I can't agree with your 'Little by Little' comment, I think you're selling yourself short, the amount of work that you've put in to get that crusty old chassis looking as good as that is a real credit to your tenacity and sheer hard work, and a huge step forward. I've subscribed and now binge watching from Ep 1 while in Covid lockdown (Oct 2020) here in Wales UK.
This thing is going to soooo cool when done! Funny,I'd bet you would hard pressed to fine one driver is one hundred would know how to drive a two stick.I do it's what I learned on over fifty years ago.I sure miss the good old days.
I just started watching your channel about a week ago and i have a tip for you if you want to polish your own wheels , take baking soda and diesel after you wash your rims real nice and use an s.o.s pad and they will clean up really nice the baking soda actually prevents it from scrating try it out man it'll save you so much money man I've always done that with aluminum wheels then just take dish soap after and clean the residue off
Just trying to help you save a few bucks brother i cant wait til that ole girl is done your doing great progress ! Keep going . I really think the clean roof top is a great idea but keep the orginal parts stored away if you cant use them and id actually worry about someone stealing that sleeper at the end of your driveway .... well here in the states someone would do something like that or take the emblems off the sides , just clear coat it a couple times and sand the oxidation if its all aluminum primer it keep it the way it is and make it a tree house for the kid's? ? Make your own nose make a wooden deck for it to sit on in the tree make a steering column couple seats and make the tree fort Pete!!!!
Looking good. Yeah im a TIA instructor, and stone drilling can trash a tire due to the stones will work there way to the cords and cause the cords to rust and will weeken the tire and cause the tire to blow up when airing the tire up.
Been watching your videos from day one this really brings back memories from of my dad's truck my dad had a 84 359 400 Cummins 15 speed Lovin the way the truck is turning can't wait to see the finished product keep up the good work talk to you later buddy and that is my uncles 77 Kenworth w900a as my profile pic Peterbilts and Kenworths are my favorite big trucks and always will be and I like Macks 2👍😀👍💚
I personally would not have gone with re-treads but I get the whole rebuilding a pete is costly thing...I look forward to watching your project progress
Nice work on the aux shifter. Nothing worse than trying to drive when they are worn so bad they get stuck in the middle. Drove an old KW that did that at least once a day. If you got the least bit sloppy it would jam up.
Really looking forward to watching this restore Back in late 70's Friends dad brought home a new Pete similar to this it had a 318 Detroit andand a couple years after that my friend took over drivng that pete his dad had a small brokerage 2 or 3 trucks goin same time and was a military trained mechanic and friend also cot his mechanics license so I saw a lot of service work done as well as helped out some went on a few hauls with him and that rtruck rolled on for years n years and never seemed to age in looks as they kept their equipment in top shape always I recognized the body style of your 359 as similar not sure of exact age of buddys pete but close the dash looks a bit different and the head light if I recall where double round seald beam set mounted off the rad grill side Beautiful memories thank you looking forward to seeing more and I subscribe. BTW you and Ron Pratt (Midwest Towing) are the only 2 channels I subscribe too as I pick my channels carefully Nice work looking forward for more
Time and money. I don't have enough for my own build projects so watch a couple of others for fun and you learn something once in a while and Peterbuilts have their own following. They literally don't make em like that anymore, plus when I saw the first pics it was hard to tell if it was going to be worth doing.
👍 good work progress! Why didn't you shoot a video showing sandblasting, colouring and so on!? Also mounting the ingenious shifter CNC parts. Would have loved to watch more steps of progress. Good luck.
WOW !!! Frame rails look good. Lots of work. Are you going to replace all the air lines and some wiring that run down the frame rails ? Looking good. Thx for the update.
