand the dilemma! I really wish I still had some of the first kits I painted for just that reason.
      To answer your first question, RUclips really doesn't favour creators at my "low level" so to speak, and would rather suggest content outside your algorithm than that of little creators like me haha

    I was hoping someone would make a video on the old Gundam wing kits, I remember seeing them in Toys R Us in the states but I never got one since I bought into Zoids instead
    Little did I know parents were bewildered by the fact that you had to build them at the time.

    Man I really want the Agg. But I fear the difficulty xD
    And great video! 🧡
    My first experience with Gundam I had 2003 or 2004 with Gundam Wing on the german TV channel Tele 5. Came after Captain Future.

      Modification can be difficult, but I find it best to just take things really slow. I really enjoy thinking up how to solve certain problems in creative ways.
      Also, Captain Future! I recognize the name but not the show. I don't know if it aired in Canada back in the day.

    Altron was mine, bought at a Canadian Walmart. I remember knowing nothing about primer and trying to paint the model kit directly with testors enamel paint (also sold at Walmart) with little success lol.

      Oh man, THIS!! I did exactly the same thing, I wish I still had the kit I painted. It was a goopy, sticky mess hahaha

    Man this brings back memories. I have an old NG 1/144 Wing Gundam sitting in the back log for just this kind of build! Exact same story, my grandparents took me to Toys R Us in 2000 and I picked up the Wing Gundam and have never looked back.
    Also just spent hours fixing the HGAC Wing Zeros binders so there is not a hinge sticking out of them like this versions.

    • @LiamsHobbyRoom
      @LiamsHobbyRoom  6 месяцев назад

      It is so cool that so many of us had this special experience! Thanks for sharing :)
      That hinge on the HGAC is such a lazy addition hey? I have one I'll have to mod too! I'd love to see your mod.

    Really cool techniques being used, and I appreciate you talking through the decisions you make! Modding kits like this has always been so fascinating to me, one day I'll try my hand at it.

      @LiamsHobbyRoom  6 месяцев назад

      Thanks so much Weston!! The next video will be more legible and better organized, I find the mod section in this one a little helter-skelter due to my rambling haha. But modding is super fun, I highly recommend it!

    I've been working through some Metal Armor dragonar Kits that originated from the 80's...These old kits make you appreciate modern kits sooooo much lol. Looking forward to the finished product mon ami!

      Ah yes! I have the Schwalg, keep meaning to do something with it one day. The modern kits are very well engineered, but I really love the charm of the older ones :)

    This is amazing!! I also grew up with this kit, rebought it about 10 years ago, built it half way intending to mod it and just a few days ago put it in a pile of things to take to a Goodwill.. I might have to pull it out of that bin and follow along with you on this kit!
    I was excited to go to your channel for part 2 but realized this was just uploaded 15 hours ago! Can't wait to see where you take this.

      @@LiamsHobbyRoom this part was, I've only been straight building so far but I'm slowly amassing modelling tools and materials so watching your process is super helpful :)
      I've got an extremely knackered old 90s/early 00s NG 1/100 heavy arms custom missing all of its accessories and a few of the hatch doors that is crying out for some love after stepping back to the hobby after a 20 year break.

    I remember that Gundam model commercial. If the “HG” 1/100 Altron is level 5, what level is a PG Zeta Gundam? (BTW I remember counting the parts on the PG/ZG and it came to nearly 800 individual pieces)

    • @LiamsHobbyRoom
      @LiamsHobbyRoom  5 месяцев назад

      Man, the levels seemed so arbitrary... Was there actually a rubric they used to grade them?

  • @OliverPewPewPew
    @OliverPewPewPew 4 месяца назад +1

    I still have this kit. I hate the peg in the wings. But that's understandable given that its a no grade 1/144. I'm planning to make a diorama out of my old 1/144 Gundam series

    • @LiamsHobbyRoom
      @LiamsHobbyRoom  4 месяца назад +1

      Ooo! That's an awesome idea! I came up with a couple mod solutions for the wings, and we chatted in the discord about some other methods. I'm not sure if I'll end up executing them, it depends on how I want to display the kit.

  • @apocalypticsurvivor6111

    I can see a few similarities with this and the more modern Hg and a few things that I feel should have been on the newer kit, namely the ankle joint with its swivel joint

    Have you ever thought of having other builders come on and show their work? I think that could be pretty cool

    • @LiamsHobbyRoom
      @LiamsHobbyRoom  6 месяцев назад +1

      Actually, yes! My discord server is doing our first group build, and I'll show images of our member's kits when I upload my own group build video!
      If I collaborate it would be with other creators with their own socials, and would likely be interview style. There are lots of logistical concerns with having guest modelers on the channel, namely I film in my home which is a pretty sacred space!
