I am a happy and satisfied owner of Jeep Compass 80th Anniversary Edition. I have no problems with this car so far, it fulfills my expectations (no, I don't expect it to drive like a race car, meaning I give a shit about how long it takes to reach the 60mph speed, if I need to accelerate, I just engage the "Sport" regime, and that just do).
Funniest thing I read about the jeep was some idiot motoring journalist taking the compass round an 8 track thrashing it then complained it was the worst he had driven round the track .. an absolute clown 😂
My girlfriend and I are looking at getting the Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland L; I know it’s not a compact SUV but this channel goes in such a deep dive into the vehicles, I’d feel complete with a review from you lol
My first question when I went to buy a jeep, "Why does the 4x4 have a 2.4 and the 2WD have the 3.2?" Ended up buying the 3.2 and im loving the power and speed even with it being 2WD it handles like a champ even in the snow.
We purchased this car new in September 22 and it has been a lemon from the start. Airbags didn't work in bad car accident. We were hit at Approx. 70-80kmh hour whilst stationary at road on Hastings River rd Port Macquarie. My wife and I sustained injuries with chronic whiplash and other muscular and joint damage. Additional issues, one being in the first 2weeks of owning this new Jeep Compass limited the paint was peeling off the front bumper bar, the touch screen was faulty, with maps constantly dropping out, app menu freezing and the car was getting increasingly harder to start. I would not recommend a Jeep to anyone as to book in for a service with local Port Macquarie dealer takes about 6 weeks. We purchased a new Sportage GT Line Turbo diesel instead, a much better car
Funny you posted this as for 2023 Jeep has addressed the issue with the use of the 2.4l and it has been discontinued for 2023 and bas been replaced with the 2.0l Turbo found in the slightly larger Cherokee. That engine in itself has just as much HP and Torque than the much larger 3.6l Pentastar found in the Grand Cherokee !
I noticed the model reviewed in this video does not have rear park sensors. Do you know if the blind spot monitoring system worked? (Yellow triangles in the mirrors). Do you know if these are dependant on having rear ParkSense sensors? Asking because some 2022 Compass are not shipping with park sensors due to supply chain issues… yet claim that they have Blind Spot monitoring…. Thanks!
I just don’t understand the point of the Compass. It’s a handsome vehicle, but a “small SUV” from Jeep exists with the Cherokee, not the Grand. Aren’t the two (Compass and Cherokee), more or less, the same size? :P Great review and cinematography as always, though!
I'd like to have 2 SUVs of the same size so that I can have someone in my family have the same size and car brand with one another but not really having the exact same model. That's just me though hehe.
@@papanga1197 I suppose. 😅 My wife wants a Grand Cherokee, and me a Durango. I guess it’s like that? I dunno. Just don’t understand the point of the two. 🥲
@@destroyedsoul1791 Bruh…. That’s a measly 7 inches (I’m American lol), so to make an entirely separate car all in the name of 20cm (7in) is ridiculous. L Jeep! 😭
@@jma1095 There are a total of 3 different models all on the same chassis the SUSW Renegade,Compass and Cherokee they are all within a few inches of each other, My Wife and I looked at all 3 we found the Renegade fit our needs better, the 2018 Compass interior was a huge turnoff for us but the new updated interior has made it a very nice small SUV now for 2023 the 2.4l has been discontinued and been replaced a smaller but much more powerful 2.0l Turbo which has more HP and Torque than the larger 3.6l Pentastar engine found in the Grand Cherokee.
If they put the new hybrid system Like from the dodge hornet or put a v6 from the grand cherokee then this would be a deal but this just doesn't have the power for a jeep product
Facts I had a 2016 baby cherokee with the 2.4 tigershark oil guzzler for 3 years very underpowered don't drive it no where have a lot of hill it's gonna struggle with that 9 speed jerky transmission the engine can't keep up got rid of 3 months ago and got me a grand cherokee no regrets
I don't know what kind of hills you talking but in india i travelled world highest moterable road without any issue. Its definitely slow 9speed. But i does the job
Its acceleration is no worse than most sub compact CUVs. Almost every review moans about it. That said, it gets a 200 HP 2.0 Turbo for 2023 so maybe that will quiet that common complaint that can't seem to take the vehicle for what it is (or was).
The worst car I ever drove was a 2016 Compass. My 2008 Honda Fit had more guts and better driving dynamics. This one looks nicer but the name Compass brings back awful memories
Having the Jeep compass S as a rental car her in Austria, January 2023, i have to say its the worst rental car i have ever driven, even worse than last years Kia Ceed, and that was terrible, but it was a Rolls Royce compared to this shit Jeep.
Which Compact SUV should we review next!?
your moms suv😂
Nissan rouge
Mitsubishi
none of them
Chevrolet

Only thing is I wish they made the outside lighting full LED
Great review
Thanks!
This looks like a lower variant. The S variant in India has a full LED projector set up, and rear LED lamps as well.

Can you please review 2023 Compass High Altitude since it got the Turbo engine now ?
2023 has a 2.0T turbo now for 200 hp and 221 tq

That’s not a snake. It’s supposed to be Loch Ness Monster. Great video.
Good to know hahaha 🤣
@@ACCELER8TV Yeah, I just wanted to say the same thing: That's not a snake, but a Loch Ness Monster. ;-)

2023 might interest you then as they put the larger 2.0l Turbo which has more HP and Torque than the 3.2 V6
Nice review keep up the good work
Thanks Marcus!
Imagine this car with the 2.0T 4XE
Full LED tail bar would have been awesome.
If I had to buy a Compass I’d get the one with the 2.0t and 8 speed AT.
Two years ago, I thought this looked pretty sleek. With todays market it looks a bit dated though.

omg i love the compass, but i need speed... what other compact suvs would you recommend?
Porsche macan
A 2023 Compass. Jeep replaced the 2.4 with a 200 HP turbo in all trims.
Why the speed limit is 70 🤷♂️
I truly wonder about the reliability of this véhicule, anyone has feedback on that?
You buy it at a dealership and leave it there after.