Dillan Crowder haha would have taken a lot of rattle cans 😂 I used an air sprayer to put down trenclad primer then flat black mostly because it was cheap and I can touch it up with a rattle can ... I plan to use a higher end paint on #projectsnowman if I’m able to paint indoors 👍
oi maty thats a nice truck look after her i know a lot bout them they have ten gears they have a ten speed not 13 or 18 like people say and that truck is a beauty
May I ask what your budget is and where you are on the budget money wise. Would love to do a project like this but curious as what kind of cost it will take.
By the time I get it where I want I’ll probably be like $40k in ... probably in the $15k neighbourhood right now. Everything is costing more than I expected though so may end up going even higher but what a rig she’ll be 😎
I have all updates arranged by Season S1=2017, S2=2018 and then by episode E1,E2, etc. I aim to put a new episode up each month but always depends on how much work I get done since the last update
Gonna keep the frame and suspension flat black ... nice offset with polished aluminum and SS ... truck and sleeper will be matching metallic sovereign blue ... see sleeper colour in earlier video
colin ford no worries ... just click on the 359 Twinsticks circle avatar with the picture of the steering wheel under the thumbs up and down just under the video and it’ll take you to my channel with all the episodes
Thanks very much mate. Love watching you bringing that old Pete back to life. I’ve loved American trucks since I was a kid 🧒 especially Pete 359 good luck fella regards Col south London 👍👍
It’s too far gone ... lots of damage and would take more time and $ than I’d like to spend on it. I’m still kicking the idea around if stealing that rare cap and slapping it on the refurbished sleeper I bought
You didn't tells us what's under the hood. I would have forward engineered a RTLO 18918B into that truck. Even a used one would have been better. As far as those old twin stick transmissions go, I'm glad they don't make them like they used to. Twin stick, been there , done that, got the tennis elbow to prove it. Stone drilled tires, really? Surprised he didn't tell you he couldn't mount them because it was daylight out. What a bunch of BS. You could have mounted them yourself, just to spite that clown, it's not tough. Any more than three and he wouldn't mount them, my God, I would have sent that crook home crying. He wanted to sell you new tires. Make sure you check the forward cab mounts, no fun going down the road with your cab bouncing off the frame. Hood hinge bushings too, don't want that hood wiggling around and laying on the bumper. Replace all the fuel lines too, the Bio diesel eats the rubber out of the old ones, no fun sucking air and having fuel seeping out of your fuel lines. Jack that front end up and check your king pins. Probably better if you drive it around first and limber them up though, then check, if you haven't already.
3406 A block Agreed he probably did want to sell new ones but the ones I found look like they’ll work well Got new urethane hood bushings - just need to put them in Good tip on cab bushings ... will check Plan on replacing all air and fuel lines front to back before driving Thanks for your feedback
Cab mounts are right in the front corners, and look like a hockey puck cut half as thin as normal, they weather and crack. Got any idea how many miles are on that 3406? Would run it for a week or so, like a few thousand miles, then pull an oil sample (hot) and send it to Caterpillar. It's been sitting a while, cylinder liners can be a problem. Wouldn't hurt to replace all the slack adjusters, it's been sitting a long time. I found the rest of your videos. Those tires you have now will be fine, I have a small square drive socket for the inner nut on those ball and seat Bud wheels, it works better than a combination socket, the combo socket can jump if your not pushing down hard on it, and round off the square drive. They are cheap, and easier to use is all. Truck looks in nice shape, it should be on the road again.
A lot of positive things have happened to the Little By Little 359 Peterbilt truck. Great job!
I’m rerunning your old videos.
Love the sounds of the Canadian Air Force in the background.
I cannot drive and I do not know anything about truck but I have been following this truck project and I just love what he is doing
I can't agree with your 'Little by Little' comment, I think you're selling yourself short, the amount of work that you've put in to get that crusty old chassis looking as good as that is a real credit to your tenacity and sheer hard work, and a huge step forward. SWEET!!!!!!!!!!,I have a 2014 Pete 579, I would trade for this tractor in a heartbeat
I personally would not have gone with re-treads but I get the whole rebuilding a pete is costly thing...I look forward to watching your project progress
Totally awesome man! Keep it up 👍🏼👍🏼

Awesome!
