    excellent video guys!! Highly appreciate all the useful info. Most campground reviews are very basic, I feel like I’m getting info from a friend rather than a RUclipsr! Will be subscribing !

    Ive stayed at Bug Meadows and Loft Mountain campgrounds. Big meadows is nice because its so central but i did like the privacy Loft offered. Thank you for the resouce of viewing the campsites. Would have been iseful this last tume at loft. We were in G193 next to 2 huge water tanks. Not what we hoped for but made the most of it.

      I also try to pick a site away from the bathrooms. Last time I was in Big Meadows in a tent the only site was right by one. I kept hearing footsteps all night! Still, I was camping not working, so I guess I couldn't complain too much. :)

    Skyline drive is beautiful. I haven't been there since 2004.

    Hey, just found you guys and thank you so much for the video. Very informative . We will be coming through Swift Run Gap to stay at Big Meadows. We will need to fill up our 40 gallon water tank for the week and I know it’s at Byrd visitor center from what I’ve read. Is this correct? If so, do you remember which side of the visitor center it is on? We will probably pull in there before we head to our booked campground. I’m having a hard time finding it on a map or satellite image.

      Sorry I just saw this. Hope I'm not too late. From what I recall, the potable water fill is by the dump station. You'll turn off Skyline Dive at Byrd Visitors center, then go straight about 1/2 to 1 Mi. to the first right and proceed straight approx 1/4 mi to the utility area on the left.

    Thank you for this very informative and helpful video! Do the camp stores sell bags of ice coolers?

    Is it necessary to have a back country permit if we are staying overnight at a campground?

    • @ChickerysTravels
      @ChickerysTravels  Год назад

      You don’t need a permit for any other the main park campgrounds as you’ll register at the campground. If you are backpacking and staying at a backcountry campsite, then you’ll need the permit.

      Shenandoah River State Park ruclips.net/video/CZ1QAUFqjw8/видео.html and Spacious Skies in Luray ruclips.net/video/e3HDQBBMvRM/видео.html are both good options. The state park has water and electric and Spacious Skies is full hookups. I've included the links for my video reviews.

      The George Washington National Forest has established campgrounds as well as boondocking areas.
