Okay but like the opening to a cartoon had no business slapping this hard. It is still the best opening to any cartoon I've ever heard. W.i.t.c.h. Will forever hold a precious place in my heart. Disney needs to revive it with this similar animation style and do a remaster of this absolute tune as the theme. Everyone has shown love to winx club but W.i.t.c.h. honestly is just so much better and the song alone proves it
I would love to do a live action version in the vein of Once Upon A Time & come up with a way to slowly work up to the costumes, but given that it's Disney owned, it would cost a fortune to just get to the point where a pilot could be made & the executives would be constantly arguing as to whether it was meant for kids & should be more like their sitcoms, or meant for adults & there should be more romance/ adults-playing-teens type of stuff instead of just letting it be what it wants to be- a dark monster of the week type show with actual teens in the roles.

This is such an awesome intro song, really love the intense guitar playing and it fits the more darker tone of the comic books (the cartoon show is more lighthearted).
So many people saying that the UK version of the opening is superior but I like this version better. It might just be the nostalgia talking, but I really do love this song and the lyrics feel more fitting for the series' tone (well, at least in accordance with the comics).
I actually seeing more people liking this opening more. I like both, but not both in English. I like this as it is (plus the Espanol), but for the US-version I like the Finnish and the Hungarian one, not the English.
It was in part inspired by Sailor Moon just as any magical girl show does be it anime or western. Sailor Moon basically became the blueprint for the modern magical girl genre. The W.I.T.C.H. animated series came out in mid December of 2004 and ATLA came out in February 21, 2005. W.I.T.C.H. animated series was adapted from the comic books which originally came out in April of 2001. ATLA didn't exclusively use the elements as a part of their story either. Don't get me wrong, ATLA is a great show but not everything was necessarily inspired by it because something shares some similarities with it.

Sailor Moon was the first mainstream magical girl anime, with a wide international audience and which got many people into anime, and become the icon that it is today and a source of inspiration for many anime and even cartoons that came after.
Because I'm getting a few comments saying the same thing, and this will disappoint many, but the chances of Disney adding W.I.T.C.H. onto Disney+ is VEEEEEEEERRRRRY slim. Disney cares more about any of their properties that will make them a lot of money and W.I.T.C.H. isn't one of them. It has a decent number for its fanbase but let's face it, it's not on the same level as properties such as Phineas and Ferb, Gravity Falls, and other really popular cartoon shows. If they ever do add it, I'll be shocked. You can hope and wish but you're only gonna be disappointed. Keep your expectations low. That's the best advice I can offer.

Well, the TV show is not as good as the comics: in the comics there are a lot of adventures, evolution in the personalities and also physical aspect of the witch, there are suggestions (some of them very very good, for example when Taranee left her boyfriend when the relationship was becoming toxic) about how to deal with your adolescence life and the real world, there are difficult situations explained in order to show other realities (for example the fact that Will´s mother is divorced, and that Will´s father only wants money and does not care about his daugther). The witch confronts these situations, mature, finds their ways in life, each of them have their own conflicts (Cornelia and her personality, Irma and her physical aspect, Taranee and the fact that she is adopted, Will and the divorce, Hay Lin and the death of her grandmother, Orube and her feelings), each of them surpass their insecurities, learn from their mistakes, recognise their mistakes, value the true friendship, forgive themselves and others... I mean, there a lot of good messages in the comics, and the TV show did not make it justice at all. If somebody wants to revive witch, read the comics again, they are excellents.

Just as you have your opinion, me and others have theirs. I personally got into W.I.T.C.H. first when I was a kid and into Winx Club as an adult. W.I.T.C.H. holds a special place in my heart more than Winx Club does.
Loved watching this during the summer. Great story and a kickass theme song to go with it. But even now I still wonder how powerful the girls be when they get older and their prime.
Very powerful since they've taken a test to see if they keep their powers after Kandrakar took back the heart of Kandrakar in the comics. It makes sense their powers would only grow stronger as they get older (and maybe as they train). As powerful the Heart of Kandrakar is, it only gave them limited powers. Without it and having a more natural abilities, there's room for all sorts of things to happen.
Ah yes, the nostalgia! It was a great show! I always loved this theme song and the fight scenes were animated very well! Admittedly though, I preferred the original comics for this series, the show changed or cut out nice plot points from them. And then Disney only published the first 2 story arcs in graphic novels (the same ones for the show's 2 seasons), before deciding not to renew their distribution contract with the IP holders of W.I.T.C.H. in Europe. But the comic continued for like 14 more story arcs over about 15 yrs, the scans are still floating around online.

