i always find it really hard to view anybody other than Andrew Keenan-Bolger as Crutchie, but I have to say that Zachary was certainly a worthy replacement for him- there's no denying his talent, especially considering how young he was when he started!

I saw it for the second time in two weeks yesterday, and I whispered to my friend "RIP Crutchie" right before he got arrested. He gave me a weird look, and one minute later, he gave me this terrified look XD
It's amazing that he can add that 'street boy' accent while singing so beautifully. Love this song. Can't wait to see the off-Broadway version. ny is just too expensive
BottomsUp1716 I think it's a shame they didn't have it in the Broadway show, but I'm glad they added it. I think it adds a lot to the narrative as, on Broadway, after the end of act one you didn't see Crutchie again until the end of act two, he just got mentioned. But now we get to see what happens to him instead of just hearing about it and I think that's a great addition :)

i believe they gave crutchie a solo bc he basically disappeared during act 2 of the show and showed back up again very briefly in the broadway show😂 but the gas station incident was hilarious

I'm so glad they added this into the Live Recording. I loved hearing this version, and it was so satisfying to hear Andrew Keenan-Bolger (the original Crutchie) sing it in the movie theater because it was a song the original Crutchie deserved to have in the musical. It adds more to the story and shows how just awful the Refuge was to those children. This is not a comparison of the two singers, because both played Crutchie in beautifully unique ways and enjoyed hearing both depictions. I'm I just happy this song went into the mainstream Newsies scripts.

When I saw him live and met him during their run in San Francisco, I loved this song so much. I used to love Crutchie but he wasn't my favorite until Zachary Sayle (bae) did his rendition of Crutchie, and sang Letter From The Refuge and I CRIED. He is extraordinarily talented and has a beautiful voice. :)
I was watching Newsies the other night with my little brother. I spent the whole movie with a Kleenex in my hand, because well... My brother doesn’t cry that much, but just after Letter from the Refuge he turned his face to me and he was full of tears! I passed him the tissue and he said “Crutchie is the best person ever” and kept on crying . It was so heart warming

Really fine, pure tone. Your technique really shows. Excellent dynamics as well. You're smart enough to just tell the story and not feel the need to over sing it. Zachary, having seen the show several times, you melt hearts every single night. The loud ovations you receive nightly are more than well deserved. Congratulations & continued best! Not many 18 year olds get to be the first to sing a new Disney (Menken/Feldman no less!) song in a National tour - AFTER the show has already closed in New York! You do the show's composers/producers proud in their obvious faith in you. But more importantly, I am incredibly excited for the career you have ahead of you, and the absolutely charming, intelligent, witty and articulate artist and person you are becoming right before our eyes. I saw this show April 16, 2015 in Los Angeles and wasn't expecting this song. It just kicked me in the teeth it was performed so well and Mr. Sayle sounded so good! One can't help but to have a smile the whole show and leave with tears. I got to meet the cast afterwards. Just amazing talent. God bless them.

Just saw Newsies last night for the first time here in San Antonio TX. This was one of my favorite songs, so lets just say I was heartbroken when it wasn't on the CD I bought. Thank you Disney for putting up this video. And Zachary love you and you did an awesome job.

I watched the Newsies movie when I was 9, and I immediately fell in love with every aspect of it, the choreography, the music, the characters..... especially Crutchie. About 4 years later, having seen the touring cast and Zachary Sayle (my sister being lucky enough to have interviewed him) twice, I am still undoubtedly in love with this musical and it has affected me in ways can't describe. They encouraged me to start dancing, and through dance I have worked through hard times and found something to keep me going, I guess you could say this musical gave me something to believe in ;)
A few days ago, I commented on this video. I commented on how beautiful his voice is. It is beautiful, yes. However, I have to say that it sticks with you. I have come back to watching this video again and again. I love all of Newsies, but this just takes the cake.
I seriously love this song to pieces. Thank you Disney On Broadway for making this video. And I think almost everyone will agree with me when I say Zachary sings this song so well you can't help but get all the feels at once
I saw this last week and when I heard this song I could not help but cry. I have been listening to this song multiple times every day. I love this song and wish it was on the CD I bought. Maybe they will come out with a new CD with this song on it. Crutchie was always my favorite even in the movie, but now more so in the play.

I just saw Newsies in LA nearly three weeks ago and I remember how surprised I was when this was in the show. I had never heard the song before (I didn't even know it existed) so it was (obviously) my first time hearing it. By the time the song was over, I was silently in tears. It's so beautiful and is probably my favorite song from the musical!
I saw the touring production in Cleveland and I saw it last April on Broadway. I have to say, I enjoyed the tour cast SO much more! This song had me sobbing like a baby!

Just saw Newsies last night for the first time here in San Antonio TX. This was one of my favorite songs, so lets just say I was heartbroken when it wasn't on the CD I bought. Thank you Disney for putting up this video. And Zachary love you and you did an awesome job.
The CD came out before this song was added. I wish this song was in the CD, too.

I watched the Newsies movie when I was 9, and I immediately fell in love with every aspect of it, the choreography, the music, the characters..... especially Crutchie. About 4 years later, having seen the touring cast and Zachary Sayle (my sister being lucky enough to have interviewed him) twice, I am still undoubtedly in love with this musical and it has affected me in ways can't describe. They encouraged me to start dancing, and through dance I have worked through hard times and found something to keep me going, I guess you could say this musical gave me something to believe in ;)
He has the voice of an angel.

A few days ago, I commented on this video. I commented on how beautiful his voice is. It is beautiful, yes. However, I have to say that it sticks with you. I have come back to watching this video again and again. I love all of Newsies, but this just takes the cake.
I seriously love this song to pieces. Thank you Disney On Broadway for making this video. And I think almost everyone will agree with me when I say Zachary sings this song so well you can't help but get all the feels at once

I saw this last week and when I heard this song I could not help but cry. I have been listening to this song multiple times every day. I love this song and wish it was on the CD I bought. Maybe they will come out with a new CD with this song on it. Crutchie was always my favorite even in the movie, but now more so in the play.

I just saw Newsies in LA nearly three weeks ago and I remember how surprised I was when this was in the show. I had never heard the song before (I didn't even know it existed) so it was (obviously) my first time hearing it. By the time the song was over, I was silently in tears. It's so beautiful and is probably my favorite song from the musical!
I listend to this during class and was absolutely in tears. Luckily I was allowed to cry in chorus!!
