Not a Mormon, or even a Christian (though I was raised Lutheran), but I still observe Christmas. Been watching the Tabernacle Choir's Christmas performances for years now, as they capture the spirit of the season like nothing else. Merry Christmas to all with tidings of comfort, joy, and goodwill.

“…and with his blood, mankind has bought…” Our church choir sings this arrangement every year. When I get to this phrase, I am always too overcome with emotion and sincere gratitude to be able to sing. What Christ has done for me is incomprehensible. It is truly humbling.

I remember singing this in a choir when I was like 10. I couldn't understand the lyrics but this song always made me cry. It was very hard to compose myself.
Of all the arrangements that exist of this song, this one in particular is my absolute favorite. And the third verse that has been added just increases the beauty of the song for me.

I don't think anything captures the spirit of Christmas quite like the third verse here. My family and I sung this at Church for Christmas last year. This is simply beautiful.
Whereas I may not be, in whole, one of the community, I still hold this.....THIS arrangement and performance, to be, by far, my most favorite Christmas song. It gives me the most comfort and more HOPE than anything else.

This is my favorite arrangement of this glorious song…the beautiful vocal harmonies, heavenly strings…the French horn coming in…harp…I feel as though I am with the angels who sang on the night of our Savior’s birth. It brings in the Spirit of Christmas- of peace in this crazy world
