I think this was your best ever vocal. JustinTime too ;) as literally discovered this song for the first time last week and can't wait to crack into it. Thanks Justin!!
I've been watching your videos and learning alot along The way. I think you are great. This is one of your best videos ever! What a fantastic song. Great work. Hang in there and take care. Best wishes from Sweden// Christian
Amazing lesson, amazing song, it’s one of my NY favs. Thanks so much Justin. I have a ways to go before I can deal with the alt tuning…. Just a pleasure to watch you break this down and play it! ❤
On the chorus, second time around, add the 2nd finger 3rd string on the 9th fret. Then back to the original formation as you slide back down to the 3rd and 5th...that one little note really accentuates the "everything you're looking for" vocal.
Great lesson Justin! You really nailed the cover, even the high vocal notes (which isn't easy in a Neil song). Your lessons lead me to discover Neil a few years ago, and now I'm a massive fan. I've listened to all his albums, even the stuff from the 80s.
Just discovered Neil Young. Obviously I’ve heard of him before but never listened to his music before now. Amazing. I’ve picked up Greendale on vinyl WOW. Now to learn some of his songs on guitar. 👍
Yip that’s a subtle and well played version of that tune. The resolution to the B flat gels with you the pleasure you get is written on your face. Excellent this version has authenticity’s stamp all over it.
Great choice, Justin. I saw Neil play this during the Greendale tour in L.A. at the Greek. Sun Green is another tune to learn from this album. Thanks much. Bud.
Brilliant, love this song. Ever thought of doing a lesson on Neil's theme tune for Dead Man? Great acoustic part with raging electric on top. Amazing track.
The full cover at the end of the lesson is great by the way. Nice to hear you play the whole thing but also really helpful to understand how the whole song fits together.
Hi Justin. Thanks so much for your channel. I am a recent subscriber and appreciate all the time and devotion you give in order to help with our music. Here in Canada we are under lockdown for some time in the area I am in and I can no longer make it to the nail salon for my "perfect guitar" nails that i am now accustomed to. Any suggestions to help out with keeping my nails well? perhaps if you have knowledge of a good kit I can buy so that I can do it myself and not have to rely on others, that would be so much appreciated. I've looked around but am confused by the information I've come across on what actually works the best.Thats why I thought I would ask an expert such as yourself. Thank you so much again.
Hi Justin, I follow you from Italy. Bandit cover is gorgeous. You are really good. I am trying to learn it. I must say that your tutorials are really well done. It is a pleasure to follow you. You can do a tutorial of the song: Do for the others by S.Stiils? thanks and congratulations. Max
Wonderful rendition Justin and makes it sound doable for us mere mortals😂 Can you please do a lesson on Goin' Back by NY, might be a nice intro to double drop D for us NY fans, thanks - Don

Justin, sir (and everyone here), can you please provide Double Drop D in Bb tuning for 12 strings guitar? I have a tuner for Double Drop D, but how I can go then to Bb? Thanks in advance.
It dind't take a whole lot to be honest, was just one that came up on my spotify playlist that morning and I was like dayum, I need to learn that... and 30 mins later I was ;)
@useD raW Ill check them. Neil actually learned alot from Davis Crosby and Stephen Stills early in his career. So that didnt hurt. He also was in a band with Rick James
Thanks for posting! If you have a minute, I posted a cover of 'True Colors'. As a fellow music fan, I'd love if you'd check it out. It's on my channel. Hope you enjoy. Don't go too tough on me :)
well done Justin!, one of Neil's best tunes! love the full album
Brilliant 👏 🎸🎶☮💙
Justin doing another Neil song on his froggy bottom? I couldn’t have clicked this any faster, you make it sound unbelievable 😀
:)
I think this was your best ever vocal. JustinTime too ;) as literally discovered this song for the first time last week and can't wait to crack into it. Thanks Justin!!

Never herd of this one! What a great chord progression too!
It's such a beautiful one! Enjoy :)

The low tune just feels wonderfully warm.
You keep getting better and better. Magnificent... And thanks for the annotations on the details.
So brilliant song, so perfect cover. Thank you.