You should name this truck "little by little"
Good job, I'm curious how it goes on !! Best kind regards from Germany!! 👍🏽👍🏽😀😀
Nice
Keep it up, you're almost at 1million views
Ya woulda thought there’d be so many folks interested in an old truck build ... guess there’s a lot of cool folks out there that love the old iron
Time and money. I don't have enough for my own build projects so watch a couple of others for fun and you learn something once in a while and Peterbuilts have their own following. They literally don't make em like that anymore, plus when I saw the first pics it was hard to tell if it was going to be worth doing.
nice grab of that
U should post a date of the next video so we have an idea wen to tune in !
👍 good work progress! Why didn't you shoot a video showing sandblasting, colouring and so on!? Also mounting the ingenious shifter CNC parts. Would have loved to watch more steps of progress. Good luck.
👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽. Love it.❤️
love it
Try Polished Stainless Diamond-plate for the floorboard, you HAVE to have a Floor, the Heat from the trans will FRY you like a TATER.
Cool!
heck yeah
WOW !!! Frame rails look good. Lots of work. Are you going to replace all the air lines and some wiring that run down the frame rails ? Looking good. Thx for the update.
Yup that’s the plan ... all new air lines and wiring
Hello Main frend.godt jobs.
hello cool
Looking back at this video how did you paint the frame ? Rattle can or spray gun and what type of paint ?
Dillan Crowder haha would have taken a lot of rattle cans 😂 I used an air sprayer to put down trenclad primer then flat black mostly because it was cheap and I can touch it up with a rattle can ... I plan to use a higher end paint on #projectsnowman if I’m able to paint indoors 👍
Do you use epoxy primer after sandblasting on the frame? How has the paint been holding up?
oi maty thats a nice truck look after her i know a lot bout them they have ten gears they have a ten speed not 13 or 18 like people say and that truck is a beauty
MOOOOOOOORRRRRRRRRRREEE!
Will this be like that menacing truck in the movie Duel? I assume you have the accompanying Plymouth Valiant to complete the ensemble.
Looks like a old POINTS WEST truck
Hey, truck is looking good! One quick question, who painted your frame?
👍👍👍👍👍👍
👌
May I ask what your budget is and where you are on the budget money wise. Would love to do a project like this but curious as what kind of cost it will take.

hey any progress is progress!
Time lapse of the reassembly?
Put dates on your descriptions please!
I have all updates arranged by Season S1=2017, S2=2018 and then by episode E1,E2, etc. I aim to put a new episode up each month but always depends on how much work I get done since the last update
Any idea what colour you might paint it if you do paint it?
Gonna keep the frame and suspension flat black ... nice offset with polished aluminum and SS ... truck and sleeper will be matching metallic sovereign blue ... see sleeper colour in earlier video
What do you do for income?
How do I view all the vids ? I’m not very savvy with RUclips 😩😩
colin ford no worries ... just click on the 359 Twinsticks circle avatar with the picture of the steering wheel under the thumbs up and down just under the video and it’ll take you to my channel with all the episodes
Thanks very much mate. Love watching you bringing that old Pete back to life. I’ve loved American trucks since I was a kid 🧒 especially Pete 359 good luck fella regards Col south London 👍👍
Gg dud.
8v92TA?
Does it have 6x4 5x4 or 4x4
Spicer 6 + 4 double overdrive ... previous owner said other trucks couldn’t catch her when both sticks were up against the dash
Why dont you want to keep the original sleeper on it??
It’s too far gone ... lots of damage and would take more time and $ than I’d like to spend on it. I’m still kicking the idea around if stealing that rare cap and slapping it on the refurbished sleeper I bought
Dang. The door panels on ur driver door and passenger door are the same color as in my truck.
You didn't tells us what's under the hood.
