I will now forever use the phrase, “Third and McConkey” for tough, must convert situations.
Once again, well done show boys. As a former scout for this organization (AJ Smith era) this teams roster finally has clear direction. It lacks elite talent in key areas like on the IDL and there is questionable depth in other key areas like WR, CB, and S. The other thing to make Chargers fans concerned is that they will be relying on journeymen, unknown, or unreliable players to have key roles ex; Edwards, Dobbins, Palmer, Fulton, Perryman, Ogbonia. The team will be better prepared, better coached, and more physical. The talent and depth won't be up to competitive standards but with Herbert and Harbaugh, they will be competitive throughout their schedule. They aren't SB contenders but there will be a visible improvement in how this team plays football.

Justin Herbert's had, on average throughout his career, the 26th ranked defense in the NFL... and his wins are at 50%. A Justin Herbert offensive can beat any team. He just needs a defense that can stop somebody
Im worried about the IDL as well… a slight positive is Otito wasn’t healthy last season and is projected to be a solid NT and showed flashes his rookie season before his bad injury. As for everyone else the jury is still out, Fox is a good interior rusher but not a big body for run support. Need a big step up from Matlock & rookie Egboigbe.
5 loses by 3 points and 3 by one score last year. Love Harbaugh. Secret weapon is Ben Herbert. They make the playoffs.

I really like the non Biased content . Especially on the defensive interior. One corner you did not mention was tarheed still. He has really impressed Derwin and minter. He picked off Herbert a couple of times and some nice pass breakups . He will be playing slot

I’m so conflicted about my chargers now. I never liked Harbaugh and probably never will, and hiring Greg Roman makes me worried we’ll never fully maximize Herbo. But clearly no one in the chargers locker room liked Staley at all. And clearly the one thing Harbaugh can do is get buy in from his players. And it has produced real results in the NFL and college. Really don’t know how this will all play out in the next couple of years.

The Chargers needed a complete cultural shift. I was so thrilled that Harbaugh got the job. May end up being our best coach in our history. Time will tell. Of course I liked Air Coryell, but Harbaugh is going to finally bring that toughness that we've been missing for so long. Now maybe we'll finally be able to win those close games that we kept losing. Not only me, but many of my Charger friends were so elated once we got the news of Harbaugh's hiring.

Last year they could have won 13 games if they had a defense. This year they're way better.
The Chargers are a 8-9 or 9-8 team this year! The defense is BAD like it’s always been for Herbert. The offense has the WORST collection of weapons he’s had. If Alt hits they’ve got the best OT tandem in the league. McConkey has potential out of the slot. QJ looks like a bust. Palmer is a replacement level guy. There’s NO JUICE there! Herbert’s big boy money kicks in after this season. No more playing with loaded dice. This is a way bigger lift than people want to admit! But at least you aren’t stuck with Tua at QB!
