Excellent point about how much His Majesty supports craftsmanship in the UK. The rubber is meeting the road. Real people making real products. Not just lip service. Good on him
A perfect choice for the day Ash. Great content and very well put together. An area His Majesty has always done very well is his turnout and style. I shall be raising a glass to toast his (and other chaps) good health later. Well done. I wish HM and everyone else a wonderful day.
Thanks for your usual enlightenment on sartorial choices. I’m writing from Nigeria and I am particularly glad that you have done this bulletin on King Charles, a man of elegant tastes and some subtle spiritual understanding. Your country is so fortunate to have him as king.
Ash, I’ll add how much I, and I’d wager many of your viewer as well, appreciate your self deprecating humor. A chap doesn’t take Mrs self too seriously. Good man.
Very nice video about the best dressed man in the world, Ash! I've always looked up to King Charles as an inspiration and an embodiment of traditional style. Wishing the King a happy and prosperous reign on his coronation day!
Congratulations on Charles' Coronation! I watched from the U.S., and it was a honorable and reverant event. I admired the ecumenicalism induced by Charles, as well as the extraordinary choreography and music.
Wonderfully said, thank you! I've always truly enjoyed and have tried to emulate (in my own small way) the style of King Charles. As you say, he has always dressed well. And looking back, I don't ever remember him wearing anything that, looking back, would be considered 'cringe-worthy'. His clothes have always been timeless classics, yet ones that have always provided his own sense of panache. God Save the King!
I’m reticent to comment too much to one video but you keep making great points! The bit on the pocket square is well said. His Majesty is an excellent exemplar of how to employ the pocket square. You’re spot on. Sartorially speaking His Majesty is an ambassador of sorts for hard working men and women whose efforts should be be well regarded. Excellent video as always. Well said Sir
I do notice that when King Charles wore a double-breasted suit, he did NOT leave any buttons undone. The two buttons are used. I think the current fashion of leaving the lowest button undone is recent, and I think it looks sloppy. Leaving the bottom button undone on a single-breasted suit looks fine, very natural. I had a suit rip once, but instead of patching it which looks terrible, I took a patch of the cloth and had it rewoven. You could not tell where it had been done.
Well done that man, fantasticly informative video with a great sense of passion and professionalism as always. Keep up the great work, your channel is my go-to for content. Dangerous as it is, as I usually end up buying heavily into your recommendations. Shoes and fragrances being my new passion. All a fantastic investment that give a real sense of joy.
I hope that you enjoyed the day Ash. A great day to be British and a member of the Commonwealth. It was a shame that the weather couldn't have been more favorable. My wife and I had planned to visit from Sydney to show our support, however ill health in the family prevented us from doing so. We did enjoy the excellent coverage and toasted the King's health and reign with a glass of something suitably festive. He's going to be a great King and an inspiration to many, as will Queen Camilla. Thanks for the very interesting video. Cheers! Phil
Brilliant stuff and very interesting. I’ve got to say that my favourite garment of His Majesty is his brambling jacket. There’s more patches than the original garment. Yet, it still looks good on him as he carries himself with such poise.
Excellent video, but there is a significant part of Charles III wardrobe and style that needs to be mentioned and that is his championing of highland wear. There is a host of chappish ettqutte to wearing kilts and tartan, from very relaxed to the most formal of occasions and the new monarch has been a style setter in this genre as much as in traditional suiting. Maybe there's a special 'Am I A Chap' tartan edition to be scheduled? 😉
Thank you for this intriguing analysis! I watched the ceremonies yesterday of course, after all there is not much left of respectable German ceremony in this era of the head of state being a retired government member in effect (grumblegrumble) and I greatly enjoyed it. From the start of my style journey I've been aware of the style of His Majesty Charles III, then the eternal Prince of Wales, because of several reasons. The first was of course I studied Anglistics followed by English teaching, but also because I really like his style of the flowing but sharp, not overly restrictive suits. As a bloke with several things to consider in a suit that are not commonly a matter of consideration (an ironic hooray for CD...) this way of styling truly resonates with me. It is also His Majesties preference over many years for the double breasted suit that opened up this style of suit to me, with me initially considering it a bit stodgy )remember I was in my mid-20s then...). So I'm personally thankful for the styling HM exposed me to via media presence and of course wish him all the best for his coming Reign! Vivat Rex Carolus Tertirius! 😉 Best regards Raoul G. Kunz
Limiting my observations of your new king to his sartorial journey I do admire his permanent and conservative style. The Anderson and Shepard house style of soft tailoring particularly suits him and it has been a great influence on my own style during many decades. My favorite King Charles suit is one which he is photographed in in the Flusser book 'Dressing The Man' on page 99. The suit is in a Saville Row silken dupioni materiel db of incredible elegance for a Hawaii visit , simply stunning!

Same here: I still think he's so well dressed: the ties, the shoes, the pocket squares. Just compare him to any other public figure, politician, celebrity etc. Only when it comes to double breasted suits I have to take a pass. It's only suitable if you're slim ... and I'm no longer the older I get.
Top observation of the fact that the King patches clothes and shoes. That opens up myriad possibilities when it comes to moth damage, or even ebay shopping. 👍