I was a little sad that the last few "arcs" of the comic were just groupings of episodic self-contained plots. But I guess all good things have to come to an end... If W.I.T.C.H. were Power Rangers, their Ranger team name can either be: • Power Rangers Kandrakar • Power Rangers Guardian Knight • Power Rangers Magic Pixie
I'd go for the second one. Kandrakar would be their base of operations when it comes to ranger business, just like the command center was in MM-Zeo, Astro Space Ship in In Space, Terraventure in Lost Galaxy etc. Earth and other worlds would just be places they hung out in or had to visit for missions.
Fun Fact: A French storyboard artist on this show's animation team (and on the Totally Spies & Code Lyoko teams), Thomas Astruc, went on to create his own CGI cartoon series starting in 2016. It's now one of the most popular currently airing cartoon series for kids that's NOT made/contracted by Disney or Dreamworks. It's Miraculous Ladybug. I'm in my 20s now but I came across a thriving young-adult fanart fandom for ML and then got drawn in. Marinette & Adrien's secret identity woes, crush angst, and quirky high-jinks as Parisian superheros echoes that of the W.I.T.C.H girls and I guess my nostalgia for it all drew me in, lol. Astruc has definitely used his experience working on these old favs to build upon and make the kids tv series that truly has a global fandom....
I watch Miraculous Ladybug too but unfortunately for MLB, it's stuck in that limbo of having poorly written characters and a lead character who is basically a mary-sue at this point. The concept is great but not so much the execution.
W.I.T.C.H. The Series should be on The Disney Plus's Streaming Service to watch all the different Season's of it on the Disney Plus Streaming Service's!
Such a good show. If they had a reboot following the original comic series I would be watching every episode. Maybe into beyond because the comic ended with them introducing new powers using their five senses and a fusion form called Sixtar.

News has been going around the internet these past few days about a possible W.I.T.C.H. comic reboot following a more shoujo manga style. We'll have to wait and see what comes of it. No news about what Disney would actually do, since it owns the rights.

I think the first 3 seasons of Winx Club was equal to W.I.T.C.H. (Specifically season 3) but the later seasons of Winx Club aren’t as good.

I was a little sad that the last few "arcs" of the comic were just groupings of episodic self-contained plots. But I guess all good things have to come to an end...

I think this is where rwby got there name for the title since w.i.t.c.h is the main characters initials kind of like in rwby
W.I.T.C.H. isn't the first fandom, or anything for that matter that at formed an acronym based on the first letters of the main characters' names or names of places or organizations etc..
I still hate how the anime is called Rwby but it doesn't spell Ruby at all which kinda bugs me, and then the main character is named Ruby which totally throws the whole thing off in a way.

You ever notice that RWBY has the 4 colors of humourism? Sanguine (red), phlegmatic (white), malencholy (black), and choleric (yellow)....and the characters have those respective personality traits. I noticed this on my own and i only watched the first 3 episodes.

If W.I.T.C.H. were Power Rangers, their Ranger team name can either be:
• Power Rangers Kandrakar
• Power Rangers Guardian Knight
• Power Rangers Magic Pixie
I'd go for the second one. Kandrakar would be their base of operations when it comes to ranger business, just like the command center was in MM-Zeo, Astro Space Ship in In Space, Terraventure in Lost Galaxy etc. Earth and other worlds would just be places they hung out in or had to visit for missions.
Fun Fact: A French storyboard artist on this show's animation team (and on the Totally Spies & Code Lyoko teams), Thomas Astruc, went on to create his own CGI cartoon series starting in 2016. It's now one of the most popular currently airing cartoon series for kids that's NOT made/contracted by Disney or Dreamworks. It's Miraculous Ladybug.
I'm in my 20s now but I came across a thriving young-adult fanart fandom for ML and then got drawn in. Marinette & Adrien's secret identity woes, crush angst, and quirky high-jinks as Parisian superheros echoes that of the W.I.T.C.H girls and I guess my nostalgia for it all drew me in, lol. Astruc has definitely used his experience working on these old favs to build upon and make the kids tv series that truly has a global fandom....
I watch Miraculous Ladybug too but unfortunately for MLB, it's stuck in that limbo of having poorly written characters and a lead character who is basically a mary-sue at this point. The concept is great but not so much the execution.

Technically, Winx Club came after W.I.T.C.H. but yes. Sailor Moon paid a huge role in influencing the original creator of the W.I.T.C.H. comics.

News has been going around the internet these past few days about a possible W.I.T.C.H. comic reboot following a more shoujo manga style. We'll have to wait and see what comes of it. No news about what Disney would actually do, since it owns the rights.

I know it's probably a thing with tossing between animation studios, but Will floating down post-transformation with her team bugs me because her colors are WAY more flat than they are anywhere else, they lose all color depth with that team shot and then back to normal.
