- In the 1920s, the narrowest place in the Arroyo Seco was dammed to control flooding, and it was named Devil’s Gate Dam, for the demon-like face of a horned figure in the natural rock formation. In the 1940s, a group of occultists became interested in the area and attempted rituals intended to open a portal to Hell. The group included rocket scientist Jack Parsons (a follower of Aleister Crowley’s Thelema) and L. Ron Hubbard (future founder of Scientology). Their goal was to bring forth a “moonchild,” which they hoped would be an Antichrist figure that would lead a Thelemic revolution.

The problem with a lot of ghost hunters is that their minds are so full of paranormal pop culture that they end up psyching themselves out over nothing. It's unfortunate that the subject has devolved into found footage clichés and pseudoscientific gimmicks, a simplified formula for quick and easy content but with no real substance.

My sister and me used to ride to run our horses at devils gate. I waited while she ran warlock her arab beauty. I was too scared. We lived at 582 meadow Grove place. Truly a magical place.

It’s a shame the background music is so loud, you can barely hear a majority of the sounds, voices, screams, etc. It makes me feel like I am watching a B movie!

Devils gate dam is just a name. I grew up.there and would ride and play alone all the time. My mama was a cop so i was always aware. I see nothing paranormal thus far.
