Newman was so great. Always talked like he was performing his big Shakespearean monologue.
Steevin Suhgahl Exactly! Especially his rants towards Jerry! Straight Billy Shakespeare!
i litterally cant complain about any character in the whole show cause i love em all
2020 and i still love him
DuckyWuzHere - I was just talking about that. The casting was impeccable.
@@barad-dur9236 ikr it was great
Boy, if anyone ever left their mark on the 1990's, it was Wayne Knight. Between being the most iconic side character on the most iconic sitcom ever and perhaps the most popular show of the 90's, Jurassic Park, Space Jam, and Toy Story 2, Wayne Knight was a 90's icon for real.
But toy story 2 came out in the 2000's?
Tarzan
3rd rock from the sun….
@@Nicky2414 It came out in '99, so it's the back end of the 90s
Officer Don...🤣🤣
I just love the Wayne Knight played Newman, the way he moves. He moves so lightly and swiftly as if he was a thin man wearing a fat suit.
There's a movie on YT, The Fat Man-- the leading man is fat and has moves.
Larry David originally played Newman. It was a voice only role. When he decided to make Newman a recurring character and hired Wayne Knight, they dubbed in Wayne's voice for that first appearance.
It’s like if you’ve ever seen Jackie Gleason dance
Wayne knight a superb comedic actor 👌👌👌👌
😂 I love the scene where the dog chases him down the sidewalk
Jerry's always been a co-star on his own show. The amount if talent he was surrounded by is amazing. They made the show.
Yeah but he picked them
The supporting cast did make the show but jerry was good in his role. In most of the episodes Jerry's storyline were not the focal point. They set it up so the other stars could shine
Newman should have become a regular after the first few seasons.
He was supposed to be like an anime protagonist, so the audience could live vicariously through him and see themselves in the show, experiencing the richness of the other characters.
He's always been a writer, never an actor. He was the big name that got the show going and was never really more than just the anchor that held everything in place so that these phenomenal actors could work magic with his and Larry's writing
Newman is like a villain in cartoon show that always gets caught
Well he’s Dennis Nedry in Jurassic park
And he’s also Emperor Zurg in “Buzz Lightyear of Star Command” and in some episodes his Zurg voice comes out
@@thepoke-catcher5971He is Al from Toy Story 2
The funniest thing about Newman as a character is overhyping the mail system making it sound like some secret society that could accomplish anything.
In fact they do. Credit Card frauds? Mail system used to be a huuuuuuge friend of scammers before dark web. They still aren't trustworthy at all.
@@paulocraice they threw many votes away here in Scranton Pa
Isn't it....?
It is
Newman: "Zip codes? Totally useless."
Always considered Newman as the 'Fifth Beatle" on Seinfeld.
Not Bob Sakamano? ; )
Beat me to that comment haha
The Carol Cleveland to their Flying Circus.
Bob Sacamano was Billy Shears
Don't know if Puddy was the Yoko Ono then. Nah
The fact that such an iconic character was only on screen for all of 20 minutes (15 of which is here), is really something.
Are you serious 20 mins in all the ten seasons? Thats crazy if true!
@@chrisradnedge74 I think the total of all his on-screen time is only that much. Jackie Chiles was only about 15 minutes in total, or so.
I love how his voice gets higher every time he gets upset or irritated.
ALRIGHT
Jerry Seinfeld and Larry David wrote every character in this series to perfection. Newman was one of the funniest character in this series.
@Diana H
"I don't care much for the beach. I freckle"
I think in the world my friend. He is an excellent character.
What a character, and what an actor. No show will ever touch Seinfeld, simply the best.
The best Jerry…the best!
Yes it was & is the best
I am now convinced Newman is the greatest and funniest character of any television program ever.
+NES flashback They bring him out when they need something over the top.
He's definitely up there.
+Joshgts You should watch the show. It's super funny!
he. sure. is
+burger pants my favorite parts are his over the top rants where people have to yell "Newman!" to get him to stop.
7:14 "I'll tell you a little secret about ZIP codes...they're meaningless. MUAHAHAHA"
Gets me every time.
😂😂😂
Priceless😂
He is definitely the funniest supporting character of all time. IMO. When he starts flipping out, it's classic.
