How do you actually send good vibes? I have a co-worker that talks about sending good vibes to people...and I've always wondered, "What is the process by which this is accomplished?" 😆
I’m actually doing this backwards ! My wife and I have walked the Huger Street side walkway by the canal . We reached a point where we noticed people walking on the other side !? That got our curiosity and we figured it had to be accessed near the Zoo. It had been 55+ years since I skipped over the rocks at the rapids ! Wow !…. What a wonderful trail the City of Columbia made ! So , I thought I would RUclips it when we got back and here I am ! Wonderful job you did and both my Wife and & subscribed . We. Will share and hope your channel grows ! ❤
We went last year, to see the SC Capitol for the first time. I think it was April. We walked down to a park along the river by the bridge going into downtown. The river was at floodstage, with massive logs and trees floating downstream. This year we checked out Greenville, which I liked even more. -NB (FL)
Another great job Scott. We get into the late fall, I’m gonna have to start replaying your videos to find out where we can build our E bike routes up for our fall road trips. With this heat, we tend to head further north
You head north because you're smart. 😆 I went to Columbia 2 August weekends in a row. Car said 108 degrees outside (I think that was wrong, but it was definitely HOT). So hot I didn't even bother to get anything to eat. Anyway... Columbia has this thing they call the Three Rivers Greenway. It consists of (from north to south) the Saluda Riverwalk, the Columbia Canal Trail (which also has the Broad River Trail attached), the West Columbia Riverwalk, which flows directly into the Cayce Riverwalk, which leads directly into the Congaree Creek Heritage Preserve (which is really big on American Revolution and Civil War history). I'll be putting out videos on all of these. But yeah, you guys could enjoy a weekend in Columbia this fall, that's for sure.
Hey Scott - you are a riot!! Triggered by how Columbia got its name - that is a hoot! I love biking and just subscribed to your channel - and I’m one of your 20% female subscribers. Yes, we’re out there! This video was fantastic - the end, with just the natural sounds, calmed my Yankee nerves.
Just found your videos, and I'm your newest fan... It was actually the video about Gastonia, NC and it's terrible trails that drew me in (I live in Gaston County next door to Gastonia). You crack me up, and you are providing me valuable information about trails in my area. So thanks. Edit: I'm a lady subscriber... We do exist.
We biked the Saluda Riverwalk today on a trip to Columbia. Made it out to the Sanctuary at Boyd Island as well. What a spectacular place. We topped it off by dining at a Lizard's Thicket close to our hotel. Thanks for the recommendations! What a wonderful day.
The lady is here! 🤭 We love your videos and humor! ❤ I'm in the process of moving back to Columbia SC, my home town from Europe, after 19 years. My children last visited in 2015 at ages 5 and 8, so they do not remember much. This helps a lot! 🤗 They really enjoy your videos just as much as I do! Keep up the great work! ❤ P.S You're so handsome, too! 🤓😇❤
Oops! Don’t know what happened to the rest of my comment. Love your video. I didn’t know the trail existed. Will definitely check it out next time I’m in the area.
Another well done video. The only trail my wife and I have been riding is the SRT. This looks really nice but maybe it’s the camera but looks narrow. How many miles of riding is it? We live between Clemson and Seneca and it’s a haul down to Columbia. If you had to pick a ride you have done that is as good as the SRT what if any would be one. Thanks Mike
There were some parts of the Saluda Riverwalk that felt a little narrow - especially the concrete sidewalk-like trail through the woods. I was able to maneuver the boardwalk fine, even when there were people on it. I really like the Shortline Trail in Tallulah Falls, GA, and it's close to you guys. Only problem is...it's kind of short. There's a 17-mile trail in Forest City, NC called the Thermal Belt Rail Trail, and it reminds me some of the SRT. It's nice, passes through small towns and has a lot of variety. I have done Joyful Trails episodes on both of those. You may also want to try the French Broad River Greenway in Asheville.
Hi Scott! Love your videos!!! My husband and I are riding them together. We are planning on riding the Saluda Riverwalk as soon as the temp goes down. Question…. How far is the ride round trip??? Thanks and Pleeeze keep on filming. Merci’ 🚴♂️🚵♀️🚴♂️🚵♀️🚴♂️
I don't have a cycling computer on my bike, so I don't keep track of distance on my rides...but AllTrails says it's a little over 7 miles out-and-back. I hope you have a great time! I loved it.
Scott! We, my husband and I, have just discovered your channel! We are now subscribers! Love your passion for bike trails, your music, and your sense of humor!! We love bike trails, too! Do you have bike rides and invite others to ride along? We’d love to ride with you!
Thanks so much! To be honest...usually, I do ride alone because I stop SO often to shoot all the video and take photos. It would drive other people crazy! Maybe one day I'll have time to ride just for pleasure again...but right now I'm really focused on building the channel. Thanks again for the kind words.
Thanks! Yes, it’s wide enough for 2-way traffic. I came into contact with groups of young people that were there for tubing and rafting… And we were able to get past each other and navigate just fine.
Or...I could just be like about 40-50% of the young ladies tubing on the Saluda and wear a bathing suit with my entire bottom exposed. How do they get away with that?! Back in my day that was considered indecent exposure... 😯 These kids today...
Do you know where we could get information on the condition of these trails? We had planned staying near a Columbia Trail and riding with friends this weekend. I can’t find anywhere where I can find their condition, flooded, or whatever. Any information you would have or source would be appreciated. Thank you.
I use AllTrails. You can download the AllTrails app for your phone or just go to their website. There’s a free version and a version that costs I believe something like $35 a year…something like that. But if you scroll down and read the comments that people leave, usually they will warn you of any problems or closures. there are some nice trails in the Columbia area… Saluda, Riverwalk, Columbia Canal Path, Cayce Riverwalk & West Columbia Riverwalk…I think those are all underrated. Hope you have a good time. 🙂
Breathtaking views ... thanks for taking us along :)
Thanks for watching!
Thanks for sharing. Loved the ending, sounds of the river.
Excellent filming. Lovely trail. Great ending, thanks for sharing.
Thanks!
I go here often. My peace of mind. ❤
yes there are "Good Vibes" I'll take all I can get. thanks for another nice ride.

What a GREAT video! Informative, picturesque and hilarious! I’ll plan to do this route tomorrow (as I’m a local)!
Thanks! You’re blessed to have some great trails nearby. Thanks for watching.

It really is beautiful and calming. I need to get back there!

I know, right? I was really pleasantly surprised by that trail.

Yes, it is! They really should publicize it better.
Really great filming, loved the video.

That wooden boardwalk must have cost a pretty penny to build. Plus it needs to be maintained as well, otherwise the wood will go rotten.
It is some pretty impressive carpentry. I would hate to have to re-stain it...or re-seal it...or whatever. (Can you tell I'm not a woodworker?)...
I am Woman! And I am a follower 😀 I love bike riding 🚴🚴🚴🚴🚴
Alright! 😂 welcome aboard!
What a Nice Riverwalk.. I could go Up & Down the River for Hours.. Good for the Soul.. Not Far From Charlotte, NC
Yes! Plus the Cayce Riverwalk and West Columbia Riverwalk are excellent as well. All right there in the Columbia area.

Great video---how wide is the wooden riverwalk bridges over or near water? can it handle both way traffic is the underlying question...
Thanks! Yes, it’s wide enough for 2-way traffic. I came into contact with groups of young people that were there for tubing and rafting… And we were able to get past each other and navigate just fine.

Nice...but too short and narrow for a bike ride.
What is the length of this????
