As a non-American, I find your choices to be quite interesting. The first states I learned when I was a kid were the iconic states like California, Hawaii, Alaska, Texas, Minnesota, Florida, New York, Massachusetts etc. Certainly not Kentucky, the Dakotas, Oregon, Arkansas, Wisconsin. Nowadays, I know all 50 states by heart since I'm a Geography nerd but it's still very interesting to see other people who don't know many US states try to name all of the states.