4:00 That bit where Newman is scared crappless while Kramer still coaches him to say "Make us" is hilarious and well acted all around.
He’s got good reason to be scared considering that’s the jigsaw killer he’s antagonizing 😂
And the shop guy goes for Newman even though Kramer clearly is the one coming up with the insults. Good comedy!
"You're not a little anything, Newman." Classic!!!
0:37 The look on Newman's face when he stops the door just gets me all the time.
me too
***** "Just being neighborly!"
***** Here is Newman!
+OrionMagnus i love how he neighborly FORCES himself in Jerry's appartment to get to that board
OrionMagnus Yes. Priceless!
"Jerry, I'm a little insulted."
"You're not a little anything, Newman."
It was never revealed why Jerry and Newman despise eachother making it all the more hilarious.
I bet it was something stupid 😂
@@mr.l8723 There's a theory that Newman despises Jerry because he's jealous of the fame he gets for being a stand-up comic and believes he doesn't deserve it while Newman considers himself a talent poet but never gets any recognition for his talents.
@@DragnBoi65 hmm… nah personally I think it’s funnier with absolutely zero basis
@@bigblue207 Fair enough.
It doesn't have to be revealed, if anyone has watched more than 2 episodes in the early seasons it's evident...he was jealous of Jerry. This high-tops and jeans wearing, stand up comedy here and there performing, happy go lucky "pretty boy" making crazy dough while Newman was an obese mail courier.
12:13 "You're a disgrace to the uniform."
"You know this is your coat..."
"Damn!"
The greatest part about this is how Jerry can't keep a straight face when Newman rips his own jacket XD
That's my favorite! Jerry starts to crack!
I love how Newman has a poster of a hot dog, and also a poster of butter in his apartment.
And the hot dog phone.
Wayne's acting in the scene with the records is brilliant how he changes from confidence to fear all by the puppeteer Kramer
Not only is he the best character on Seinfeld, he's one of the greatest fictional characters ever created
Fictional?
I just lose it with the beginning of the scene at 2:50. Newman almost has a heart attack over Kramer not answering him for any longer than 5 seconds. Cracks me up.
A legend, an iconic character, great writing but even better acting by Wayne
Newman was responsible for the incident at Jurassic Park
+CCTV9 he's also a villain in this show but in here he wins at the end
ah ah ah......ah ah ah......
Newman was also there when Sharon Stone spread her legs in Basic Instinct. He's a pretty good actor.
Jeff O He was also in JFK, which makes Jerry doing the magic lugie even funnier
Newman stole Woody
It was stroke of genius to have such a dramatic character in a show about nothing.
That court scene is one of the most well acted moments in sit-com history. 5:25
Absolutely 100%. Totally incredible. Easily as good as anything the Marx Bros, SNL, etc., ever pulled off.
Looool so good
Shit is hilarious. Kramer acts like a retard as usual and Newman is about to blow his lid.
Unbelievable. A mail man having such an amazing vocabulary. Newman and Kramer are simply great throughout the show.
He reads through people's mails
Even the love letters
And yet he doesn’t know the state abbreviations.
Newman & Jackie Chiles are the best thing to happened with Seinfeld.. with all the television history.
Even as a kid watching these on first runs, I KNEW Newman was a bad ass hilarious guy. That opinion stills holds up to this day. Jerry was screwed for life when he met Newman. Newman FOREVER!
Wayne Knight is a great actor.
Fantastic! One thing I can't believe was that they cut out his "OH THE HUMANITY!" when the truck's on fire.
George says "Who goes to super bowl with Newman" to which Jerry replies "Who goes anywhere with Newman". I really love this character
Wayne Knight is so good in comedy. I just love that guy.
"Pretty hot under these lights, eh seinfeld???"
"Actually im quite comfortable"
thats my favourite one
This show is genius. I love all of the moments where some other type of music plays, and some reference is parodied.
damn, Newman's pretty fast for a big guy.
He said that he got quick because he was always running from guys that wanted to beat him up.
Oh, yeah. The plus-sized, big-boned fatties often live to an advanced age.
Why, Leon Askin, who played General Burkhalter on Hogan's Heroes, lived to be 97 years of age.

