Was wondering what happened with that, perhaps the video got corrupted and he didn't get around to film it again especially since the OnePlus popularity wave faded
You're right, Chris! It's pretty hard to separate the camera from its housing without warping the lens or the plastics, they use some pretty strong glue to keep all that together. Next time we'll use some Kapton tape.
If I have a heat mat, as opposed to a heat gun how long do I leave the rear of the phone on there before starting to use the pry tool? What temp setting and how long? Also, can you just replace the camera module itself if the main camera lens is broken?
is this a US variant? I am eager to know if the sim slot able to have two dual sim capability? If not do you think if replace that component in the future can make a single sim to a dual sim phone?
Liking it so far? I waited 3 years with the same phone before I got the 9 Pro. I love it so far. I just wish they had kept dual SIM cards like the rest of the world has. This weekend I need to take it out with the fam and dog and shot some photos.
I am watching this video to see if i can do it myself but i wouldnt dare tho. Since today i hear and feel that something is loose inside the phone around the camera part when i slightly shake it. It justs irritates me. I really dont want to send the phone back to oneplus and miss my phone a couple of weeks.
It should be normal. That are the cameras because of OIS. Dont worry to much. Go to walmarkt and shake some expensive phones. All of them have that. Cheaper phones under 300$ dont have that that often
It's an OLED technology that allows for a dynamic refresh rate as low as 1hz all the way to the rated 120hz, meaning the phone can stress the gpu and display less when you aren't doing anything and save some battery. Probably why they didn't make a bigger battery between 9 and 9 pro since 9 pro has more battery saving features
you buy a phone because of repairability? the best ive heard is people who buy phones because of reselling value, like generally iphones would sell more even after alonger time, than androids. i buy a phone because thats what i like. thats about it.
@@truthseeker6804 Hmmm. Good point. Besides, if the OnePlus 9 Pro comes with a case, or if OnePlus do sell special cases for the OnePlus 9 Pro, then I won't have to worry of accidentally dropping the phone or scratching the back glass. I'm not prone to being clumsy, but I'm always a bit paranoid on keeping any things in good condition.
@@Isaac-gh5ku true. if they come with durable case or third party cases would be good. to be clear im not buying it, i was just replying to your comment. i use a plastic back phone 😁, so i dont use a case. lol. i only use screen protector.

@Brysen Nico definitely, I've been using Flixzone} for since december myself :)
Looks like you guys heat gunned directly over the camera a bit too long, resulting in melting the lens elements on that main camera as seen at 2:47

@@iFixitYourself nah, I like it crispy :)
@@iFixitYourself yeah camera should have pull tabs... According to your repairbility score
the phone that scores 10/10 repairability score would have pull tabs for the display and back panel

Brilliant teardown!
when do u get replacement parts? looking especially for a replacement backcover in green. mine sadly broke
Is this the US version? Are the contacts there for a dual sim?

I really want to know that too. That feature was the main reason I bought the phone.
Where can I find edl test point in motherboard
It is possible to swap the 9 pro's camera component to the normal 9 to get OIS feature?
Is it possible buy a replacement battery?
What's that black hole above flash is for ?
If you’re an American brand smartphone you’ll always end up having high score in iFixit 🤣
What about Samsung phones. The newer ones are hard to repair

To score 10/10 how a smartphone must be build than?

Why are you’re parts so expensive
Cause there so new that it’s expensive
But why is a iPhone 6s screen 75 bucks when I can go on eBay and get a refurb for 30

It will. You can charge the two battery halves in parallel and theroretically half the normal charging time
