I did just get the silver dragon. Looks good. Congrats on your collection.
I started collecting the Tudor series at the start, first time I've ever tried to do something like this. My main priority is the Silver Proof/Reverse Proof sets, so far I am keeping up. I know they are expensive, and I hardly ever buy proofs, I think it will be nice to have, and a complete set would be extra rare. I also get Silver Bullion ones in 1, 2, and 10 oz (10 oz is awesome). I need the Unicorns and Dragons for those. I did get some gold ones for the earlier versions, maybe this summer I can get some new ones. But, the Silver proof sets are a priority for me, because I want a complete set for myself, and most of the Silver Tudor proof sets are limited to 750 worldwide. I know they aren't Queen's Beasts, but they are also interesting to have a series with two Monarchs.
Cool, it should be a lovely set by the end, looking forward to the bullion dragon coming out still I thought we'd have it by now
I dont like the Tudor Designs at all! The Queen's Beasts designs were so much more majestic. I was younger when the original series came out so I had a lot of disposable income but with the gold price where it is now I might have to settle for a 1/4oz set sadly. I wish I would have done what you did with the hedge purchase, that was a great idea I will employ in the future thanks for sharing it!
I agree the QB series seems superior so far at least 👍🏼
Super low mintage for a major mint on these gold proofs. Maybe pepping up the series. When I logged in all 2oz gold were reserved. Maybe didnt even hit the site 🤔
It might prop the series up let's see 👀🤞🏽
Those look pretty good in gold.
Gold certainly looks better to me
Cant see the panther in bullion, pretty good idea from the RM I think to encourage the proofs 👍🏻
Yeah I believe it will be released later, I imagine yes to get people into the proofs
Thanks for sharing this content, also your funny with some of your comments. Yes, I think the beasts have lost their edge with the new series. If the price was right, I wouldn't say no. I am really tight when it comes to gold bullion premiums. Keep up the great work another thought provoking video. Like the consistent uploads, hopefully your subs will grow based on the effort and time you put into YT.
I don't think you'll go far wrong keeping those premiums under control. I usually aim for Friday and Sunday but occasionally there's an extra midweek video too 👌🏽
Great video. It is this Dragon will NOT made in bullion? I saw a panther also just do Proof finish in the Tudor Beast series
confuse to made decide to collect with that high cost.
All 10 beasts are expected in bullion as far as I'm aware. 👍🏼
This is not the best looking Dragon but i still want some in our shop!
Yeah I am still planning to buy the bullion ones
Like #19🎉 Great video, buddy
Thank you 🐺👍
They waited till the Chinese year of the dragon, to release the dragon. Call me cynical. I wonder if we'll be getting the bullion at the same time (although i've stopped collecting the series, as i've trimmed down my stack collecting goals to just two series (and the odd man out here and there), to make sure i'm not always frustrated by them. It's annoying, but rational.).
That ain’t no dragon!
@@davisstevied If they were trying to go with a Tudor period representation of a Dragon, I don't get that vibe. In general too, it's made up of some odd takes on it's component parts. That said, the illustration isn't terrible. It just was simplified in the transition to the coin and lost a lot in the translation.
I'm thinking back and whilst I wasn't properly stacking during the QB series there was 3 that I really liked, a few that were ok, nice enough, and a few which weren't bad designs just not what I'd want on a coin so much
@@SovereignSaurus But you've got to stack 'em if you're collecting the series. In for a penny, in for a few thousand pounds, heh.
@@SovereignSaurus lol guess what. I just bought a 1/4 oz Unicorn damn it. Guess i'm still collecting the Tudor Series.
I don't like this dragon coin.
The dragon looks like Tabaluga - instead of majestic beast, it looks simply friendly
From the pictures I don't think it can match up to the QB dragon
I think that these bullion silver versions will have super low populations due to the low demand in silver since this series started and also people are comparing it to the Queens Beast series…like you said it’s a hard act to follow…the Unicorn will be the lowest population…that and the Bull…they both only had a few months between releases…the lion and the Yale were spread apart about 6 months…at the current rate, this series will complete in late 2025…with a completor coin early 2026…I don’t know why they used such a basic font in this series…they could have done better with that…and I also don’t like that all of the poses are almost exactly the same, and the body types on the animals are the same too…all
These animals have big tear ends…the designer must like big butts
Hahah yes it is pretty similar between each beast. I've an idea based on that for a future video
We need a warvof the roses style coin
That could be interesting yes
The Dragon 🐉 looks like he's taking a dump 😳
That's the theme of the series I think 🤣
@@SovereignSaurus 😂
They just need to use Smuag 🧐 from the Hobbit movies 🎬
🤣
Ive not been impressed by any of these Tudor Beasts, not having our late Queen Elizabeth on these Tudor Beast doesn't help either.
However, what has crossed my mind, is that if we have an abdication or something else......... a very short run might be available at a relatively low outlay.
Also, if the global economy, currently teetering on the edge of a precipice tips over, and CBDC become the norm, coinage minted with precious metals could become history. In other words currencies and coins featuring monarchs maybe also a thing of the past.
NB. Corporations and Institution now use franking machines for posting, the rest of most of us use mobile phones and e-mails, no monarchs on these.
Interesting thoughts. I wondered what might happen if there were a third monarch in the span of the series 🤔
@@SovereignSaurus I think it might be a good idea if the engravers make a start on a new set of portraits.
BTW, I do have 2023 Tudor Beast lion and Yale in 10oz bullion silver (just for HM's portrait).
It's one of the better Tudor beast designs .. I think the necks are a bit of an issue .. especially the Bull .. but in general I like it.. cancelled silver proof sub some time ago because of awful quality .. haven't picked up the unicorn in bullion yet... but I'd like to get this in quarter bullion..
Yeah the proof coins seemed like never ending issues. I'm sure some people must have got nice coins somewhere.
@@SovereignSaurus yeah .. maybe , but I sent one back four times .. I think! never once did I get a coin without some issue.. just not worth the effort .. silver proofs are awful ... not worth the headache..
I really don’t get these Tudor coins. Can’t connect with them whatsoever and I’ve got coming from all of the major mints around the world.
Yeah it doesn't seem as popular as the QBs for sure
🐉
😁
Can't believe people are choosing bitcoin over this stuff.... I love metal especially copper
Are you stacking copper bullion or stacking 'recycled' copper?
Mediocre dragon design, in my opinion
Yeah I wasn't blown away with the pictures.... Maybe it'll look better in person 🤔
@@SovereignSaurusconsidering the Dragon Queen's Beast is still an eye popper, I'm surprised the RM didn't do a side by side comparison.
Of all my 1oz RM designs, my Red Dragon Queens Beasts, is my number one favourite, followed by 1997, 2005, 2009, 2010, 200, 2008 britannias.
I've grown to appreciate that textured field framing HM QE 2nd portrait on the QB Dragon, (similarly featured on the 2016 Britannia).
Not as impressive as the QB
No. A hard act to follow
@@SovereignSaurus a bit like the liberty and Britannia mix coin… i find the design a little 2D (if you get my analogy) doesn’t pop for me
Yes, previous Queens beasts were/are amazing…
