hello. I flushed my eadiator today with clean water and eadiator flush. the issue is that when kept draining it with clean water the water came back imidiatly greasy without turning the bike on do even tho I flushed it properly three times. water was clean ,old coolant was clean to you think it's normal for the cooling system to be greasy 😊
Is there any way to check the coolant level, by checking the overflow reservoir for instance? When would you normally know when your coolant is bad or too low?
Open the radiator cap when it's cold. The overflow is... not necessarily indicative of anything. Checking if it's bad... if it doesnt look clean i suppose? It's cheap and easy enough to change that id change it if i dont know when it was done
@@Mad8vCycles Just checked: the overflow level is below the L, but still visible. The color itsself is still green tho. Would it suffice to just top it up or do I need a change. Not sure when it was last done, altho no cooling problems whatsoever, everything runs fine.
Had a coolant leak today. Turned out the o-ring on the water union at the back cylinder dissolved completely after doing its job there for 18 years. Checked the front water union o-ring on the front cylinder and it was on its way out too. Replaced both. All good.

On a 2g it's held by just one bolt right above the rear motor mount which you hit with a 10mm from the outside of the bike.. It then pulls straight up. Airbox may be in the way tho
@@Mad8vCycles yes I have double checked it my self and it seems that it is the correct screw for the 2nd gen 650, however this does not apply to the sv1000 as that one has the one I mean located lower. you can drain it or not, any GREEN coolant works. or just water.

Thank you very much for the tutorial.
you top off the radiator. if you need to refill the overflow you can do that as well but the overflow reservoir isnt critical

Is doing a coolant flush as simple as filling from the radiator with the drain bolt removed? Anything else I need to consider? Thanks!

stompgrips or techspec tank grips (pretty much all over the internet). i personally have hammergrips made by an svrider.com member bighammer
