If they ever break their Yamaha contract, which they likely won’t because it’s easier to get the whole corps’ intstruments from one company, they will play Tama.
he slows down a little when he plays anything besides the snare drum...tempo control is great on snare, and the second he moves to the toms, there is a slight slow down.
"Paradiddle idea"? as it applies to the drumset? ah OK. Oh with a closed hi'hat rh on closed hat. LF holding hi-hat closed and right foot playing an ostinato on a dampened 22" kick drum. 3 limbed coordination since no use of the LF is featured. Straight 8ths or Straight 16th subdivisions with little to no dynamics. What about a paradiddle over soloing with the rf and lf? Or use the hi hat for what is on the drum set. How about that? Good basic example for a short video I Guess. Thanks!
I know it's been like 2 years since you commented, but your comment is still relevant today. Yeah, young players seem to like a really dry sound. (I'm a young player.) However, with this video in particular, the mic is right at the top head. The producers probably did this because most younger players love that dry sound.
That's the best tuned marching snare I've ever heard.
It's Roger Carter. Dude could make a trash can sound magical
@@simonfromband hahaha
Beautiful sounding snare, but he also has a hell of a sound tech I wonder what mics he’s using.
Roger must be one of the best drum set players to cross over or do set and marching snare at a high level. Nice giong man!
Damn ... Yours and Rubens' Hands are on fire Still ..... That's CRAZY.. Loves what you did with the BlueCoat ... .
the drum sounds nice and crisp
Man the tuning on those toms is beautiful.
so sick. huge thanks!
that was freakin awsome!
You're correct. His ledgend.
why does every drum with a hybrid grey sound like it has no snare response
5:50 TWITCH
Can you put the marching snare with the drum kit ?
Nice., faved! Thanks for this demonstration :)
Why not use the marching snare for the sound of it in the drum set?
how did that mic survive that close of proximity to a marching snare
is he the drumline instructor for the bluecoats?
Jordan Kracus yes
And now 10 Years later. The Bluecoats will now March tama drums
Shell Materials: Maple 6ply 5mm B/B(Bubinga&Birch) 4ply Birch+3 inner ply Bubinga, 6mm

at 1:21 he dropped the beat.
No videos of your own, yet you time stamp and call out other’s. Hmmmm. You’re one of “them” guys.
We still have not seen anything from you...
Lol it is twitch! Im pretty sure hes like the percussion head at bluecoats
5:53 reminds me of Twitch
I hate the way corp. drums sound these days. No tone what so ever. Sounds like my practice pad.
You can pick up tone, but it's way easier to hear in person. Most cameras and mics won't pick up how contemporary marching snares sound these days.
Thats why i don't march :)

I agree, where is the tone? Sounds like playing coffee cans. What motivated this trend. Give me an old school snare and tenor drum.