Such an amazing song. Real proper fun!
Please never stop doing Neil Young songs
Thanks Mr. S!
Great lesson. Seems I've just discovered Neil Young!
WTFWTFWTFWTFWTF
This song was on my wishlist for you too do. Along with Thrasher, Ambulance Blues, Kansas, Through My Sails, Mellow My Mind among many other deep cuts
its amazing !! thanks :)
Glad you like it!
So, tune down two full tones, then drop the outer strings down another semitone. Like nothing before! Just love it. Any other songs in this tuning?
Lovely cover. Really great vocals - made it your own
Thanks a lot!
Great choice, Justin. I saw Neil play this during the Greendale tour in L.A. at the Greek. Sun Green is another tune to learn from this album. Thanks much. Bud.
That's cool eh! :)
Me too! Went to all 3 shows at the GREEK Theater. July 2003. Brilliant stuff.
Yeah that's a killer tune too - I should do ti.
Phenomenal album indeed
That tuneing adds to the nuances
Nice one, I reckon this would sound magical on a Baritone Guitar, the sustain and tone would resonate so well. I'm going to check it out. Cheers!
How in the bloody hell do you transcribe a song in such a different tuning? Incredible lesson
Neil does a lot of great stuff in this double drop d tuning. I don’t know if I’m tuning all the way down to Bb...
I love you cos you love Neil. Freaking awesome man!
Great 👍
Nice singing!
Brilliant, love this song.

@@peterllewellyn9655 Cheers, it's fun for me too :)
Wonderful rendition…imho, better than Neil’s. Thx for this. On the top of my list of songs to learn
Fantastic Justin! Thank you so much!!!! “Would you consider a tutorial on “The Old Laughing Lady’? Many thanks from NC USA

Hi Justin, which guitar model are you playing in this video?
As lovely as that tuning is I don’t think I would go that far as a bedroom guitarist 👍
Thank you Justin, btw what guitar are you playing?
Is this drop Bb tune same what Neil used in "Don't let it bring you down"? So unique and beautiful tune. Remainds me about some of Dylan tunes

Great video Justin!! Could you make love of my life by the queen next? 😄
Justin, sir (and everyone here), can you please provide Double Drop D in Bb tuning for 12 strings guitar? I have a tuner for Double Drop D, but how I can go then to Bb? Thanks in advance.
Merry Christmas, can u pls do a tutorial on how to play Chariot by mega, my girlfriend wants me to learn it so she can sing it 😁
Is the tuning "good" for the guitar neck?
Can you make a lesson for "Tuesday Dead" by Cat stevens? :)
Maybe!
@@JustinGuitarSongs this made me laugh! I hope you can.
Justin, play "Come Together" by The Beatles, ¿You know the lyrics to sing?
Hi Justin,
Hi! :)
Can you make a lesson for "Interstate" by Neil Young?
What Guage strings for such detuning?
Are .13 enough
I have trouble down tuning a half step with the strings feeling slack and vibrating all over the place, need to pick softer!
I just listened to the original. It reminds me of Rockabye by Shawn Mullins.
Call me crazy but I think Greendale is Neil Young’s best album.
Justin would have liked to see you transcribe this Thank You 🎸
It dind't take a whole lot to be honest, was just one that came up on my spotify playlist that morning and I was like dayum, I need to learn that... and 30 mins later I was ;)
Its a great song but not as good as Colour of You! Would love to learn it in the future!
I guess I'm going to hunt down the original. I don't think I have ever heard the album this is off.
Well done Justin. Thank you! Got to see Neil do live during his 2003 Greendale tour. Always wondered what the tuning was.
Drain You - Nirvana?
Its like he just changed the strings and didnt have time to wind them
Feels like that at first - but it's real nice when you get into it.
It sounds great, Neil couldnt write a bad song if he tried.
@useD raW Neil Young must have written his bad songs in secret then
@useD raW Ill check them. Neil actually learned alot from Davis Crosby and Stephen Stills early in his career. So that didnt hurt. He also was in a band with Rick James
@useD raW You can play just fine. Nice strat. I have a mexican strat, tobacco sunburst.
hey justin can you do a tutorial on cliffs of dover? i’ve been trying to learn it but im stuck on some parts.
If I could play it I might do one - but I don't have good enough picking technique!
Neil has always tuned his guitar to match his voice...lol.
Thanks for posting! If you have a minute, I posted a cover of 'True Colors'. As a fellow music fan, I'd love if you'd check it out. It's on my channel. Hope you enjoy. Don't go too tough on me :)