wayne knight played high school football.
Jerry, Elaine, Kramer and George in all of their glory, in my opinion, it was the side-characters in Seinfeld that made the show the greatest sitcom of all time. There's so many iconic characters it's insane
Wayne Knight is one of my childhood heroes. All my speeches derive from his lines
"Newman you magnificent bastard" lmao that line always gets me laughing so hard
"it's pretty hot under these lights, eh Seinfeld? pretty... HOT"
"*sip*... actually, I'm quite comfortable"

"No :)"

The deep contempt in that "Hello Newmann" is so funny 😂😂😂
Underrated and under utilized.
I love the fact that it’s never explained why they’re sworn enemies.
That is the most evil character in the history of television.
Yes. I love him.
Uh, you know "Preacher" has both Hitler *and* Satan, right?
Keith Patrick , close, but still only a close second to Newman.
He puts Joffrey and Ramsay Bolton to shame.
Dr. Smith was good on lost in space
Props to Wayne Knight for being such a radly committed actor on Seinfeld.
Wayne Knight was just so incredible. I always thought that it was the secondary characters that really MADE this show, and Newman (along with the Costanzas) would be right at the top of that list.
"Vile weed! Somebody, quick, Honey Mustard!" Best line in the series
Vile Weed!! 😂 The Newman character still makes me laugh 😂
Love is a spice with many tastes, a dizzying array of textures… and moments!

7:48 - "what took you so long" is both macho-tough as well as powerless... So funny, you can hear the way the audience laughed..
His body language and the way he intonates & enunciates his dialogues are just brilliant...!
Almost every time Jerry says "Hello, Newman" he looks like he is trying really, really hard not to fall on the floor laughing. I wonder how many takes some of those "Hello, Newmans" took...
The Keith Hernandez bit is one of my favorites! “He ruined our day!”
Now that one was one of my least favorites
"When you control mail, you control... INFORMATION..."
welp, Newman predicted Google I guess...
Sammed Pandharkar no. It was always controlled information long before the Internet. It was easier to fool people then, with the Internet more people waking up and connecting, exposing many of the governments and religious lies out there.
When you control the mail, you can also control election results. I am not sending my ballot through the mail.
@@tavoiaiono8102 Except now it's much easier to track, censor, deplatform and erase history. Google is not a virtuous company. They could scrap RUclips in a heartbeat. You Right Wing fruitcakes are hilarious. Always looking for an exaggerated reason to be afraid of everything.
@@MLBlue30 It is not exaggerated thing to believe that a bunch of technocrats want to play god.
Wayne Knight was so awesome in this series. Great actor.
"And I'll be there, in all my glory...." Love it.
The very best character foil ever created.
Him, George, George's Dad, and Kramer will always be the best supporting characters in a tv show.
The courtroom scene where he’s using Kramer to waive the ticket is the best scene of all time
How in the name of Newman could you cut out "Oh, the humanity!!!"
Truth
Exactly!
THat's the best part!
It’s basically the punchline, you never skip the punchline.
i cant imagine anyone else doing this character. the cast was on top
Very talented actor.
2:52 Newman very desperately calling Kramer for no apparent reason always makes me laugh hard
My too. The hysterical nature of Newman flipping out all because Kramer isn't home always has me in tears.🤣
omg i never noticed that hahahaha
His cries of desperation and panic 😅😅 always get me
When you control the mail, you control...... Information!!!!

My favorite character is Newman everything he does is funny.
The day will come - mark my words...
Well it came at jurassic park
Newman once almost earned 1.5 M by selling frozen dino-embryo's!
Only to die while being attacked by a dinosaur in his Jeep. After he insulted the dinosaur saying "no wonder you're extinct".
It almost worked.. Newman is a genius!
Jos Tipker 1000 bottles and cans in the back, 1000 bottles and cans.

