I feel like Trevor can read Nat a little more, but Nat has a very solid defense to back himself up. Keep up the good work guys inspiring to watch as always!
This is why pressure testing is so important. Even tho they aren’t going hard they clearly know how to fight with traditional martial arts as their base. Being a master of a martial art should mean something, it should mean you know to fight and theirs so many tkd and karate practitioners that don’t know how to fight
I wish I can find sparring partner like you guys, actually training to get better. All my sparring karate partners here in Puerto Rico think they are at the UFC of Muay Thai champions going full force full power. Actually feels like I'm fighting for my life in every training sesion. Oh but they dont go and compete with other schools not even if God ask them to it. Great video Love it!!
@nathearn I will keep trying , thanks Sensei @Nathearn ! Also thanks for inspiration to start my own martial art channel to help people achieve their goals. Osu!!
Nat did well using techniques that aren't often seen in shiai kumite. However, he missed several opportunities for sweeps and takedowns against Trevor. He also could have executed "anticipaciones'" to many of Trevor's techniques (I'm using the Spanish term because I'm not sure what it's called in English-"anticipation" in kumite videos doesn't seem to match). I believe fighters experienced in shiai kumite would have take a lot of advantage from these elements.
Just bought your flexibility program. I’ve been training shotokan since I was 4 and about to take my 2nd Dan now (19). I wish I focused on my flexibility more, hopefully I can bring it back up with your course!

Hey nat do you have the background music of the last sparring video you did with josh , Trevor where you went into a tkd gym. That music was really good...
A minute is not nearly long enough. You don't have enough time to throw a variety of kicks to disguise your intention if you have a harder kick, you don't have time to condition the opponent to expect something else. Also, landing a question mark is infinitely easier than a side kick because it already has it's own fake built in! Interesting exercise though. I might try this in a few weeks.
idk about a question mark kick being necessarily easier to set up, I usually manage to set up my sidekicks just fine with a front leg roundhouse/hook kick. the trick is to work on being able to throw all three from basically the same chamber 👍
@@LordSwagtron Bill Superfoot Wallace was famous for doing exactly what you say, but you strong legs, and a powerful chamber to accomplish it. Bill also use his lead shoulder to protect his chin and he fought fully sideways on.
@@Martial-Mat i’ve noticed Wonderboy Thompson do it a lot too, in fact he has a video on it (if I remember correctly it was titled something like “the Universal Chamber”, one of his students is the one demonstrating it)
Picked up alot the hook kick is better for shorter range and and mid level and cresent kick is good for starting attacks and forming them and keeping them available after using cresent
Y’know that feeling you get when you watch professionals play video games? That’s the feeling I got while watching this video, cuz let’s be honest, anime and cartoon fights are pretty unrealistic, no one’s gonna do a quintuple side flip just to dodge a round house kick
I do have a question, maybe someone who reads this can also give some advice. I do have a fear of hitting someone or maybe it's getting hit idk but when it comes to sparring is there a way to get over it?
I think it’s because he was trying to land the challenge wining move, karate bs taekwondo is the title because that’s just each of their preferred styles
In most of these they’re trying to land kicks on each other. Punches work effectively at a much closer range than kicks do, and they’re trying to stay back in “kick range” to land the winning blow rather than getting in close and out of kick range for a punch.

Lucky there wasn’t a back kick 🫣💀
Hahaha true
Great vid as always🔥
This is what I think I look like when shadow sparring. I do front kick into a back kick into a side kick. I switch kick techniques after every kick.
the last two kicks were so hard to land, especially the spinning hook kick in a confined area like that 😅
I wouldn't be able to do that! You both did a good job

Does Trevor do ITF taekwondo?
I don't think so

Yes because as long you keep it friendly and not personal it’s all good 👍🏾
what style of karate do you do?

why are you using boxing gloves for taekwondo??
what else would you use theres no grappling or clinching
There are two types of tae kwon do, WT and ITF, in ITF they mostly do more punches than kicks sorry for my bad writing im not a native speaker
