The overhead shots are always too quick would be my only feedback. There's a few too many edits which is distracting. :)

Loving it! I get why Fran said what he did, but I also feel it kinda fits with the mood of the piece.

@@lad4694 I agree with Lad, at least in that the overhead shots weren't too quick. I enjoyed the editing, and the overhead does give a brief perspective on the finger agility needed to bring this to life. Too much overhead though might distract from the music, placing too much emphasis on technique.
On another note, Brendel still remains my favorite Beethoven interpreter, but this young woman showed a unique voice in her playing. I was greatly impressed by her dynamic control. It's what I struggle the most with in my own playing. Having a unique voice is not easy to do for a piece played and recorded by so many. Almost seems like a different player than the pianist who worked so hard on all the Chopin etudes.

I watched this video intermixed with watching Claudio Arrau play the same 1st movement. The differences were startling, but both were marvelous. Arrau, much later in his life, played slower, with more use of rubato and pianissimo and Annika had so much energy, control and expression. The whole sonata lends itself to a variety of interpretations and it was nice to hear a new voice.

Really beutiful! Honestly, I've heard this played by many known and unknown while teaching myself the 3 movements, and I would 100% rate yours at par with some great pianists in terms of just how meaningful you make it sound while being humble and careful not to overpower anything. So receptive to what's on the page. Learnt a lot. Love it.

5:28 is just magical to me!
it sounds as a dialogue ,as if spoken in a tender tone , but the words spoken are no less than a satire
,vocalised by the speaker like so that the listener is speechless, it seems as if the speaker is well aware of the impact of the words on the listener's mind
beethoven really was a genius -
I just can't express the feeling of this particular part to its depths
,and an amazing performance as always.

It was an honour and a delight to hear you play Beethoven’s Waldstein live in Alkmaar last week. I was there with my 13-year old nephew and a female friend. He’s still talking about it, you were his ‘first classical concert’ and you got a new fan in him 😊. He just started Sonata Facile ;).
Thanks for the (far too brief!) chat about Forest of Piano, the anime series, with its focus on Chopin op 10, no 1. There’s so much more to discover 😊!

I have noticed that very often the pieces I study coincide with the pieces played by my favorite pianists. This is the first sonata that I decided to play in its entirety, and it is a very serious step, and in order to overcome it, I need to work every day, but I cannot always be in a good mood and motivation. During the period when I took my hands off for a couple of days, I saw that you started a live stream of you playing the sonata, so I ran to the piano as fast as I had not run before and started playing with you. I'm so glad it turned out so well because it gave me a lot of energy and made me realize that if you can do it, so can I. Thank you for doing a great job on this brilliant job! ❤❤❤

You make it seem everytime easier then what it really is.

This pianist who gives us such beautiful moments, has a way of playing the piano that is disappearing. (Fournier on cello, Perlman on violin, Victoria de los Ángeles on singing...). My congratulations to her. She is an example for pianists and for the world in general. (Most of the young are lost).
Greetings from Spain, from someone who also lives in the heart of the keys.

The most played of the really mature Sonatas Beeth sonata besides op.57Appassionata and 109EMajor . I'm amazed at the sound tht she gets in singlenoteruns without pedal .Glassy good for middle Beethoven I think. Only Radu Lupu made me realize how many texture and musical problems had to be considered in this music . Wonderful here . Will we get glissando octaves in the finale ?
