Deep Fried Deviled Eggs - Great for your Holiday Meals or a Fun Appetizer!

- Deep Fried Deviled Eggs
6 hard boiled eggs (or more)
scant 1/2 cup Kraft Sandwich Spread
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
2 or 3 eggs (depending on their size)
1 cup plain breadcrumbs
1 cup Panko breadcrumbs
1/4 cup grated Parmesan Cheese
1 big pinch Cayenne Pepper
Oil for frying
Chopped fried bacon, optional
Remove yolks from hard boiled eggs. Place them in a bowl with the Kraft Sandwich Spread and, using a fork, mash together the yolks and sandwich spread. Place in the refrigerator to be used after the egg whites are deep fried.
Set up your three dredging stations: 
First, in a large bowl, combine the flour and the salt. This is your first dredge. 
Second, in a separate large bowl, beat the eggs until combined. This is your second dredge. 
Third, in another large bowl, combine the plain breadcrumbs, Panko, Parmesan, and cayenne pepper. This is your third dredge. 
Dredge one of the egg whites in the flour. Then dip in the beaten eggs to cover completely. Now dredge in the breadcrumb mixture making sure that the entire egg is coated. Set aside until you have four egg whites ready to fry.
When your oil is at 350° - 360°, carefully add the four coated egg whites and fry for 60-90 seconds, or just until golden brown. Remove to a paper towel covered cooling rack to drain and cool. Repeat the process with four more egg whites at a time until all the egg whites have been dredged , fried, and drained. 
Once cooled, gently move the deep fried eggs to your serving plate. Remove your egg yolk mixture from the refrigerator and fill each fried egg cavity with a dollop of the egg yolk mixture. If desired, top with slivers of fried bacon. Serve immediately.

The recipe sounds perfect. Tom, I noticed your cruising T-shirt. My late wife and I took an Alaskan Cruise with Princess Cruises in 2011 from Seattle and back with stops in Juneau, Skagway, and Victoria, BC. We also cruised into Glacier Bay National Park. Unfortunately, after our cruise, my late wife started having health issues which culminated in a cancer diagnosis that claimed her life. We loved the cruise experience and actively planned more cruises, but it was not meant to be. I certainly can relate to the T-shirt. We did not want to disembark from the ship. My mother always used Kraft sandwich spread to make deviled eggs and that is always what I use to this day. They are wonderful and I always get compliments.

What do you do to get rid of the used oil. I never deep fry because I never know how to get rid of all that mess.
Let it cool down, then simply dump it into your house hold garbage bag. All of the paper waste, will soak it up!
Either that, or you can place it in a jar with a lid, once it’s cool and throw it out with the garbage.

Tom, very interesting concept. Never have I really desired deep fried eggs.
Here’s my take on this. I worked at a restaurant which produced about 100 servings each (per day) of Fried Cheese, Mushrooms, Zucchini and Onion Rings.
We would always double bread our items. After breading they went on a plastic tray and had plastic wrap in between the layers and on top of the full tray.
Items stayed ready to use for 24-48 hrs., until more were produced.
Your recipe should do a double bread coating. This will allow you to make everything the day prior. Then the day you desire them, simply fry and fill!

Sadly, panko crumbs in food has started to feel like dirt in my mouth and for the life of me I can't move past it. I used to love it and always have it, frozen for freshness. I still must try your deep fried deviled eggs anyway. They're similar to scotch eggs. Looks appetizing, ty T&M!!!!!

Mayonaise,mustard salt, pepper spoon of dill pickle relish. I do not like sandwich spread.
I make mine the same way but I am going to try the sandwich spread to see if I like it.😊

My husband and I just watched this video. We were so curious to watch it because we had never heard of deep-fried deviled eggs. This is a must try for our family. You did say to not only use panko because they won't stick as well as when you put bread crumbs in them. What would happen if you used only bread crumbs and no panko? Would the same thing happen?

Hey there Tom! I haven’t watched this video yet because I just wanted to tell you I cooked that chicken and dumplings casserole for the first time and it was lights out. That's a possibility. We don't use our air fryer enough. Your comment is motivating us to use it more than we do. I guess because so many of our recipes came to us from friends and family before the air fryers hit the market.
