    Great analysis! The comparisons side by side with other gymnasts is so fun to watch. I think she has a really good chance of making the team.

    Great video! I learnt a lot about the techniques and why she receives great execution scores. Interesting that she opts for the harder L grips on bars, even for the Jaeger

      Its interesting. Some athletes find El grip skills very natural and easy and others find it very challenging. Many skills are this way I believe as we all find out strengths and weaknesses but trying. I am tight in El grip so it is very impressive they do el grip skills so easily. Glad you liked the video and thanks.

    Very nice analysis! I love how you give criticism and positives. I think she will be 3rd or 4th AA and hope she has a great Olympic Trials.
    About the beam split + back tuck series, I think she just wants to play it safe since she did it at winter cup at the start of the year greatly, was off a bit at classics and then just probably didn't want to do it for nationals considering what happened at last worlds.

      That makes sense and thank you for the insight. I try to analyze athletes as I would analyze myself or have somebody analyze me. Anand all my best.

    -00:37 This mount is named after Romanian Daniela Silivas. Dominique Moceanu of the USA also used the same mount (albeit from a run) from about 95-97.
    -06:59 yet, it is precisely her leaps ("artistic" qualities) that render her subpar in my books. For example, for this specific leap (a split leap with leg change to ring) the 22-24 COP says the following must be present for the skill to be recognized: 1) Upper back arch & head release 2) 180° split of legs 3) Front leg at horizontal, back leg bent (135°), and 4) back foot to the crown of head. In fact, it explicitly states for the D-panel to downgrade the skill to a split/switch leap/split jump, if: 1) there is no arch *AND* release of head and/or 2) Back foot is below crown of head.

      Oh, I am just reading your full message. Thank you. With so many protocols or requirements for a skill that happens very fast its assumable that errors are made in evaluations as some walk the edge of satisfying the requirements. All we can do is the best we can do. I also imagine sometimes its a no brainer when they do or dont reach those requirements hahaha. Thanks for your insights and knowledge.

      @@OLYMPIANTEACHES-bh6gp It's not named after Silivas anymore because the Neck stand 1/2 beam mount as it's called is a B skill and B skills don't get named after gymnasts.

    she’s just too inconsistent. i’d leave her off the team especially with other athletes have proven themselves to be more consistent and her scores aren’t needed to win gold

    • @sarahdore7884
      @sarahdore7884 3 дня назад

      Do you remember the last Olympics? One can never predict what we will need to win gold. She’s been more consistent lately and it might be nice to have another strong all arounder…. You never know when that might be needed

    • @aliciamcdonald7105
      @aliciamcdonald7105 3 дня назад +2

      @@sarahdore7884 Yep. People don't seem to understand that what you want to have is a team that is SOLID all the way around and which could secure GOLD irrespective of what may happen to A or B. Skye is not known for her consistency is true but she was solid at Nationals and I got to say her Cheng along with what else she offers makes her a lock for me. The US ideally would want to get off on their best' 'foot' (vault) because this is where they start and this is where things went downhill in Tokyo. A great start off vault with THREE Chengs will set the tone for the rest of the meet and should give the US a MASSIVE team victory.

    • @sarahdore7884
      @sarahdore7884 3 дня назад +1

      @@aliciamcdonald7105 Exactly. Her Cheng is a game changer. Now they can bring her instead of a vault/ floor specialist. Gives them more options

    • @aliciamcdonald7105
      @aliciamcdonald7105 3 дня назад

      @@sarahdore7884 I personally want THREE CHENGS on the team. As I have said so many time on here, if Jade is not included on the team then the person who takes that spot SHOULD be able to deliver a Cheng and a 6.3+ floor because that is what she can bring to the team. The US should not just want to win, they should want to win BIG. Having THREE CHENGS to start with two 6.3+ floor to end would ensure that.
