i genuinely think this is one of the most defining moments of this game, and what really grounded zelda as her own unique character, her panic and utter fear of malladus using her body and how she imposed the challenge onto link believing "she can't do anything" god this game is so good
@@gamerprince-tl5hg to be fair she really didn't have a chance to be considering shes locked up in the castle for the most of the game before leaving her alone leads to her late game kidnapping. but she did go to prove vital helping link kill Ganondorf.

Pharoah Man As for Tetra, you're right. Though I did say "collected to stoic" not "all stoic" and she did often deride Link for acting irrationally... And she did cool down a bit when she's Zelda...
The overall game might just be ok, but this incarnation of Zelda is my favorite by far. Zelda has never shown as much personality as she did in this game.
I like how Zelda taking so long to get the hint that she needs to help Link first comes off like she’s just an entitled brat, before it quickly becomes clear with how confused as to how she could possibly help that she’s got low self-esteem.
This is my first time playing Spirit Tracks. And the grunts Zelda makes as she’s telling Link how he needs to help her was the main highlight of this cutscene for me. And this version of Zelda is honestly the most adorable version of her so far.
I loved Zelda in the past, but I had to admit that in some games she was more of a role model (well, aside from being held hostage and in danger all the time). Tetra had her badass moments, but even she was a damsel in distress. THIS Zelda is an upgrade. I cannot watch this clip without cracking up.
When exactly did Tetra have her badass moment? I don't remember such thing, except simply ordering her goons around (we still don't know how/why they followed her). And we're not even sure why Tetra helped out Link specifically in the first place.
This is honestly an underrated game the only parts that made it difficult were the flute songs when the player had to blow into the mic there should’ve been a button option for it to make it easier for the player not to burn there lungs out.
This Zelda was the best one imo. She actively helps Link despite at first feeling useless as a ghost and at the end she belive nothing can stop the both of them :D
I played this when I was 9 and always skipped the dialogue to get to the playable parts - watching this 11 years later, I gasped at Zelda mentioning her pirate ancestor. That is so cute.
"I will wait for you here. That's what we princesses have always done. From what I understand, it's kind of a family tradition." Fourth wall? What's that? This Zelda is adorable. -^w^-
And this is why Spirit Tracks Zelda and Skyward Sword Zelda are my two favorite Zeldas, they're full of emotion (I never played Wind Waker so I don't know about Tetra).
I fucking loved the part of this scene were Zelda is just sort of inching closer and closer to link in a fury, i also just kinda feel bad for link in that situation! >XD
3:56 Starting here, you can tell that Link is worried for his life. Zelda: I will wait here. That's we princesses ALWAYS do! ...can't tell if that is an excuse or her thinking that is her duty.
@SuperIceCreamify Actually, the series director said that ST takes place about a century after PH. As far as in-game proof goes: Niko is an old man who mentions that ST!Link reminds him of an old friend, there is a stained glass window of Tetra in Hyrule Castle (plus ST!Zelda prays to her near the end), and you meet Linebeck III (and get to visit the grave of the original).
Love this scene. We never really had a lot of Zelda moments in the past, but this scene really gave her a ton of personality. And when she says she would wait for Link rather than help out, stating it’s sort of a family tradition made me laugh so hard. All games before always had Zelda waiting for Link, rather than helping out and making the job easier. Love that this game broke that mould and made Zelda a companion.
Zelda: What about Algonzo, wait how about Princess Cally? Wait she's in a different planet...... I KNOW!!! *gets cell phone* Hello? Meta Knight? Yes, can you guide Link upstairs? Ok. Thanks! *hangs up* ok Link, your coverd Link: Gods not Meta Knight he scares the Din out if me!
Gotta love when Nintendo occasionally decides to make Zelda a bit "nuts", here with her "pep" talk to Link or with Zelda in Skyward Sword PUSHING LINK DOWN SKYLOFT.
Spirit Tracks is such an underrated gem. A lot of people were put off by the "train" aspect but I personally thought it was pretty awesome. Especially the twist at the end. This is also one of the only games you literally get to adventure WITH Zelda. The soundtrack is FIRE by the way. Probably some of the best music the Zelda series has seen. It's also a direct sequel to Wind Waker.
@Fatal18Assassin No. he may look exactly like the Link from Phantom Hourglass but as far as I know Spirit Tracks take place almost 100 years after the previous game. Notice that Niko also features in this game but he's now an old man who tells histories about his adventures with the rest of Tetra's crew. As Anjean said in this cutscene, Tetra is the ancestor of Zelda in Spirit tracks.
Making Zelda your companion was a brilliant move. Shame it wasn't done in more games. Hell, even having her present throughout the game like Marin with Link's awakening would be great.
I like that Zelda can actually help you... but at the same time you have to save her real body which is really interesting :D my favorite parts of this game is when zelda can help me in the phantom's body :D
I'll say. Can you imagine how you'd feel if your body was possessed by a Demon King? Who knows what kind of... things he'll do to it? And against your will no less! So yeah, Zelda's freak out it pretty justified. Especially considering that she's a young girl...
