As someone in a serodifferent family myself who has been involved in HIV advocacy all of my adult life, that is definitely something I would have remembered if I saw it.
Their stories keep changing. The girl said that Josius (and I wish these content creators would stop calling him “Josiah” and calling Iliana “Liliana”) allegedly admitted to having HIV in an Atlanta Street Interview video while riding in the car with Marcus. The guy said that Josius was in a video in bed saying he was very sick on the members channel, and that people were speculating in the comments that the sickness must be HIV. He later admitted that Josius NEVER confirmed those speculations. Marcus stated definitively that Josius never stated that he had HIV. There is no evidence that he has HIV and there is no reason for that to be floating around. People need to stop trying to be inflammatory.
On top of that, it is shameful and disgusting that this is even a topic of discussion. There is no evidence that he is living with HIV. But hypothetically, let’s say maybe he is (though there is absolutely no evidence of that). If he is….AND?!?! HIV is not a crime. It is a treatable chronic illness that should not be stigmatized. It’s not the end of the world. With proper treatment, people living with HIV can live long lives and thrive just like anyone else. In approximately 90 days, a person on antiretroviral treatment can become undetectable. The level of the virus in their system is so low that it is VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE FOR ANYONE ELSE TO CONTACT IT ANYWAY. So what’s the big deal? This is a verifiable fact CONFIRMED BY THE CDC and many, many, many sources. Undetectable equals untransmittable. U equals U! Which would mean that he wouldn’t be at risk of passing it to his partners, his child(ren), health care providers…anyone. Mothers living with HIV who are undetectable can literally breastfeed their babies and there isn’t a transmission risk. So even if he had it - which he probably doesn’t, as both Ebony and Josius went to get STI screening - WHO CARES?!?! This is not the 80’s. People need to get a life instead of trying to make up stuff about this boy’s serostatus. It was literally National HIV Testing Day the other day. Instead of being worried about whether Josius is HIV positive or HIV negative, maybe these people need to go get tested themselves so they can be certain of their OWN status.

I have never met Josius, but I know he has endured a lot of childhood and adult trauma, has a complicated past, and has been very open about many of the things he has done. He has openly stated that he has has condomless sex with multiple women; he has stated that he is bisexual and we know he has engaged in penetrative anal sex with at least one male; he has admitted substance use and challenges with anger. He has been pretty open about his last and about many things going on in his life. If strangers know this, why would they think someone who is dating him wouldn’t know this? You know way more about him than any of us do. It’s ridiculous to try to use these old videos to “check” you. Do they think you haven’t seen those videos after all this time? Make it make sense.

Josius is open and honest about who he is. I accept and love him wholeheartedly as he is.
