Nice video, Kate. FYI, the "debounce time" pertains to the lap timer. With lap timer enabled, pulling in on the "flash to pass" handlebar switch resets the lap timer for the next lap. The debounce time is the interval that must expire before the lap timer can be reset again. In your example, 1 minute and 30 seconds. With this setting, the flash to pass switch will not start a new lap time for at least 90 seconds. The purpose is to prevent an accidental switch press mid-lap from prematurely resetting the lap timer. You should set this to 5-15 seconds less than your expected lap time. So if your quickest (expected) lap is 1:55, a debounce time of 1:40-1:50 will be about right. Sorry for the long post. Hope I'm making sense!
Nicely done Kate. I’ve had this bike for a while and the range of options in the dash is phenomenal. Clearly their years of making cars has helped their development.
Best video I’ve seen on this subject. Incredibly helpful as I prepare for delivery of my M1K. Can’t thank you enough for taking the time make this in such detail.

The TFT is one of the best out there but don't forget peeps it's also on bikes like the more affordable the F900 also! And as a variation on the "How fast does it go Mister" quip, I rather like the decelerometer which shows arguably the more important almost 1G (9.8 m/s squared) I get on strong braking!
Kevin, you got all sciencey... and I like it! Nice to hear from someone who really appreciates the braking display 👌 also YES you're 100% right, alot of the range featuring this 6.5 inch TFT dash, and it wouldn't surprise me if the whole range goes that way. Thanks again for your comment 😊

Fantastic Kate, I've just bought a S1000XR TE , had it delivered so minimal instruction on TFT settings. My options are as you will know virtually identical to the S1000RR. Helped me out no end having just traded my 2020 Triumph Stripple RS which was just too harsh on my old joints. I improved it massively on the front end by adding some preload ,but the rear end was just harsh on B roads, shame I miss the howling engine tone. the S1000 is a dream in comparison in respect to comfort, performance is right up there which, is importanrtto me. Keep up the great work, you are certainly improving with every post, just need 40K more subscribers to be in with the big boys. Would love a review of the new S1000XR please, I am loving mine,

One thing that’s great about the BMW TFT (I have basically the same TFT on my RS) is the basic view is so good you get all that info straight away right out of the box with no faff. And if you go into any of the menus etc you still will see all of that info (except revs) in the top line. I find myself using the main screen 99% of the time, but whenever I think “I wonder whether the tyres are at pressure/battery is charged/engine is overheating/what my fuel economy is etc” all that info is available to me. Also all these obscure settings (eg turning the ABS or DTC off, making daytime running lights be auto or manual etc) are easy to get to if you ever want to mess with them.
When I looked at the video I was thinking about Jeremy Clarkson in the BMW M5 we're he couldn't make a decision because of all the options 😂 Nice video Kate, keep up the good work and hope to see you drive this beast soon.
@Username Kate the Shoei x14 is the most comfortable helmet I've ever wore and you know how much easier it is on your neck at high speeds, they really did a good job making it cut through the air without snapping your neck off. @@UsernameKate And if I were in England, I'd pop in and ask you to explain every detail for me :-) This is a funny time for BMW.
