I still love this song after all these years. I can tell by listening to this recording of the song that it is not the original version from 1980.This sounds like a re-recording rather than the original version from 1980.I always prefer original recorded versions of a song recorded by the original artist.
Oh My, here's a great tune 🎶🎶 and wonderful memories. ❤ From the time this was released in June 1980 from the soundtrack from Urban Cowboy, this was an instant hit. Johnny with his rich Southern baritone voice, with thick phrasing, inspires instant appeal with his genuine personality just coming through as he sings this hit. The beautiful lyrics and wonderful country charm displayed by the great back up singers and addictive instruments made this a massive hit. Timeless masterpiece. Great reaction Harri. Thanks Harri and Daniel 👏👏 Cheers from Canada 🇨🇦
Written by veteran Nashville songwriter/singer Bob Morrison based on lyrics sent to him by two Gulfport, Mississippi school teachers, one whose brother had gone to school in Biloxi with Bob. Johnny Lee had been a mainstay act at Mickey Gilley's nightclub in Pasadena, Texas when Lee was offered "Looking for Love" after 20-odd country stars had turned it down. Thanks Daniel & Harri.
Beautiful song, but don't forget "The Devil Went Down to Georgia" and "Lyin' Eyes." Lots of great music in this movie, even tho I'm not normally a country fan.
1980 urban cowboy mov. II know Johnny. I'm a piano player nashville jelly roll my nickname, Yeah thirty years prior to the famous big guy we now have, Nice song

Hey Daniel. I must admit there was a time when I considered myself to be too cool for songs like this. Now, it just sounds great. Nice choice. Great reaction. Thanks Daniel and Harri. 🌺✌️
Thanks, Bestie- even though I'm in Oklahoma, I only like some country, but I've always liked this song. I like ballads, classic rock, folk rock, light alternative.
Awesome country song. This "Urban Cowboy" movie made me seek out taking country two-step dance lessons and line dance lessons. 🙂 Great request, Daniel, and great reaction, Harri!
They were at Mickey Gilley’s …one of the three cousins. The other two being Jimmy Swaggert and the GREAT Jerry Lee Lewis. The all grew up in Ferriday Louisiana.
We have used many lines from the movie in our every day vernacular . "Fine fergit it." "My legs are sweatin' mamma," " (Sissy to Bud" Do you two step" to which Bud says "Yep" after a few moments she says" Wanna prove it" Great movie. 😉
I never liked country music until I saw this movie and fell in love with it and the soundtrack. Every song in that album is fabulous! Check out "Cherokee Fiddle" next by Johnny Lee, it's my favorite on the whole album.
Love the song. The movie Urban Cowboy had a wonderful sound track. I have watched this movie probably 20 times and never gets old.

My brother played drums for Johnny Lee back in the day. It was an exciting time. YeeHaw! from Houston, Texas home of Gillet’s featured in the movie.
Try Ronnis Milsap "there's no getting over me". Excellent vintage country!
❤❤ this song takes me back! Great request....
My mom was a big country fan. This was the first concert I ever saw. Johnny Lee, Mickey Gilley, and Eddie Rabbit.
We saw Kenny Rogers, Loretta Lynn, and John Caferty and the Beaver Brown Band (Eddie and the Cruisers real band) there the next year.
Nostalgia & Memories!!! One of those songs that never leaves your memory!

The soundtrack for Urban Cowboy was a bestseller. My favorite track is Could I Have This Dance by the wonderful Anne Murray.
One of the most famous “hooks” of all time. Used countless times in comedy 🎭
John travolta, That's who were watching
My favorite movie
Awesome country song. This "Urban Cowboy" movie made me seek out taking country two-step dance lessons and line dance lessons. 🙂 Great request, Daniel, and great reaction, Harri!
Thanks Marcus for the kind remarks.
Classic
My coming of age movie. I saw it at least 3 times at the drive-in, in 1980-81. The girls lived it!😂
They were at Mickey Gilley’s …one of the three cousins. The other two being Jimmy Swaggert and the GREAT Jerry Lee Lewis. The all grew up in Ferriday Louisiana.
Fire ❤

Urban Cowboy craze
The movie and soundtrack were HUGE! I have to watch the movie a couple times a year.
Looking for love in Alderan places. :)
I've been a Johnny fan for decades and to be honest this sounds like it may be a re-recorded version maybe. A lot of older singers do that
Ahhh… Bubba and Sissy ❤
Harri, this club was awesome back in the day before it burned down. It was. Gillys. Nite club. Mickey gilly was a country legend..
Urban Cowboy. Great movie. Mickey Gilley was in it also.
Boy meets girl
Falls in love
Breaks up
Get back together
I love it
❤❤❤❤❤
Great song. Johnny Lee is now on his farewell tour. Quite a voice from the 80s .
Debra Winger 🔥
This doesn't sound like the original recording from 1980.I still love the song though.
Urban Cowboy soundtrack is fantastic. Movie's pretty good as well.
I must confess, I looked in a lot of wrong places back in the day 🤩
Cherokee Fiddle next.
Wonder which movie John Travolta made the most money in...Urban Cowboy .or Saturday Night Fever.??
Or Grease?
Definitely not Battlefield Earth
It's a song about a sheep farmer.
I never liked country music until I saw this movie and fell in love with it and the soundtrack. Every song in that album is fabulous! Check out "Cherokee Fiddle" next by Johnny Lee, it's my favorite on the whole album.
Went out drinking with Johnny Lee in the 1990s. I like this song but I didn't like him... cocky and weird
