In one of its most dramatic actions since its creation, July 17, 2024 the Hyderabad Disaster Response and Assets Monitoring and Protection agency (HYDRAA) has moved in to raze the N-Convention centre in Madhapur on Saturday morning (August 24, 2024). Its ancillary structures were also razed by the officials who threw in security dragnet while carrying on the work.
N Convention is managed by N3 Enterprises and is jointly owned by actor/producer Nagarjuna Akkineni and Nalla Preetham. The area has been cordoned off and earthmovers are at work on the N Convention. Much of the structure was razed by 11 a.m. The convention centre is allegedly built within the Full Tank Level of the Tummidikunta lake. The blockage of water flow from the lake had led to frequent flooding in the 100-feet road, Ayyappa Colony and other areas in the catchment area of the lake.

While rich celebrities or politicians may face less impact, it is crucial to consider the ordinary people who have purchased flats or houses with loans as a top priority. Cash-paying ordinary individuals should also be shown some mercy.
Those who have taken out loans should receive 100% compensation from the government, as the banks and HMDA (Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority) or approval bodies are at fault. Additionally, residents should be granted at least a one-week grace period to relocate to a new house, as it is extremely painful and distressing to evacuate during nighttime.
Moreover, how can ordinary people be expected to know about buffer zones? Where are the signboards, and why isn't there regular monitoring of water bodies? I have observed that many houses are located within 10 meters of water bodies in various areas. What about them?

1) Is the main idea to increase the flood tolerance capacity of the city(if yes, how much water capacity are we planning to add/hold)

Is it for enforcing law and order and punishing the wrong doers and instilling accountability?

What are the next steps after the demolition? What are the steps planned to integrate the reclaimed land into the existing watershed?
3) The law should be the same for everyone in such cases. But, there could be various classes of people who might be impacted. Is there a plan to work with the existing occupants where they pay a certain fine and can continue to stay in their home.

Sir, I work for Central water commission. Major issue will be legal issue. So pl ask them to follow these steps and make a policy.
Step1: Make one Chervus Data base and Nalas Data base from NRSA data and first fix number of waterbodies with Unique ID.
Step2: Fix up boundaries FTL, Buffer Zone for Chervus and Nalas
Step3: Enumerate all the Encroachments with coordination of Irrigation, Revenue & Registration departments.
Step4. File a common suit in the Hon'ble Court submitting all the Encroachments.
Step5: Court judgement will be Yes as per Supreme court previous judgement to remove encroachment without any notice.
Step6. Notify all the Encroachments in the Public Media nd newspapers and communicate through all Local bodies.
Step7: Give the Encroachers 2 months time to remove on their own and make alternate arrangements for their losing properties.
Step8: Then, HYDRA should go for demolitions if the Encroachers doesn't abide with court orders.
Step9: Notify all the Tanks and Nalas in all Local Bodies and Government departments to not to do registrations to stop further constructions

I find some genuinety in commissioner ranganath sir and CM sir so I'm asking this questions.
We appreciate Hydra's efforts to address the illegal occupation of lakes and ponds. However, simply demolishing or partially demolishing structures accounts for only 10% of the work needed to restore these water bodies. True restoration requires a comprehensive approach, including excavation of dumped soil, replanting, and cleaning aquatic plants which is the major effort and cost driven. The current approach seems more like a political move rather than a genuine attempt to revive these crucial resources. If Hydra is committed to its cause, it should focus on fully restoring each water body to its original state within a set timeframe-ideally six months per site-before moving on to the next, rather than making partial demolitions around multiple lakes in Hyderabad.
Can we please have HYDRA commissioner comment on this?

కొన్ని భూములు చెరువులని ఆక్రమించి కబ్జా చేసి తరువాత మెల్లగా legalize చేస్కొని పట్టాలు తెప్పించుకొని buildings కట్టి అంటారు. ఆ కట్టిన building లో ఏ మధ్యతరగతి వాడో ఒక commom man ఓ loan తీసుకొని కష్టపడి flat కొనుక్కొని ఉంటాడు. ఇప్పుదు హైడ్రా వచ్చి అది illegal కట్టడం అని చెప్పి కూల్చివేస్తే ఆ తప్పు కొనుక్కున్నవాడిదా కట్టినవాడిదా legalize చేసుకునేలగా చేసిన అధికారులదా? ఈ మధ్య తరగతి common man ఎక్కడికి పోవాలి?
చెరువులను ఇండస్ట్రీ వేస్టేజ్ నుంచి కూడా రక్షించాలి. ఇప్పుడు హైదరాబాదులో చెరువులంటే కంపు వస్తూ ముక్కు మూసుకుని వెళ్లాల్సి వస్తుంది. వరల్డ్ క్లాస్ సిటీ హైదరాబాద్ చెరువుల్లో గుర్రపు డెక్క బాగా పెరిగిపోయి దోమల్ని విపరీతంగా పెంచుతున్నాయి. ఈ సమస్య హైడ్రా పరిధి కిందికి రాదా?

Sir my basic question about apartments
It may be either under construction or ready to move normal common people will see the RERA or HMDA approval are there or not then, they'll buy.
Now incase if it is Nala or FTL zone and they same is demolished by HYDRA then the common man will suffer because even it's under construction property also allready as per progres that common man given advance.
If such action the common man will loose advance or in case it's Fully constructed then he will loose completely.
My basic fundamenta questions are
1. The builder not going to face any issues as the construction is completed. Machanism to compensate the loss by builder to the common person is essential.
2. As per RERA approval the construction is constructed so there must be mechanism to demolish only after the buyer get compensation.
3. Stringent action on the approval given agency is needed once it identified as an illigal.
Commendable and long overdue action taken up HYDRA under the leadership of Sri Ranganath. Now the encroachments are removed sooner or later but still the problem of sewerage pollution remains in some lakes/waterbodies. Will the government allows to set up sewerage treatment plants without affecting the FTL or reducing the lakes capacity by construction of STPs by raising. This will definitely rejuvenate the lakes and waterbodies and protect the environment.
This is required as it is very difficult to obtain the lands for STPs.

Im working in Civil and Architecture Industry. My question is
There is a lot of projects under high raise buildings with 30/40/45 floors i have seen and worked in Hyderabad.
Isnt it illegal though they acquire all the permission. People are facing too much water crisis in Hyderabad. Utilisation of water is too much in a limited area of plot size.
Also there is many problems arising with this hight rise buildings. Though there is positive side to it. Underground water levels are highly depreciated and it is being gone unnoticed my official.

1 How the actual area of the river and the buffer jone identified and it's validity by law
2 After demolish how the demolished material is cleared and where is it going to be dumped and who bears the cost of disposal and land where the material is being dumped
3 After the material is cleared will the land recovered again convered to river who bears the cost

Question : This is extension to Q10. Will there be any transparent and licensed system where buyers can verify easily. Like in western countries realtors need to take training and get license to both sell and lease properties. Any direction in that way to build a proper process with strict rules and vigilence.
Next Question : Will all the corrupt officers, politicians, local goons and builders who are involved punished to the core so its a lesson for every one.
