Good to be back to Yes2Next and discover that the daily yard work I did all summer was a good strength builder and over all health improvement. Lifting small buckets of landscape rocks and digging out bushes helped build muscle.

This was a good strength routine for my arms. I especially like the arm circles-wow! I really felt them. I know older women often lose mobility in their shoulders. We must fight for our mobility because we NEED our shoulders to get through all of our everyday activities. Thanks for the workout! BTW, purely by accident our workout outfits and weight colors matched today. Long way to go before I approach your fitness, though. LOL.

The last time that I had rotator cuff surgery was 8 years ago and I continue to do the PT exercises twice a week, but I need to push myself to do more. I enjoy your routines and they are not boring. Your videos are the best. I like waking, but I'm very sensitive to heat, so in South Alabama with upper 90s and over 100, I can't walk outside without passing out. I've been looking for something to do at home at least 30 minutes a day and these are perfect. Thank you

This one is a great work out. I like the heavier weights which are what I used to work with. Your work outs are interesting, more 'relaxed", not overly strenuous. I finally did this workout as Day 6 of the 7 Day Intermediate Workout Challenge! I was exactly a week off schedule, but I'm glad I finally got to it, and I hope I'll be able to work out more consistently next week than I have the last two weeks. I did everything standing, including the wall push-ups like Aiko and the triceps overhead exercise like April. I used 5-pound weights for most of the dumbbell exercises but used two 3-pound weights for the triceps exercise, because I'm already used to doing that. I got a head start on most of the exercises during the explanations, so I did about 20-25 repetitions of each, except for the arm circles. I tried to keep my steps up between exercises and during the arm circles too, and I added one of your 5-minute HIIT workouts afterward for extra cardio and weight-loss effort. (I'm still struggling to lose those extra 10 pounds.) I'm excited to be approaching the gentle Day 7 stretch! (Friday, Jan. 19, 2024)

This is a really g.r.e.a.t. upper body strength workout. I did 20 reps for each move using 5 lb. weights. I prefer doing my pushups using the back of a chair rather than against the wall. As for the circles, I increased them in the last circuit. This tells me that I'm keeping abreast of my upper body strength requirements, and thank you both for bringing me so far!...Anastasia

Here is an example of a thick mat that is easy on the body: amzn.to/4f78zU2 Regarding fitness wearables, there are many good choices to help generally keep track of steps, calories burned, distance, heart rate, etc. We both have Apple iWatches and like the concept of "closing our rings" everyday. Hi there! Your body gains and loses weight where it wants to. Everyone is different and hormones and menopause can affect this as well. Losing pounds at your stomach and overall occurs when you decrease calories through a healthy diet and burn calories with exercise. If you have done our high intensity interval training (HIIT) workouts or any of our workouts with moderate intensity, you are working on blasting belly fat! HIIT workouts burn more calories/fat in a shorter period of time. They include raising and lowering your heart rate in intervals such as 30 seconds of exercise -- at the end of an exercise interval you should be a little out of breath. I recommend doing HIIT workouts 1 to 3 times a week with at least one day of rest between each session to let your body recover. This was a good strength routine for my arms. I especially like the arm circles-wow! I really felt them. I know older women often lose mobility in their shoulders. We must fight for our mobility because we NEED our shoulders to get through all of our everyday activities. Thanks for the workout! BTW, purely by accident our workout outfits and weight colors matched today. Long way to go before I approach your fitness, though. LOL.

Thank you. I did get thru the routine, but only using 5 lb weights. I am trying to improve my strength, but at 76 with bad shoulders, it is challenging. The last time that I had rotator cuff surgery was 8 years ago and I continue to do the PT exercises twice a week, but I need to push myself to do more. I enjoy your routines and they are not boring. Your videos are the best. I like waking, but I'm very sensitive to heat, so in South Alabama with upper 90s and over 100, I can't walk outside without passing out. I've been looking for something to do at home at least 30 minutes a day and these are perfect. Thank you

This one is a great work out. I like the heavier weights which are what I used to work with. Your work outs are interesting, more 'relaxed", not overly strenuous. Because the workouts are not too difficult for me, I do them almost everyday, and look forward to them. Hope you will have more workouts using heavier weights. Thanks.

I finally did this workout as Day 6 of the 7 Day Intermediate Workout Challenge! I was exactly a week off schedule, but I'm glad I finally got to it, and I hope I'll be able to work out more consistently next week than I have the last two weeks. I did everything standing, including the wall push-ups like Aiko and the triceps overhead exercise like April. I used 5-pound weights for most of the dumbbell exercises but used two 3-pound weights for the triceps exercise, because I'm already used to doing that. I got a head start on most of the exercises during the explanations, so I did about 20-25 repetitions of each, except for the arm circles. I tried to keep my steps up between exercises and during the arm circles too, and I added one of your 5-minute HIIT workouts afterward for extra cardio and weight-loss effort. (I'm still struggling to lose those extra 10 pounds.) I'm excited to be approaching the gentle Day 7 stretch! (Friday, Jan. 19, 2024)

This is a really g.r.e.a.t. upper body strength workout. I did 20 reps for each move using 5 lb. weights. I prefer doing my pushups using the back of a chair rather than against the wall. As for the circles, I increased them in the last circuit. This tells me that I'm keeping abreast of my upper body strength requirements, and thank you both for bringing me so far!...Anastasia

This was great! I'll admit I prefer cardio, but I also know strength training is needed, esp for us over 50. This was very doable. I used 5 lb weights. Thank you! ❤

Can you recommend a mat that would be good for floor exercises, and whether added knee mats are a good idea? What thickness is adequate? Also, what are the benefits of the sports watches you both wear and what should I look for when/if buying one? Hi Barbara! Our apologies for the delay in replying. A good yoga mat will work nicely for the floor exercises, and if needed, knee mats can be helpful. Here is an example of a thick mat that is easy on the body: amzn.to/4f78zU2 Regarding fitness wearables, there are many good choices to help generally keep track of steps, calories burned, distance, heart rate, etc. We both have Apple iWatches and like the concept of "closing our rings" everyday. Hi there! Your body gains and loses weight where it wants to. Everyone is different and hormones and menopause can affect this as well. Losing pounds at your stomach and overall occurs when you decrease calories through a healthy diet and burn calories with exercise.
If you have done our high intensity interval training (HIIT) workouts or any of our workouts with moderate intensity, you are working on blasting belly fat! HIIT workouts burn more calories/fat in a shorter period of time. They include raising and lowering your heart rate in intervals such as 30 seconds of exercise -- at the end of an exercise interval you should be a little out of breath. I recommend doing HIIT workouts 1 to 3 times a week with at least one day of rest between each session to let your body recover.
