To all the oblivious people asking stupid questions : Phoenix always spawned with colors during events back in ASE as well. How I know that? I had a discord shop which sold the clones green phoenix, lavender phoenix and pink phoenix for tek (I was the original owner). Only things different from ASE are a, phoenix got legs now so can land. b, The flame of phoenix has been color coded to match the main body. As for the heatwave, you spot a phoenix in the previous heat wave , use rare flower to lure it to a suitable position( where we can build trap in pve) then wait for it to despawn at the end of heatwave, Build a trap on top of its ash and wait for the next heat wave.
@@LBCAndrew i sold level 25- 80 event colors. And my best phoenix was a solid peach 145 perfect tame. I still got the old shop.Kept for the memories :p
I tested it out by coloring a ase phoenix blue and then cryopod it, the results were in, the fire was still orange, so the color of the flame is unchangeable in ase

At ASA they took the courage to implement changes in the color of the particles according to the creature. In the phoenix, fire is controlled by color region 3, the same as the main body. If you test on the host-solo using cheats to change the color of the phoenix, you need to place it in the cryopod and then release it so that the color of the fire updates and is the same as the body.
Fortunately I've managed to tame one. I got SUPER lucky to find it. Another tribe finished taming one, and second's before the end of that heatwave a new phoenix spawned right in my face. Heatwave ended and I just sat with it where it landed. Almost 6hrs later and it was tamed. Keep hunting, don't loose heart and eventually you will find one.

Almost all the high level (145-150) phoenix's were on official PVE were clones of originals that came from either Yellowjacket or Demolish Allowed!.

I encountered it during Super hot, and then after Super hot was over scanned its landing position and built traps.

It takes luck.
YOu find them during a heat wave and at the end, carefully watch where the ashes hit, then mark it with a pillar.

the weather is pretty random so no telling when you'll get a super heat wave a jerboa will help with warning you about it

How do you get the blue phoenix?
It now spawn with extra colors, and the fire will match region 0 if not mistaken.
