    When using Astarion you might try using Sneak Attack, it does more damage. You need to be attacking someone next to another one of your characters or someone you have advantage against. You can get advantage by attacking while hidden. Rogues have a special ability called Cunning Action: Hide that allows them to hide as a Bonus Action, so you can hide and attack on the same turn (or attack then hide if you started your turn hidden).

      @nathanmerzke3590 ooooo this is helpful! So by using sneak attack I cause more damage to the enemy. I'm guessing I have to be behind them for this to work or does it work no matter what?

    As I understand it, Mizora is a cambion, a race of evil beings who serve both devils and demons. Devils and demons themselves tend to hate one another - devils being lawful evil contract signing monsters and demons being chaotic evil sowers of discord. In Mizora's case, she serves the archdevil Zariel, and so Wyll is hunting demons, the enemies of his ultimate boss. Now, you will find demons who hate other demons and devils who hate other devils too, but between the two there is definitely no love lost.

      @@kiki_maliki I'm making a bit of an assumption here, tbh, since this is the way it is in the Pathfinder games. It SEEMS to be true here though, so take it as a probability not a definite answer. That's why I said "as I understand it" heh. :) Great playthrough. Looking forward to your next and need to check what else you're running.

  • @ThreatLevelGod

    Some fun DnD lore the game doesn't tell you that might help with this devil stuff. Devils and Demons in dnd are two different creatures and not the same thing. In fact, devils and demons are at war with each other, it's called the Blood War, which is the war Karlach mentions fighting in. Raphal and Mizora are both devils, not demons so Wyll teamed up with a devil to kill demons which makes sense. The game doesn't really ever explain that which can make some of this confusing

    • @kiki_maliki
      @kiki_maliki  10 месяцев назад +2

      Thank you @ThreatLevelGod ! That clears it up a little especially for someone who's never played D&D or any type of D&D Games before. So what exactly is the difference between demons and devils or will I find that out later in the game?

    • @ThreatLevelGod
      @ThreatLevelGod 10 месяцев назад +4

      @@kiki_maliki The game never tells you much about this at all so I will
      Devils are lawful evil creatures (Lawful Evil means you're evil, but you still follow the rules. Its just that the rules are also evil.) and they come from the nine hells, so whenever someone mentions the hells they are usually talking about devils. They are all pretty uniform in appearance, having a strange skin color, big wings, horns, black eyes and a tail. Tieflings look similar to devils becasue they are half breeds between humans and devils which is why they get a bad reputation. You can tell the difference since Tieflings don't have wings
      Demon's are chaotic evil (Which means they have no respect for rules, other people's lives, or anything but their own desires, which are typically selfish and cruel.) They come from a place in dnd called the Abyss which I haven't seen mentioned in BG3 myself. There is only one demon in all of BG3, a missible summon called Shovel. If you meet Shovel, he is a demon. They generally are less uniform in appearance and most of the time more monstrous then devils
      The Blood war Kalach mentions being forced to fight in is a war between Devils and Demons as Demons are trying to break into the hells. So she was forced by a Devil to fight the demons. She does mention killing devils also, which makes sense considering she wasn't there of her own will and thus isn't really on either's side

      @@ThreatLevelGod thank you for the lore 😊 I was getting so confused between demons and devils but this really helps! It's a shame they don't explain it a little better in the game especially for people like me who have no knowledge of D&D
      But at least I have you and everyone else in the comments explaining everything to me. I'm too scared to look it up as I don't want any spoilers for the game so I'm just in the dark knowing nothing 😅

    re: the harpy fight...they are harpies...they are luring the characters with a charm, thats why they were moving of their own accord, and the kid couldnt run away. Also with astarion, try to use his bonus actions to do cunning hide/cunning dash etc and get in good position, preferable hidden, then use your sneak actions to attack. get to know the difference between action and bonus actions, you get one of each, each turn. (sometimes more if you have certain feats, equipment, class options etc)

    Thanks for the video; I'm enjoying you learning the game.
    Okay, Sorcerer Points. I really don't want you to make my mistake, where I was still forgetting to use them at the end of Act Two! Someone correct me if I'm wrong, they are the main mechanic that makes them different from Wizards. Before you cast anything, always go to your Sorcerer Point actions (far right of the hotbar) to see whether you want to use them; they give you a proper edge in battle.
    My random thoughts:
    - Did you notice that Astarion didn't take part in the fight with the fake paladins because he was in sneak and never spotted? :D
    - I watched you do a Short Rest then immediately follow it with a Long Rest, which confused me. I know I'm behind in viewing so you probably already learned that Short Rest restores half health while Long Rest restores all health, all spell slots, and removes all conditions
    - Yes, thank you! Wyll is an absolute hypocrite!
    - Larian felt it necessary to do a specific tweet about pronouncing Astarion's name correctly xD (a-STAR-ion, not a-STAIR-ion) xD
    You're doing great; happy exploring!

      @kiki_maliki  9 месяцев назад +1

      @SilveryRow I'll definitely try to remember that about the sorcerer points 😅 and yeah sometimes I forget that I've just done a short rest and then immediately do a long rest, I have the attention span of a goldfish it would seem (I notice that when I edit the videos later and I'm like 🤦🏽‍♀️ why did I do that 😂 I'm so silly sometimes)
      See I got called out for calling Wyll a hypocrite so thank U! Aha I swear I change how I pronounce poor Astarion's name in each episode and I'm so glad you're enjoying the playthrough 😊
