Very beautiful indeed. When I had a holiday in Elounda 30 years ago there was a cute little harbour, filled with brightly-painted traditional fishing boats moored to the substantial stone quays, this being the first time I had seen anything like it in real life. But, of course, the town has now been hugely expanded and developed, with that little harbour now long gone. When the Disney film The Moon-Spinners was filmed there in 1963 there wasn’t even a harbour, the site back then just being a plain sandy beach instead.
Very nice place.Stayed at the Marriott Domes of Elounda a few years ago.V expensive but worth it.
Blimey, what an experience! Thanks for watching.
