I was there on the last night of the festival and it was magnificent. I'd never experienced anything like it.

Having seen several of St Olaf's Christmas Festivals, this seems to be the buildup to the closing selection, which is always, Fairest Lord Jesus, arguably the most moving and emotional moment. Hope they post that as well.

"Fairest Lord Jesus"? Nah, ChristmasFest always ends with Beautiful Saviour arranged by F. Melius Christiansen. Every single time.

Depending on hymnal taken from it can be either Fairest Lord Jesus (ELCA) or Beautiful Savior (LCMS). The exact words at one point of their mass choir arrangement are "Beautiful Savior, Lord of the nations". Perhaps that's what you are thinking of.

To quote the program notes from this years St. Olaf Christmas Fest, "Performing 'Beautiful Savior' is a decades-long tradition for the St. Olaf choral
ensembles. The melody is a Silesian folk song arranged by F. Melius Christiansen in 1910... 'Beautiful Savior' has come to be regarded as 'practically synonymous' with the St. Olaf choirs"
Feel free to look back on the archives, but I'm confident in saying that there is not a single time that the concert has ever ended with Fairest Lord Jesus. You must be mistaken.

Where are the children? This truly excellent festival appeared to have been attended only by grandparents!

Many of these are the parents and grandparents of the college students who are there singing, hence the demographic being older....

I get that. I'm just surprised there's not a single child or teenager to be seen anywhere in the audience. Kinda sad.@@jenmorricone4014
