What did you do on the World 1 Castle to complete it that quickly.

He used a glitch item called the "Orb" which completes a stage instantly.
Just for the record there is another glitch item (Cloud) that can cancel Bowser's animations and make that battle WAY shorter.
The way you get those is by killing an enemy with Yoshi's flame, eating the coin and quickly collecting the coin on Yoshi's tongue. Which item you get is based on what enemy you killed (I think, don't quote me on that).

Just thought I'd chime in on that part you weren't sure about. It's not determined by what you kill, but by the next sprite that get's loaded. For the cloud glitch, you acquire the Chuck that's on top of the ledge area, but you eat a coin that came from a koopa shell. Not exactly sure what sprite creates teh orb. i think it's also a chuck, but I don't know. It also has to do with which level you do it in, and where you are in the level. So is you did that cloud glitch one spot over, it wouldn't give you the cloud. You have to do it in that specific spot.

In Yoshi island 1.You need to be fire Mario and have Yoshi. Now play the level as usual until you reach the end, now scroll the screen to right so the chuck loads now press X & A simultaneously to make mario kill the dinosaur and Yoshi eat the coin as well as Mario collecting it.You can crash your game if you do it wrong.
The orb completes a level.it is like a substitute to a exit.
He used it in castle one because it's the longest to skip it.

you can download an emulator like bizhawk zsnes or snes9x but for speed running the community prefer you use the actual console but there are certain emulators they allow but if your playing casually you should be fine

What does 11 exit orb mean?

The fastest way to normally beat Super Mario World involves beating 11 levels (or more specifically taking 11 exits since some levels have multiple exits). When you start the game up there is a number next to each save file - this is the number of exits taken on that save file. Additionally, there are some glitches you can utilize to speed things up. Both involve getting an unintended item into your inventory box. The most useful item is Lakitu's Cloud - getting this into your inventory can speed up the Bowser fight by a lot. The second most useful item is the Orb (which is what I've used), this can be used to instantly complete the first Castle. You can also run 11 exit glitchless, which does not collect either of these items and plays the game in a more or less intended way.

So in the Japanese version the level text is english but the level selection world text is Japanese? o.o

Most Japanese players know some English vocabulary, and using English text in some places and Japanese in others could be a way to save on cartridge space as well as slightly simplify localization. Very few games before the N64, PS1, DS class of systems used anything other than basic Hiragana/Katakana and some 1st/2nd grade Kanji because they were easy to represent in as few pixels as possible, were accessible for younger players, and didn't require much space on the cartridge.

remember somewhat in the beginning where he hopped off of yoshi and killed that dragon thing. He glitched the game at that point causing him to obtain the orb (koopa sprites in the top)
