He says it reminds him of pus, but the real reason is that when he was a child he got his head stuck through a metal railing and his grandma (or maybe it was his mom) put mayo on his head to try to get it out and it was a hot day 🤢 he told the story years ago

I never knew that Jimmy's childhood trauma from "creamy stuff" was that strong. He told that story years ago that he got stuck his head in a fence when he was a kid, he was stuck for like 8 hours in 100 degrees and his grandma put a mayo on his head to get him out.

As I was watching Jimmy, it instantly reminded me of my daughter who has sensory processing disorder. There are certain textures that she will not try. She often has the same reactions. "I don't like it" is a phrase she often says too.

I definitely thought sensory processing disorder or maybe ARFID, but ARFID is usually way more restrictive.

I didn't know Jimmy had a food phobia of creamy looking foods.
Wow. It literally hurts to imagine going through life without "creamy stuff". No mayo, mustard, ketchup, tomato or BBQ sauce, alfredo sauce, pesto, peanut sauce, curry, ranch, guac, cheesy, and peanut butter, icing, butterscotch, fudge, caramel, chocolate, various fruit jellys and jams, and and many more. If this aversion was really created due to a childhood trauma as was suggested, it's the kind of thing I'd want to work through and remedy.
Could also be a neurodivergent trait. No trauma needed. Just a natural aversion to certain textures.

If someone has a phobia or some similar reaction to a food, it's not a good idea to push them to eat it. It's traumatic for them. Jimmy was a real sport here for even trying the crab cake and cinnamon roll.
It’s not traumatic. He should still try it. Not gonna kill you to eat new food. Rhett and link “traumatize” themselves by trying new food every episode.

Jesus Christ, I would love to see him sit down with some real survivors of trauma. I would hope he'd have the tact to realize that isn't traumatic and he should probably grow up.
