I think had it not been for Kevin Smith Jay wouldn't be the man he is today. What a beautiful friendship. Most people that go through what Kevin did with Jay would've just kicked him to the curb. Kevin believed in him. It's like Johnny Knoxville and steve-o. It's like they were meant to come across eachother. Fate. (Of course I'm talking about drug addiction that Jay went through and overcame)
I highly recommend people watch Todd and the Book of Pure Evil. It's been described as having the "feel of Buffy the Vampire Slayer with potty-mouth” and its definitely a lot of fun. I got to be an extra in both the seasons and never had more fun working on a show.
seeing mall rats in theators when i was teen in the 90s was awesome! Todd and the book of pure evil was brilliant! sadly space only had it for 2 years! it should and could been so much more!
I was an extra in both the first and second season of Todd! Definitely a good fucking time and good fucking show. Sadly the scenes I worked on never featured Jason :(
The journey is from stoner to Hollywood stoner. Give that man a Nobel prize for such a breathtaking accomplishment. It would rank right up there with Obama receiving one for being black.
As an opiate addict I really noticed how high Jay was in dogma. I noticed it back when it was in theaters and people I was with were like "you're imagining things" and I'm like "no, look at his eyes! He's high as a kite!" To this day even after several years clean from opiates I can pick up on it from a mile away. It's like the sixth sense. " I see high people!"
They are one of the greatest comedy teams ever! IMO!! I grew up in Jersey. I had the chance to meet them. Both really cool guys! Kevin was the more outspoken one of course. 🏳️🌈🐻🌈🏳️🌈🐻🌈🏳️🌈🐻🌈
Jason Mewes...icon? Cult favorite? You're joking, right? He's irrelevant now, just as he was back then. "Clerks" was a crap movie that stoners and kids with bad taste clung to for one nano-second. Andy Warhol once said that everyone has their "fifteen minutes" of fame. Jason Mewes didn't even have fifteen SECONDS.
Have you seen Jason Mewes other movies outside the Kevin Smith universe of films?
Noobz is one. Dollar tree title. That's where I found my copy.
He’s in movies outside the Kevin Smith universe?
I love how theses guys are finally getting the recognition they deserve. You guys rule 🤘🤘

I saw his film silent but deadly. Funny, and entertaining. I like dogma, he was good in that one. Dogma is underrated and actually a great movie.
Rip Alan Rickman. I love his role in dogma one of his underrated roles as the Metatron
@@destinybutyourdadjustcalls6662 he did do a great job

We didn't even get it here in the states! Would have loved to see it!

I love jay hes a legend
Funny. Mewes went from stoner to Hollywood icon. His boy, Kevin Smith went from Hollywood icon to stoner.

And his Degrassi episodes. Jay and Silent Bob Go Canadian, Eh?
He was never a stoner, just a stoner icon.
Nah he was a stoner who went crackhead and then became a stoner icon.

Mewes looks crazy now, too much weight loss followed by a set of too clean falsies got him looking like I don't know what...
