    That is an old problem with VW locks. The micro-switch inside the door stops reading the lock position. If you lock the car with the key fob it will lock the doors no matter what, if you do it from the door switch it will lock and then because the door does not report it state it will unlock again. Usually if you double tap the switch in the door twice and fast it will force the door close. In the end you must remove the locking mechanism because the micro switch is inside of it. Then you can either replace it or repair the broken micro switch. My car (passat) only locks the left side of the car because the rear left door has the same problem. Does your dome light come on and off when you open and close the door?

    if you swing the door open you will see a rubber boot where the wiring is fed to the door peel back the rubber to expose the wiring see if there is any breaks or chaffs in the wiring there and check if the connector is plugged in.

    I got the same issue during fix window-motor, after putting everything back the door-lock was totally freeking :( locking and then again unlocking. The alarm-LED was strange, after locking stay ON insteed of flashing.
    The mean problem was just the cheap connectors of this car :( IBIZA's connectors have really very bad quality. Even with the window-motor was the same issue, the motor wasn't working just becuase of the connectors :(.
    Just clean and tight up all pins of the connectors. Do that at all connectors. Open door-lock and make sure the lock is clean and actuator-motors connectors are tight too (these are realy important!) for that you will need to disassemble the lock it self.
    This procedure will 100% guarantee you fixing this issue! ;)
    Car type IBIZA build year 2009.

    I know this is posted years ago, but damn, I have exactly the same problem!
    only one door did not lock, the passenger backside door (I have a 4 door Ibiza 2003, SDi)
    First the company said, turn the key twice into lock position to lock all doors, and twice in opening position to unlock all doors, clearly a bunch of BS, as I called SEAT myself, and been told this is bullshit... so back to the company again, telling them they make shit up and that they need to fix this problem or give my money back.
    My car is more than 5 weeks in the garage, and the garage only says it's a difficult problem, and that they are changing the lock system (I had to call multiple times for updates, as I bought the car from them, while being told the car is in good condition, witch it really was not, starting problems due a very small battery (55A 460Ah) so they changed that into a bigger one... so hopefully that problem is fixed..
    I do live in Spain, Oviedo, and my car is at a shop in a nearby town called Aviles. (car shop is called Pitstop)
    Also a fair warning for people who might live in Oviedo or Gijon, and thinking about buying a car in Aviles, don't buy at PitStop, they are slow, and call you that the car is ready, only to find out they did not even touched the car... as the same problem was clearly still there.
    this time around, after 5 weeks, I am assuming they fixed it! but I get the car back on Monday, tomorrow..
    so hopefully its fixed so I can drive to another part of Spain with it, as I am moving to The Mediterranean, without the fear of being unlocked at one door with my pets in the car and valuable stuff....

    I I take the key car doesn't lock automatically. If I have key in and running engine, car lock itself. I had to brake the window, because engine was working and car was locked. It's interesting also, why when car locked I can not open door from inside.

    Same issue Volvo V70 can't lock doors internally with central locking, can by depressing the buttons. Locks fine from the outside via key.

    Mine does the same bloody thing but with the rear right door. The key doesn't work so I'm locking the doors from the inside button and then manually lock the driver's door from the outside but it seems like the right rear door never locks whatsoever.

    Just got a 2007 ibiza 3 door, the lock fault on that is it double fires as in the video but will intermittently lock.... However the boot ever does, I'm wondering if it's a solenoid issue, any advice appreciated 👍🏼

    Sounds like a sticking locking servo. Give it a squirt with some oil and then 'work it' a few times.
    Your interior light has nothing to do with the locks. It is operated by the little plunger on the door frame that moves out when the door opens and closes a circuit.

    • @CyunK92
      @CyunK92 9 лет назад

      Koito rob Of course the interior light has something to do with it. When you take out the key out of the starter lock the lights should turn on. Otherwise there is something wrong

    • @koitorob
      @koitorob 9 лет назад +1

      Cyunk Chelios His ignition key was still in the ignition barrel!Therefore, the interior light would not have ANY effect on the door unlocking itself when locked. Would it!I have experienced this on a couple of cars and it is common on 1980s/90s BMWs. The central locking servo gets stiff, usually a case of the grease inside gets old and hardens. This leads to the mechanism not moving fully through it's range so doesn't fully lock or unlock which then stops the rest of the locks locking or unlocking.

      Koito rob not true about the keys in the ignition....that button is so you can lock the doors while the car is being driven...so when you are waiting at a stop light no one can open your door and comit a crime.....my daughter has the newer model and the doors lock automaticaly after a few seconds.....by the way, I have this same problem but not with the driver door my problem is with the back door on the drivers side......

    I have the same problem :(
    ... but the two rear doors don't have a central lock. (collapsed at the same time) The remote control and the interior lock only lock the front doors and the boot.
    Antecedent:
    A guy was trying to set the computer to close the mirrors with the remote control. After about 1 week, we noticed that the two rear doors were not locked.
    Could you have accidentally stopped something? For example, did you switch on your computer to have a 3 door car?
    .... or the comfort module is broken?
    Can someone help me?

    Seat Ibiza is the worst car ever except for any make of French car.On opening the door from the inside, the latch snapped in my hand. To my amazement I found it was made of cheap rigid plastic instead of metal.Many problems with the Seat Ibiza, the Value Engineering department have really gone to town with this model resulting in a cheap piece of shit.I will now stay with the Opel (Vauxhall), or any Japanese car.
