Moments like these, kids.....Take them in. You'll never know who you run into. My parents were sitting in a café somewhere in Mougins, France (I think) sometime in the early 70's just a few years before I was born, and there was an old man sketching away at a pad of paper. My mother started to feel a bit nervous when the old man kept looking at the two of them and then looking away back down to his sketch pad. Just as he left, he handed my parents what he was sketching. It was a portrait of the two of them sitting at the table. He gave a nod of his hat, said goodbye in French and walked away. My Dad looked down at the sketch, and suddenly realized who the man was. Pablo Picasso. And in his hands was a Picasso original. That sketch is now with me, and it has and forever will be a private thing. It was a sketch that was meant to be private, depicting a private moment between two lovebirds in France. What a gift. So, by all means....Cherish moments like the one in this video. You just may be talking to a living artistic legend and never realize it at the time.

I like this scene for a lot of reasons. First the poet seems to be a confident guy in approaching the couple and asking them if he can write a poem for them. But once he finishes the poem and celine asks him to read the poem, you see The poet become incredibly vulnerable, cuz he is being judged for his art in real-time. Isn't that incredible?
    Nice touch RL.

I cried while watching this scene, I kinda sympethised with the poet and I thought about all the poor homeless artists or the wandering souls out there that are lost , ppl who didn't fit into the ordinary, ppl who didn't become wht was expected from them , ppl that r unable to sustain basic living. People that are generally lost in their lives. My eyes teared when I saw how happy, humble and shy the poet was after reading the poem and he looked grateful for the money he got from it. I don't know what it is that made me feel that this poet was so lonely

Take me for a walk, Thursday's pressing my veins,
going through your secrets, through your mind,
all the spots are just the same, quiet and sublime,
your milkshake soul, so hard to find.
And if you ever offer me a peace of that sound,
if you ever try to hide me from that mess,
hold me, keep me, smash me to the ground
    your milkshake soul, my emptiness..:P
I wrote it in two minutes..a little bit of inspiration after watching that scene (paused the scene before the guy read his own)

I remember this scene, cause 12 years ago, I convince a girl to watch this movie with that poem. It was the era of hi5, and we were both teenagers, getting to know each other through movies, songs and literature. We never saw each other face to face, we continue to speak from time to time in the years that come, through universities. At some point she wanted to meet and talk in person, I had some problems and didn’t want to disappoint her. We lost the connection, she got happily married at some point, and I sit here, alone, remembering and thinking what could’ve happened if we had meet.

my teacher for creative writing showed us this video in one class, and it is something that stuck with me over the past 6 years (by now, don't exactly remember when we saw it). sometimes i really do find myself thinking about this poem, but also how important of an act it was to let the poet read it, on the fact that not many people (at least in my understanding) would be able to make a name for themselves without challenges in the way. I'm a visual communication freshman, near the end of the first semester; i knew from a young age i wanted to study this, but poetry will always have a place in my heart, despite forgetting the words or the poet's name - it will always be the feeling, the emotion, driven from it, that would sink its claws and teeth deep in the flesh, and have the wound heal and grow around it to blossom into passion, resulting in creation in another form of art.
that's poetry for me, and the milkshake for the poet.

I have never felt a more pure joy,
When u look at me with that coy smile,
    It soothes me,
Makes me reminiscent of those hot summer afternoons,
Reminds me of the remnant good in me,
Like the blissful milkshake after those afternoons,
Melting away my fatigue, my pain,
U have come in my life the same way, and changed a life that was once mundane.
A life passing with out passion,
Has been saved by ur milkshake like love's ambition.
It makes me wanna become better and rise above my fears,
To deserve ur milkshake like love.
(I know it's poor usage but couldn't help it)

I'm sorry but your review was very distracting. I felt it was more about you dancing and twirling around more than anything else. Also, the mic you are using is terrible. You sound underwater and it keeps fading in and out. But glad you loved the movie.

As poetic as this scene was, and I adored the movie, the poem though was utter narcisstic trash.
