Hello! Love your art! I grew up in Marysville and lived in Arlington for a few years… I was surprised to hear you say you were from the area. I’m down south of Seattle now

Pennington--- I often find that 'less is more'. While I'm certainly not adverse to deep lush colors, more often than not, I gravitate toward monochromatics and pastels. To take it from 'ho hum' to extraordinary, I use Mayco's overglaze lusters. While a bit pricy, it moves the needle dramatically. The mother of pearl works remarkably well on white. It might just be a solution for you. A touch of gold on rims, flowers and leaves etc. bumps it towards the 'classic'--something with which I'm very comfortable. LMK if you give it a try and how it goes. Best of luck. P

I haven't used the mother of pearl, but I have used the Bright Gold and it is a lot of fun!

I use a few different ones. The white dipping glaze is from a local pottery supply, called Arctic White and the brush on is Cotton Tail from Mayco Stroke and Coat.
