Hey brother, full props here to you. These vids are great and so clean and easy to follow. If people can get past the assumptions of what this "type" of music is and "how it's just a bunch of loud noise", and actually listen to what is being laid down here, it is astounding. Such musicianship and musicality, along with a constant sense of melody. I play guitar. I also love this band, for obvious reasons. Seeing these vids from you actually made me buy a bass and amp to learn these bass lines. Thank you. Sincerely.
Thank you very much man :) I can't believe you actually bought a bass after watching these videos.. Have fun with it! Oh and what kinda bass did you buy?
Man, your videos are very useful to me and i'm glad you put them on this channel so they don't disappear. I'm still waiting impatiently for your heir apparent video, I hope you will cover it!
@@LeoBassCovers2 That's a shame :/ Well, I can always look for a tab, but it doesn't feel the same without the 5 strings bass! Do you plan to do more Gojira covers in the future, or it's simply not possible to put more songs out at the moment?
The part at the end where Martin changes what he’s playing is crazy. I was like wtf? Haha. I attempted this song when I first started playing bass and got to the slap part and walked away. Now with more experience I’ve come back and have found this is a very basic slap and found it very easy. Still having issues with the fast parts.
It's reaaaally difficult so don't beat yourself. You could also try to do a different position and play the fifth fret on the G string instead of going for that 10th fret not on the D string. could be easier for you, who knows..
@@LeoBassCovers2 i got it!!!! O man after 2+ weeks. I've learned blackwater park before but this song man and i dont even finish it, also the description in the video is very true haha, thanks for the advices it really help me (i speak spanish so my english is really bad)
LeoBassCovers thanks man, just learned up to the end of the slap section today. Still sounds a bit rough but definitely a more doable song than I originally thought. Also, thank you so much for these covers! Theyve really allowed me to grow as a bassist
Love this! Martin Mendez really makes the bass sing 😭❤️

Here The bass is stunning!

I hope so too. RUclips is slowly blocking my videos now so, I really don't know if it'll happen.

I would honestly love to, but I'm currently releasing covers of songs that I personally like. It's not really a business anymore.
incredible playing, so smooth and clear! Thanks for the tabs and playthrough!
A pleasure!
The fast part at 5:34 is just too good! Superb playing!
Thank you!

That part is really hard and it comes out of nowhere! But you'll get there
Love your bass tone, and of course great cover!
Awesome playing as usual
Mad cover brother! Great stuff 👍
Thanks a ton!
Amazing! fast and simple.
Thank you!
Excellent as always.
What distortion are you using?
Thanks! I think I used the KHDK Abyss pedal for this one.
I'm a bit late to the party, but this cover is really great! Did you learn it by ear or does something like an official "Opeth" bass book exist?
Thanks a lot! Opeth doesn't do official tab books so it's all by ear :)
@@LeoBassCovers2 Great work! It can be difficult to get all the nuances and details, especially with these creative lines.
Great cover :)
Thanks!
Nice job man
Thank you!
Very good video!!!
Thank you!
I cant play the 5:34 part, its frustrating

Leo,the video is not in the Opeth's cover playlist
It is now, thanks for the heads up!
Maybe the fast riff deserve a Riff exercise video?
Good suggestion!
once this comment is 6 months old, please reply and ask me if Ive learned this song yet
Start now and you'll be able to play it in a few days from now.