I love the way Newman speaks like he's from a 17th century play.. 🤣 lol 👍🏻
I love the bit with the record shop employee ...I LOATHE YOU!!

@@manhammerar1514 Good eye my friend
can't he see that Kramer is egging him on?
‘I’d just as soon hear you sing Mammy!’
“Some people are so ungrateful.”
He is totally unnappreciated in his time :D
One of the things about all the seinfeld characters is that none are especially interesting or unique. It is their little quirks that set them apart. A good writer and actor can make those tiny quirks into huge divides between characters.
I just love the way he says “Hello Jerry”. In a slick type of way.
should've gotten an Emmy he was hilarious
1:21 that devious exchange Newman gives always makes me laugh. I’ve probably seen that episode 20 times and it’s still up there with some of the best in the series.
I love the courtroom scene. Kramer and Newman commit several offenses that a court would take offense to. Newman badgers his own witness with Kramer when he says "Why, why did you fail?" And, then he is continuously leading his own witness when he is trying to get Kramer to go along with his story. My favorite scene with Kramer and Newman. It is absolute classic duo comedy.
I love it, huge difference between that smart comedy and nowadays bullcrap
Yo Yo Ma...
I'M distraught?? Woowoowoo
As a lawyer, the funniest thing i’ve ever seen!
it's Abbott & Costello but it could go either way!
Wayne Knight should have won an Emmy just for the courtroom scene, seriously one of the best comedic performances in sitcom history
I watched this clip hundreds of times! NO!...thousand of times!
newman was the best character on that show. he was hilarious
Such a great actor. Added so much to the show even tho he wasn't there much.
“I do charity work with the blind in my spare time” 😂😂😂
“At this point he became hysterical and began to scream my friends gonna die! My friends gonna die!”
"He never became a banker! A BANKER!".
The face that the judge made when he said that 😆
Thanks so much for breaking these episodes down by character. Absolutely awesome!
i just love the statement,... "Hellooo... Newman !!"
i really like how Newman has framed photos of hotdogs and cheeseburgers in his apartment
"Hello Newman." "Hello Jerry!"
That never gets old 😂
My insides are hurting! Love Newman and his hysterics! 😂
Newman's an absolute legend. Above all he's a side character and has only appeared in 45 episodes. Still he managed to create almost the same impact George and Kramer had in the audience ❤️. It's unequivocally true that no other sitcoms has such a hilarious side character. Examples like Gunther in Friends, Carl in HIMYM or Stuart in TBBT are utter trash when compared to Newman.
Newman is my favorite character
When he went "Whoever controls mail...!" I think thought for a solid second he'd complete with "... controls the UNIVERSE!" and float to the ceiling.
You CAN'T have a Newman compilation without "broccoli - the vile weed!!!"
"We got Al Jolson here!"

"What the hell do I care about Al Jolson? I'd just as soon hear you sing mammy".

That's what made Seinfeld great. A multitude of great characters.
Same is true of shows like Frasier, Martin, The Andy Griffith Show, and Sanford and Son. The main and supporting casts on these shows were the very best!
Notice at 3:22 when Newman and Kramer are at the record store the guy behind the counter talking to them is actually Tobin Bell the actor that plays jigsaw ❤️❤️❤️
Always felt the simple comedy of this group. Best in their time
There was this character on Frasier named Cam Winston. He was a guy who lived in Frasier's building and was Frasier's arch nemesis. He only appeared in 3 episodes, all in season 9. If he had been in more, he could have been Frasier's version of Newman.
+Kyle Oxenham As defined by the treaty.
Cam WIIIIINSTON!
Ha, I never thought of him as Newman-esque, but you have a point. I loved it when Martin staged a romance with Cam's mother.
Yeah, that was good.
The grin on his face at 1:28 after "directly to me!" is too damn funny.
LOVE HIM..such a great addition or whatever you call him on the show...always great..love him or dislike him..great actor...
Thank you for this.
